Always watch the older versions of these videos because the 0:37 intro music still slaps hard

I learned the hard way to always wear a broad brimmed hat when big streamer fishing...also that barbless hooks not only benefit the fish...

I wish I could again be fishing the Miracle Mile or 1 of the thousand other places down in Wyo. & Co. Back then I used size 7, 8, & 9, wt. rods, we used bigger rods to handle larger flies to catch larger fish. We floated large lines to catch fish. With a #9 line you're always prepared to catch whatever is in the neighborhood. Always had fish in the freezer. Because of how Flyrods are built you can get the same fight no matter the size. Its how you build your leader which makes all the difference. A #6 or a #4 line places you at a bit of a disadvantage when you begin playing a much larger fish. Don't become hoodwinked by smooth talking salesman.

That kid has probably caught bigger and better fish in nicer places than I ever will. He is now my nemesis. (JK)

Lol, that guy at 3:53 standing with all his pouches open like a goober. I have people like these to thank for the 5+ full boxes of flies I've found on gravel bars in my lifetime.

They get caught up in the moment, the hunt so to speak and forget to "zip up"!

Is fall time the best for trout?
@newflyfisher

depends upon where you fish and conditions. but a rule of thumb, early and late season are usually great for streamers

I had to check on that one, it is called a Popsicle fly and is popular with steelhead anglers but also with brook trout fly fishers as well. Have heard it also called :The Christmas Tree" in Labrador. Killer fly!

@@newflyfisher Thanks for the reply. I posted a picture on the fly fishing forum I frequent and they had suggested a string leech or MOAL type fly. All pretty similar ideas, definitely going to tie some up for the fall.
