The Denafrips Arce is a new streamer that seamlessly integrates with other Denafrips products. It features a Pi-based design and a toroidal LPSU. The Arce offers various outputs, including AES, TOS, SPDIF Coax, USB, and I2S. Additionally, it has word clock inputs for further performance enhancement.
On the other hand, the Eversolo DMP-A6 streamer provides a ton of functionality, including streaming and a gorgeous display. It takes a small step down in performance relative to state-of-the-art options but remains transparent. The standard version of the DMP-A6 exhibits impressive sound quality, with well-controlled sibilance and a leaning toward brightness without harshness. Interestingly, the Eversolo DMP-A6 acts similarly to the Denafrips Arce, but also has a built in DAC that can be used for without an external unlike the Denafrips Arce.
Ultimately, your choice may depend on factors such as system synergy, display preferences, and pricing. Both streamers have their merits, and it’s essential to consider your specific requirements and preferences when making a decision.

Denafrips can't play Apple Music natively like the Eversolo DMP-A6, and the power supply can't be upgraded to a linear power supply like the Eversolo.

i dont hear any difference at all. listen on my high end setup...hm liaten via denafrips venus 2 12th bowers wilkins 804d2 accuphase c2120 and p4200...all out nordost norse cables...but innthe record...in dont here any difference

From your previous videos with this latest one I believe getting the EverSolo DMP-A6 Master Edition would be more than enough for many audiophiles. The rest will be choosing the DAC of your choice that will suit best with your system

The huge strong point of the ARCE is the ability to clock sync with terminator or t plus. Its next level natural easy detailed organic flowing powerful sound in that manner. Modem running on battery> ifi filter> Arce> I2S> clock sync kimber d60 bncs> terminator 12th> modified pass xa25> ayon vaic ultimate speakers (accuton /Eton drivers). Qobuz, Roon, 384 khz, precise minimum phase filter.

Amazing what they are producing in the PRC both vendors. Hats off too a fantastic source of modern audiophile technology. I like the big ever solo screen and the HDMI features. Denafrips probably sounds better. Your content is incredible splicing playback of 2 x different setups with the playback.

I do enjoy your videos the comparisons are excellent. Based on this comparison it was difficult to tell apart however I prefer the Denafrips it sounded more natural balanced detailed but not affected by sibilance as much as the Eversolo. Thanks.

really appreciate those comparisons! i have a preference for the deeper (more pushed back voices) that the arce seem to have, i'm wondering if with the eversolo dmp8 the voices are similar place as the Arce or further back or forward ? if you know of any other streamer, DDC or Reclocker that have this recessed effect please let me know also. thanks again for all the info. Love your comparisons on streamers. Music choice and sound is excellent even through RU-vid. Have one question for you. I am considering the Auralic Altair G 1.1 and the HiFi Rose 250A. My speakers are very detailed but my amp is pure class A and warm sounding. Which of those two streamer dacs would you recommend? Thanks for all your help?

Before I hear your opinion, which starts now: The difference is obvious, Denafrips ARCE is more transparent, with greater width in the sound... but it has less bass than Eversolo, which I notice "blurred" in comparison. Depth, greater or lesser, I can not detect it because of YT 👉Solution: Denafrips ARCE + Bass EQ (only a bit, from DSP - JRiver MC 64 bits or other good soft player).

@@carminedesanto6746 I think the Wiim Pro is great, especially considering the price. I have one for my headphone setup, and a DMP-A6 for my two channel. I actually like the Wiim software more than Eversolo's. The only thing I wish the Wiim Pro/Plus had was USB output. In fact, I was originally using a Wiim Pro on my 2-channel system but "upgraded" to the DMP-A6 so that I could add a Denafrips Iris DDC into the chain between the streamer and DAC. If the Wiim Pro had USB output I probably would have kept it and saved some money from upgrading to the DMP-A6. Sure, the screen on the DMP-A6 is nice and all, but I could easily do without it as I prefer to use a phone app. And I find the Wiim Software more stable for streamer wifi connectivity, it's simpler to use, and gets updated more often.

On my high end tube amp monblocks system, they both sound outstanding. Great recording work as I was playing through your track selection. Do I have a preference? None I can discern. Did I do something wrong? 🤣 No, won't put on headphones. Lovely video.d Subscribed.

