I was so happy when you rewatched Jimin's dance. To be honest you cannot watch him too many times. Then Dionysus, so hype, and when RM says "are you ready to be hyped up"? when we are already on the edges of our seats, there is nothing else like it. Not to forget, this was an awards show, not a BTS concert. Wow, wow, and more wow.

“Microcosmos”, the song with “I love you” in many different languages, is a song for Army with the message that each of us is a star in the universe. Each of us are special and significant. Our individual lives have meaning. The people at the concert could not see the stars and planets. These were added later for the video.
I got tickets for two of their LA concerts a couple of years ago, and it was legitimately one of the most stressful things I've ever done, lol. The tickets go SO fast, you don't have time to think. You just have to grab a free spot as fast as you can and hope it's good, and hope it is still there when you click on payment. I had a VIP sound check ticket snatched right out of my cart. 😭
Yep! I'm 67 now and I have never in my life seen a performance anything like this. The individual performances were all some of BTS' songs. I'll let someone else list them if they haven't already. If they don't, I can let you know what they are. BTS went all out for this one. We later learned that they thought this would be their last award show performance before military. They had planned a tour for April 2020 and then after that were going to start enlisting. However, the pandemic hit and plans changed. MMA 2018 and 2017, and 2020 were amazing too, but not this huge! 2020 was missing Suga because he was recovering from shoulder surgery, but they left space for him. It's touching and it's beautiful too.
13:00 There's a reason we call it The Hunger Games when they release concert tickets. 😅 They sell out the world's biggest stadiums in about an hour and a half, if you're not a fan club member you're out of the running since tickets are available to members first and they always sell out then and there and the most expensive re-sold tickets went for $40,000. 🤯 To put things a little into perspective 😅: - One concert of theirs brought as many foreigners to the country as the entire Olympics. - 400,000 people attended their 10 year anniversary celebrations fireworks show in Seoul and that was "only" a show to their music and not a concert. - They, not their entire company but they alone, account for 0.4% of the South Korean BNP. - They held four concerts over two weekends in Las Vegas and the entire city re-named itself Borahaegas for that week. The instantly sold out concerts were all held simultaneously in two locations: Allegiant Stadium (65,000) and a live-play screen show with all the same practical effects, just not the members on the stage, at MGM Grand Garden Arena (17,000). There were BTS themed hotel rooms, water fountain shows, exhibitions, pop-up shops and restaurant menus and many signs were changed to purple lights. Google Borahaegas - the pictures are stunning! (I've never wanted to be somewhere so bad in my entire life! 😭) - When they held a free concert in Busan in 2022 including free streaming we "broke" 3 huge international servers with our 50 million log-ons. 😂 (But yeah, if they come to Europe again I'm totally trying to get tickets anyway since I haven't seen them yet either! 😄👍)

