As a FANUC Authorized System Integrator, ISTHMUS Engineering and Manufacturing has developed a cutting-edge automated solution for sample processing.
System Overview
Patient samples are seamlessly transferred through a series of automated lab processes. The centrifuge process begins with a FANUC M-20iB/25C robot that handles every incoming tube. Post-centrifugation, a vision system identifies the sample layers and communicates their positions to a pipetting robot. The robot then precisely extracts the targeted sample and transfers it to a new tube. Following additional lab processes, the contents are mixed and transferred by a FANUC LR Mate 200iD/7C to a final tube for processing and diagnostics.
Key Benefits:
Increased Throughput: The system can handle a higher volume of samples compared to manual processing, improving overall lab productivity.
Enhanced Safety: By reducing the need for manual handling of samples, the system lowers the risk of exposure to potentially hazardous materials.
Scalability: The system can be scaled up to accommodate growing lab needs, making it a flexible solution for various lab sizes.
