This is one of the few guitar riffs I learned when I first got into guitar in my late teens early twenties. I'm still playing it... fifty years later...
Omg me too...i used to stay home and smoke joints and look for hours at them. Santanas was great...savoy brown...thsts who im listening too now.. Street corner talking
Introduced to them at the Bath Festival of Blues - 1970. Worked my over to England on a ship at age 19...what a freakin' idiot, how would a kid growing up in NYC thing anything was wrong with that gig??? It actually was a real cool experience, especially in Holland where the policemen told you where the hash bars where.
loved this album so much I have owned 2 copies because I played the first one to death. lol I'd buy it again, even though DVD doesn't sound as good as vinyl.
You’re right . It took quite a bit of tweaking to bring out the presence nearing the fidelity of a Shure V-15 and pristine vinyl , dual mono-block amp, and Klipsch La Scala theatre speakers, goosebumps!!!!!
Ahhhh yes! Back when music was MUSIC!!! This is the first album I ever bought, at 13 yrs old in 1976, and after several re purchases in several formats, still loving it today!
Classic in EVERY sense of the word. These guys were fucking awesome. Simple. Love this album cover.............music has lost so much over the yrs. Man......all ya gotta do is listen, and look. Thanks, C.
nowadays if you aint rappin or dancin nude with fireworks goin off and lights a flashin you aint nuthin. back in the day all that stuff was going off in your mind and soul while the music was playin
rangersidekick you know, in the move alexander 2004 version, ptolemy was citing his memoirs to the scribes, and he stated....how can i tell youwhat it was like to be young and dream then......I have the same difficulty talking to the young musicians who are shred speed freaks and low bass chords aficianados. I love reading the comments on some of the youtube downloads of the music from our day, because it gives a ray of hope for the younger artists that appreciate that earlier sound and feel the power and soul given by music from that era. The aura of that time, the colors, the thought provoking content that the music inspired, the clothing styles the fragrances of the defferent herbs and incense. Was a truly great time to be alive in spite of all the turmoil. Thank you for your reply
Their best album. All their work with Dave Walker was top notch. Kim's still out there doin' it too. I've met him a few times. Good man. Of their later stuff I like the "Strange Dreams" album. Savoy Brown is still one of my top 5 favorite bands.
Hellbound Train(Dead Stop) with Lost And Lonely Child living with the world of screams, right up there with Feel all right with the needle and spoon Savoy Brown / Foghat defectors Splentacularlicious
We see Dave Walker during the summer playing at the Wells Fargo steak house on Fridays in Virginia City MT . Interestingly enough he doesn’t play any Savory Brown songs . Still a cool cat .
Real music. Many days and nights smok'in dope and drink'in beer with friends play'in this album. Wikipedia says that David Anstey did the cover art but it looks more like Robert Crumb.
Street Corner Talking Lyrics Kim Simmonds-Chrysalis Music Ltd. Came to the city, left my happy home Came to the city, left my happy home But I didn't do right, learned my lessons wrong Street Corner Talking, wonder what I'm gonna do Street Corner Talking, wonder what I'm gonna do If you can't get a job, council will take of you It's the same what a shame, no matter where you go It's the same what a shame, no matter where you go People wonder what to do, too much time for me and you Street Corner Talking, wonder what I'm gonna do Street Corner Talking, wonder what I'm gonna do If you can't get a job, council will take of you
Great album. In the 70's, when on tour, they would always go to Austin to play at the Armadillo. Always high energy straight from the Heart. All their album covers were great works of art by David Anstey. Little Feat's album covers by Neon Park are also awesome. That is one reason I have kept all my vinyl records. A CD cover offers an area less than one fifth of an album. That dinky format just doesn't do their art any justice.