Jimin's dance reportoir is a South Korean traditional dance using Salpuri-Chum (white cloth) as a prop to express how the actor has overcome his fear of uncertainty or the unknown or of a misfortune. Befitting to BTS' I Need You, Jimin used such material in a contemporary manner to express the emotional turmoil of the character in the said song. In the MV of "I need You", it portrayed different types of characters who were dealing with emotional turmoil from the inside and used the word "girl" to mean hope such that, if it is lost at the moment when it's the only thing left as means of survival, it feels like a a dead man walking (like one who is under a state of depression leading to OCD, if not bypolarism).
Watch MMA 2018, BTS' performance brought the world's attention to South Korean at that time. I remember seeing it in a business news, featuring South Korea's sudden rise to supper powers and Jimin's fan dance were used as one of the referrences on South Korea's economy and tourisn sudden rose to one of the top 10 most influncial countries in the world. It featured how the electrifying effect of KPop, KDrama, KBeauty and KFood were globbally growing awareness of South Korea. At that time, I was just reading the paper (journal) for general information purposes and had no interest in KPop. I knew nothing about KPop except on Seo Taiji and Bigbang but at that time they were not known as KPop instead simply as Korean Boy Bands. It was through Psy, his Gangnam Style, and Girls Generation that I got to know KPop but it did not attract my attention in as much as Seo Taiji and Bigbang did, not to mention that I find their Kpop bands too noisy. Until a friend of mind who is based in the US and sent me a copy of Blackswan. I thought it was her own written poem for we both love poetry. She replied to, "While doing nothing during the lockdowns and look into BTS." At that time, Dynamite was not yet born. I replied to her, "You want me to check on a Kpop boy band? Another PSY like music?" She replied, "Dah! BTS is different, they are not the dancing and singin poets in our midst." I looked into BTS then 2 weeks after BTS released Dynamite. And, the rest is history! But, MAMA 2017, 2018 and 2019 were also mindblowing.
There are captions available. The personal cost of this award show mega performance to BTS would be hard to calculate. Financially just hiring the led screens would have cost them millions. Its an award show. They would not have got the money from television rights or tickets sales . Then there is the cost to their bodies of such a long high energy performance. It is an expression of their commitment to fans to give the fans their best. They are still young enough. It will go down as one of the greatest performances in history. Because of the internet we are all privileged to be able to watch it into the future.
BTS practice singing while running on treadmills so they can control their breathing, I've been an ARMY since 10th July 2021 and I wish they had found me years before that, am 48yrs old and have listened to rock all my life, I do like a wild genre of music, but when PSY came into western music in 2011/12 that's what I always class Kpop to be, so I always stayed away from it now I regret that judgement greatly because I missed so many years of BTS, but thankfully now they are in my life and I have honestly never spent so much time and money on a group I love so much, bring on 2025 when they are all back with us and 2026 when they'll hopefully go on another world tour and come back to WEMBLEY where i can finally see them.💜🔥💜
I am 77 year old Army and have been to dozens of stages shows in Australia🇦🇺 and New York, and this was spectacular . Our 7BTS are born for the career they chose. All the cast and dancers and behind the scenes people should also be congratulated . 🎊 🎉 I never tire of seeing this. This was an unmatched performance. The creativity, skill, endurance, musicality, stage presence, everything was on point. It hits even harder when you're familiar with all of the songs used in here. When you get to hear it all, you can rewatch on your own and see what I mean.
Fun fact : In the opening video when they were 'sleeping' Tae was so tired he actually fell asleep really... in the behind the scenes you see JK and Hobi looking at him and smiling, they just left him for a little while ... If you look at him in the lineup at the end of the video he still looks half asleep ... poor things, they were always so tired , a couple of them have been known to doze off whilst standing on stage (Jimin and Yoongi hahahaa )

It's even harder when I saw them at Wembley Stadium. They don't go on general sale they are offered to ARMY first and there's never enough even when they do 2 or more nights for a Stadium tour. The fill the biggest stadium in the world ticket's get sold out in under an hour.
Persona, from Map of the Soul: Persona, 2019, is part of their deep dive into Jungian Psychology, exploring identity, shadow, fear, love and the psyche. The two songs after Persona, Boy In Luv and Boy with Luv are answering songs to one another, made nearly 6 years apart, in 2014 and 2019 respectively. The former is an immature and anguished young schoolboy song about love, confused about love and what a girl/lover wants. The concert was aired free on Weverse and some other platform and the platforms crashed right after Run BTS. BANGTAN TV channel has the 2 opening songs out in RU-vid land though. Run BTS is a 2022 song off the 2nd CD on their Anthology album called PROOF. They had never performed it Live until the Busan concert in October 2022 - their last group concert that was to help Busan try to win the bid for the World Expo 2030. Busan is where Jimin and Jung Kook are from.