I just bought a new power cord for dmpa6 master and iOS acoustic feet on the way. I’ll keep you posted it any sound enhancements. Have you tried to play with EQ or filter to take away some of the forwardness of the eversolo . I was interested if any good results there

Hi, I try not to touch the EQ either the EQ or the DSP feel the sound looses something in the midrange, so I'll try to use my devices as vanilla as possible ;)

Thanks for sharing. Usability smog Arce is lower than the ever solo but if you want to use roon it's going to work effortlessly. Ever solo has a display and dedicated app so clearly it's easier to operate and more user friendly

With the Arce, I noticed the vocals were more natural, organic and on display. I connected more with the singer. However, the eversolo had a wider soundstage with more presence laterally. The Arce sound was more concentrated in the center. I feel like I could listen to the Arce longer, but more exciting non-vocal music, I may go for the Eversolo.

yes that is exactly the case 😉 Arce doesn't not have soundstage and dynamics of the Eversolo and eversolo does not have the midrange richness. So all depends onbthe personal taste ;)

For me, the Denafrips sounded richer even over RU-vid. However, I'd never buy a streamer because for me none of them can match the interface I know and love -- a laptop connected by USB to a DAC. I recognise however that there may be issues with jitter, lack of galvanic isolation, and so on. I've been using an Ifi IPurifier3 for a few months, and that has made a small but noticeable improvement. Any day now my brand new Singxer SU2 DDC will arrive and I can't wait to see if it's as good as so many have said. At £400, it's cheaper than getting something like the Eversolo (specially an upgraded one), plus I can keep my much-loved Dell laptop that only cost me around £200 refurbished and hasn't gone wrong in several years. But if it does, I could be up and running with another one in no time. I wonder: do you perchance plan to compare a laptop + DDC to a dedicated streamer? If so, I'd very much look forward to it because your sound demos are second to none on YT! 🙂

Thanks for the comment. I used laptop for a very long time and was very happy. However I have to say it with a loittle sadness, a dedicated streamer do improve the sound :( I wish it wasnt the case but at least in my system it is. I was not sure I can use a DDC with Laptop ;) Have to try - interesting comparison it can be ;) Thanks for the positive words. They do give me plenty of energy to push forward :)

One might also use something like the Singxer UIP-1PRO active USB isolation processor (around £200) if one wants to output a purified USB signal to the DAC. Or, of course, the Ifi Ipurifier3 for nearer £100.

The vocals were much more inmersive with the Arce, but drums were more engaging on the Eversolo Could you get a bit of both worlds if combining Eversolo with Denafrips Ares dac? And would a DDC in between give anything to the table like accuracy and punch? Thanks for the video!

Hello, Yes the IQ is very open and detaild, and since I like the class D amps for the energy that they bring, I decided to go for the Auralic Aries G2.2. Maybe later on I'll change if I find a better one but for now I am happy with the level of sound that it brings. It's kind of a cherry on top the system and now I eliminated the need to improve it for a long tike and can concentrate on the Amp and cables ;)

the price is almost identical, because Eversolo has an upgrade, Denafrips only works with Roon, Eversolo you pay for the LCD and software, so I would expect it to sound worse.

After listening I would say the ARCE sounded more open, airy and laid back than the Eversolo where I heard edges that were a bit too hard. Not a very big difference over my monitors but noticable.

Thanks again for the useful comparison and test. At the moment I've been using Wiim Pro Plus with Loxjie D40 Pro in NOS mode and I'm pretty satisfied with the combo even with the large speakers in my Setup 1. Wiim Pro Plus was a huge step in sound quality from Windows laptop configuration. I will not make bad marketing here but the reason is really, really bad implementation of USB ports on laptop. So, since upgrade I've been looking for higher tier streamer and so far the Eversolo DMP-A6 Master Edition (up to 1000 euros) and Auralic Aries G1.1 (up to 3000 euros) are short listed. But, there is one more interesting competitor and that is Holo Audio Red streamer. Since, I'm familiar with your test setup and sound character taste I will appreciate if you can make one test Holo Audio Red vs. Eversolo DMP-A6 MA. There is no distributor for Holo Audio in my country.

No to tak,dlamnie Denafrips jest bardziej ludzki,prawdziwszy,wokale płynniejsze, mniej sztuczne ,ale na yt pewnie wszystkiego nie wyłapiemy. Funkcjonalność napewno górą eversolo. Kurcze bardzo ciekawy ten Denafrips no i gra oj gra zacnie 🙂 Czy to szło po i2s?

Witam, dziki za comment. Wszystko szło tutaj po USB. Ale jak lubisz kolor barwę i analogowosc a otwartość , dynamika przestrzeń są na drugim miejscu to ten streamer dokładnie taki jest ciepły i trochę zaokrąglony na pewno nie męczący ;)

I agree with your observations re. the differences. I did prefer the A6 ME slightly for its more livelier sound in this demo. Percussions hits with a bit more 'bite' and voices/midrange are more present. Opinions may change in a real demo, of course, but both have their strongpoints. Nice demo, thanks.

My problem with the ARCE is it only supports 16/44.1 over upnp so you will need Roon for high res. Since I am wifi only up until now, it would also take another investment in ethernet gear and cables to get the most out of it. That would raise the price well over 2000. (Ok you also get Roon).

I built one myself with a voltage regulator and some Mundord capacitors. it's definitely better than the stock one ;) will have to try some more as well ;)

It's just next level of getting the sound. I don't miss the CD at all. The comfort of switching the tracks creates a near DJ experience and opens the door to an endless amount of music.
