"Having Chan in the song is like having two streetlights with their light overlapping a little." Damn, that's powerful, I hadn't even thought of that.

"They don't offer any solution to it in the song." True, but to a huge extent, the song itself is the solution. Changbin said that the process of writing and recording the song was like telling his struggles to someone and he hopes that us fans tell our struggles to someone too. Just the process of telling it to someone can make the burden a little lighter. Just look at the comments section for this video on RU-vid. It's really powerful.

Lately, I'm crying with this song. Not only because it relates to myself, but also the fact that this song describes how hurt Changbin was. Chan said that this song was finished at early december last year, then Seungmin confirmed that Changbin wrote the song during Stray Kids' toughest and hardest situation last year. That's why he said some of the members even JYP staff cried the first time they heard this song. And for Changbin his position as one of the oldest members in the group forced him to be stronger than the others, he's his five lil bros' shoulder. That's why he can only express his pain through these lyrics. We all can see it when their 1st concert last November, the oldest members (Chan, Lee Know, and Changbin) could hardly cry, when Hyunjin, I.N, and Seungmin sobbed on stage. I think that's how changbin, chan, and lee know are the streetlights among skz members :'(

In the video when Chan starts singing you can see Changbin look up, almost like he's looking up to Chan as his Streetlight. I felt so much warmth in that moment. This is such a beautiful song with amazing lyrics. #wearenotalone ❤

What moved me in this song is the lyrical symbols used. When it is in the middle of the night, a streetlight shines bright. But when it is during a lovely day, the streetlight is just there, standing vacantly because its light isn't needed when the sun is up. It is the same streetlight one sees both day and night but it is only appreciated more when there is darkness; it sucks sometimes when your value is hinged on your ability to be dependable during tight situations, to do more than what is expected of you. However it is also an honor to be of great valute to others too.

Holy crap these lyrics are powerful, especially remembering the survival show and how much these guys have been through. Changbin and Chan are always there to lend a hand, but how often do they try to hold it all in and try to seem strong and carry everyone else's burdens? They need someone to share their burdens with too. I hope that they can at least lean on each other.

Apparently there's a rumor , that all the JYP staff that have listen to this, have cried.

The way I thought I wasn’t gonna cry again when I watched this :’)) Also I know exactly what you mean by the fact that Chan being in it makes it so much more powerful. Even though the lyrics are sad till the very end, the way their voices merge in the last chorus is a reminder that you’re not the only one feeling like this. That part, especially with the visual of the blue tree, means that it’s okay to tell people when you’re not okay, and that just because others may be struggling too, that does not invalidate your own struggles. We are all allowed to feel bad every once in a while.

You know, Deacs.... we really appreciate you. I appreciate you. One thing I've always wished I could tell my favorite idols is....its okay to have off days. See, I'm a teacher. I teach English at a Junior High. And I've really been able to see so many kids experience so much. And it's okay when they arent okay. They know that no matter how they feel I'm there for them... whether it's in a mood to work hard or bogged down and in need of a safe space to catch their breath. Because learning can always happen later or through a different method - but feeling okay should never be put off. Your videos give so much strength. They are fun. They are RELATABLE(I still think of your Love Talk reaction as the epitome of me as a reaction). But sometimes people forget about the person behind the video. We forget that you have a life outside of us, that you have problems just like us. And as much as you give us strength..a place to come when we arent okay.. where is your strength? What I'm trying to say is... it's okay to do what you need to be okay. A video can always be filmed later - even if it means you're late for a comeback. A reaction can always be delayed. But you and your health and your happiness should never be. And I'm positive there isnt a single one of your followers who would disagree with that. Just like I wish I could tell Changbin and chan and any other idol feeling pressured... We love you when you are weak just as much as when you are strong. We accept you not just as the image you feel pressured to present, but as the person behind that image. A streetlight might stand alone, but the sun will always rise.

I also feel that featuring Chan in this track even for a brief section adds a bit of comfort that's not found in the lyrics

I was waiting for your reaction and am over the moon to know that you understand the deeper meaning of the song. True, it didnt offer any solution but sometimes pouring out thoughts and feelings is often enough for a little respite. This song will relate to many aspects of everybody’s life ie. school, relationships, work and life. I am blown by the simplicity and complexity of the song. How he manages to put words into the feelings that we all have.. Definitely in love with this song.

my take on the streetlight symbolism, is that a streetlight has so many different states of being if you think about it: when it's dark, it's either viewed as extremely useful thing, but when there are no people around, it just stands alone, as said in the lyrics. on the other side, a streetlight has no purpose during the day, the extreme opposite of its usefulness during the night. also, if its in an even remotely lively area, its surrounded by people, who don't really see it, because they don't need it at the time.... basically, this symbolism is so well thought out, relatable and genius, thank you Changbin for producing this song and opening up to us with this topic!

Its probably me reading in too deep, but I felt like the "solution" to the song is when Chan and Changbin sing together, I feel like it's saying by being together you can work through it and then it ends with it hurts to be alone, kinda emphasising how as much as you try to get through it by yourself there are times you need someone there with you.

I'm going through a lot but she's a very sensitive person and I'm always trying to be by her side to be that best friend she doesn't rlly have, but even though my days are dark, there's some days where it's extremely dark and I can't talk to anyone which ends up on me not giving her attention and it makes me even more sad bcs I feel like I'm being a terrible person for not being there for her 100% of my time. I know it's not my obligation to be there always, but I just want to be for her that reliable person that I don't have bcs I know how bad it feels to be alone and I'm scared she might feel a little down when I'm not there.