It's amazing. stray kids covered dionysus and ateez covered boy with luv and many other BTS songs . i would like to watch you reacting to that as well, if possible.
Stray Kids did a cover of this song - Dionysus (Original: BTS) (2020 KBS Song Festival) I KBS WORLD TV 201218. BTS released this song first on the Map of the Soul: Persona album April 12, 2019; and it was included on their 2020 album Map of the Soul: 7, which was released on February 21, 2020, before the pandemic hit. Then Stray Kids covered it December 18 ,2020.
@@lorydannagr I tried watching Stray Kids version, but I couldn't watch the whole thing. It just didn't feel right to me. Not that Stray Kids aren't talented. I just love that song and performance done by BTS. But I have respect for Stray Kids, because they respect BTS, and to cover one of their songs means it inspired them to do so. So that means a lot. I'm glad you liked the performance, it is one of their best.
This song does not go with Stray Kids. I don’t know…Stray Kids are different, too different. They can sing a song well, dance it well, but it’s about what they transmit also.

That last finale is just epic. I feel like I burned 300 calories just watching them. How they didn't collapse half way through is beyond me. They're more than just a music group. It's always hard for me to put what BTS is in words.

If I'm not wrong they prerecorded it the day before that MAMA (they were changing clothes while Mikrokosmos was being shown). Some thing about the songs the lyrics that I became interested in! To me this performance is their top tier performance that I’ve ever seen there were many other beautiful performances but this one was at a awards show it was like a mini BTS concert! The 7 lights represents the CORONA BORAELIS or the NORTHERN CROWN CONSTELLATION... In Greek mythology, Dionysus gifted Ariadne a crown as a wedding gift. The crown was made by the God Hephaestus, Ariadne wore it on her wedding. And then upon her death, it ascended to the sky with her soul and became a constellation.
I’m super late to this, so you probably won’t see it. Hopefully someone else will suggest it. Since you loved the dancing so much and especially what Jimin was doing, you’d really enjoy his #ThisisJimin series. He did a segment of choreo in a bunch of different styles including a couple of beautiful contemporary works. They all led up to his goodbye before enlistment and announcement of his see you later song. Most MAMA and MMA performance has a section focusing on the dance line. I love love love it. Personal favorite for that is MAMA 2016 followed by MMA 2018, but you really can’t go wrong. Can you tell I love dance? 😂

And also Jimin almost falling off his chair from exhaustion (not his usual clumsiness that causes it) once the lights go out

I knew you would love it. Stray kids are BTS fans and covered dionysus (I am sure someone already told you that lee know was once a backup dancer for BTS). Anyway, I am going to paste the stray kids Dionysus performance in a separate post since youtube often deletes links.
We have seen them live in concert twice and bought tickets for the third show but due to Covid it was cancelled. We've also seen August D live in concert. NOTHING tops them live! It's an experience that is worth it and one you will never forget! It's also amazing that we got tickets at all considering how fast they sold out. We're in the states so they only put on shows at 4 venues over a couple of day but we managed to go 2 years in a row, and had tickets for the third year.
During their last song RM slammed that staff down and well it slipped and hit him right in the crotch. He performed that entire song in extreme pain he said, yet you can't tell at all. The show must go on. 59 years old been ARMY since 2013 and will until the day I die.
I can’t wait for them to come to Europe some day…and if not let’s meet at the European server at the next online concert or live concert stream. Even on screen, yoongis concerts last year were such a connecting live changing experience 🥹
They use that gun hand signal you like at the end of both songs for a reason. At the end of Boy With Love, JK actually goes from the gun to an "I Love You" 🤟 sign. I'm not sure why they didn't show it. They purposely tied the songs together in name and with that signal to show how much they've grown and changed from that early aggressive, almost possessive, version of boys liking a girl to this more mature, romantic version. Both are amazing. (I like Boy In Love best.)

Funny you should say they are all beautiful they got so much hate for not fitting the Standard Idol beauty idea and were told they were ugly and there was even a petition to the South Korean government demanding they government step in and make them disband. It was so bad the amount of people doing the petition crashed the South Korean Government web site.
@@lorydannagr I know but the amount of hate they got and still get and the death threats. RM, V and Jimin have all received death threats. They had to cancel part of their Red bullet tour and everyone had to be escort out of the venue by police and security due to death threats aimed at RM. You would not believe the things that happened to them it's vile stuff even recently a few months before they started their military duty there was a big thing on Twitter saying the most vile things about Jimin and Jungkook because they both have tattoo's. I will not repeat what was said but it was disgusting.
