Bought one at Cabelas last week. Great light. I’m a truck driver and it’s perfect for night truck and trailer inspections. Fenix PD36R v1.0 is my bigger mid size light.

- tfw and commenting. I use the Wedge XT practically every day. The battery honestly lasts for months. In fact, I’ve never had it die. Every couple of months I throw it on the charger just because I figure it has to be getting low

This would literally be perfect if the low was 5 lumens and came on with a different button. Real tail cap for 500 and button for 5 lumens. Basically the Streamlight stiletto

Any problems accidentally activated the tail switch? Seems like it would burn the crap out of you if you did.

- The tail switch takes quite a bit of force to turn the light on. I’d say it’s just about impossible to accidentally turn it on. Not even for the momentary

I have had the Wedge since 11/21 and was super excited about this new model, Wedge XT. I bought this Wedge XT with high expectations but was left disappointed and unhappy. The XT accidentally activates in the pocket all the time, but that's not even the worst part. I left mine on for an extended period of time and it burned a hole in the lens. Now the integrity of the light is compromised because there is a literal hole in the front. I would have much rather gotten another Wedge than wasted money on the XT.

Second review I’ve watched for this light. Both of you are confused about the wrench. It’s not to take it apart, it’s to take off the clip if you want to.

How usable do you think the 50 lumen low would be for working indoors on industrial machinery inspection, with pretty bright ambient fluorescent lighting? I carry a flashlight all the time at work for close up inspection and troubleshooting but need something that’s both powerful enough to eliminate shadowing from multiple heavy overhead lighting but not something that will cause too much of a glare from being too bright for close in work. Thanks for the video, good info.

- TFW and for the question. There are a lot of factors that go into the answer. I know you already mentioned ambient lighting but that significantly affects what 50 lumens looks like. The other major factor is how far away from the machinery you’re holding it. IMO, the Wedge XT is a well suited for most everyday tasks. You can hold it in your hand well and also between your fingers such as cigar style. Because of the flat style, you can actually hold it in your mouth pretty easily too. I do wish it had a 2-way pocket clip

- I haven’t tested it by submerging it in water but they claim you can. I’m also afraid of pocket lint and other things getting into the port

They aren't covered on phones either. Unless you are in a really nasty environment, then it shouldn't be an issue.

- TFW and for the question. I honestly have went back to the Microstream USB Coyote. It just works well for me. I use it for most tasks. I always keep an 18650 light on my belt if I need something more

- I agree that’s it’s overpriced but the Wedge was only 300 lumens and the XT is 500. The XT is also significantly smaller which makes it more pocket friendly

@@Steve-Goff Good points it does have some pros. I was actually just about to pull the trigger on one until olight announced the arkfeld pro with a pretty sick deal tomorrow. I think after all the research I'm going to go with that one.
