I love the fact they were hiding the cat like children so they didn’t get in trouble. It makes my heart ache.

I’m sure Flame has helped prevent a lot of nervous breakdowns. After such a long, stressful shift as a firefighter, I’m sure the company of a cat would be quite soothing. Cats make wonderful therapy animals.

I love how cats can just own any place they want. It could be a house, a bus station, or a firehouse. Once the cat decides "this place is mine now" that's that, no more debate.

''first, we were nervous about the chief finding out'' my guy, i get what you mean. I work in a factory and we had this stray black cat that kept wandering in trough the gates and everyone dotes on it, so we were worried that our boss would find out and like, idk, get rid of it somehow. However, one rainy day we caught him, with a towel, trying to help the cat get dry. The sigh of relief from all the workers could be heard even trough all the noise of the machinery. (the cat doesn't approach the machinery just people that package the material, which is a process done by hand, so no worries about the cat getting hurt).

Back in the day when I was a volunteer firefighter I use to get home after calls and my Cats were waiting at the door for my return with purrrrs, mrrpps, meows, cat assing, and lots of love. They took the edge off the horrors and heartbreak that I went through and kept me sane. There is something about these creatures that soothes the soul and helps heal a heart that is broken.

My cat of 13 years who recently passed, was the best therapy i could've asked for. Helped me through a lot of tough times when i felt lonely. Pets are a blessing and we should be lucky to have them in our lives.

Same deal with my cat MInnie. I was 8 years old when she just showed up one day as thin as fish-bones and was like "Okay I like you human. I'll stay with you." and followed me home. Hid her from mom form a couple of days since I never expected for mom to cave in on day 1. Well long story short those were some crazy 15 years we spent together. This video just brought up such good memories... What a crazy and yet smart cat she was.

This is great, petting cats and such releases oxytocin which is basically a happy chemical to the brain. These guys probably see some horrible stuff and deal with tough situations, something like the cat coming up after a long terrible shift might be what keeps them from having a meltdown.

Lesson here: More stressful workplaces need in house cats to serve as de-stressers. Cheap and effective. Cats cost practically nothing, easily lovable.

It's amazing that Flame lets himself be bathed! He is SO relaxed in the water. It's so cute that he comes out of the bath *1:52* when the guy says "Flame! Come on out, boy." Just like a dog - but DON'T tell Flame that!! :-D

I was never a cat person, until I rescued. Both of mine have been insanely dog-like 😂. My most recent was an orphaned 3 week old. She's now besties with my rottie mix & 2 kids. My dog instantly recognized that she was a baby & took her under her wing. Amazing what you all did for Flame!

I was a firefighter. Now retired. We have three cats. They’re all great. All three have different personalities.

He’s very much a cat. Cats are very loving and very attached to the people that care and love them.

I loved the part where Flame was literally sitting as one of the Firefighters said he sits around. I do think Flame is well spoiled from the guys and just returns the favour by making sure they are getting some playtime with him.

I'm just imagining when it's time for him to say goodbye and move on how these men who are buff and strong are probably gonna shed some tears and the thought hurts me

... saw a video about a cat at a police station - something to behold, how that cat (called Captain!) was a stress reliever for the folks at that station. Can't help but think how police stations & fire stations greatly benefit from four footed members.. .we all know the therapeutic benefits of having a pet in our lives, makes a world of difference.

This is AMAZING!!!!! A Fire Station's not the SAFEST place for a pussycat.........but he loved it there, and the Fire Fighters loved having him there.........they said when they'd been on a job, and came back, the lovely pussycat was there for them to cuddle...........ITS ALL SO SWEET!!!!! It shows the therapeutic value of pussycats.............the Fire Fighters and the pussycat both loved the situation as much as each other..............maybe every workplace needs to have a pussycat.................if they stop people getting stressed out, lower their blood pressure, they could save the NHS a lot of money as well!!!!! Sorry, I know you haven't got the NHS in the States. The UK's the only place that's got it. But for people who have to pay for medical care, it would cut down on the costs of that, save a lot of Doctors' time, etc etc etc! It's not only pussycats who have that effect on people, all pets do! I don't know how they do it, but they're amazing!!!!!
