@Ch Pe yeah I have the Japanese version on VHS. During their fight there's a slow song playing in the background which really makes the scene. Sadly I can't find a clip of it on RU-vid to show you.
@Ch Pe I believe there are two versions of the VHS. And yes M Bison is the boxer(I was told it was a play on words to honor Mike Tyson). Balrog has the claws, and Vega is the real name of the dictator. But yes in the version I have the music is different.
Hahahaha, thats funny because it was this movie that made me realize how tacked on the soundtrack was when it comes to movies and artists. I fucking hated korn, alice in chains, ect for this reason. And all i see from you guys is, youll accept anything stupid. I was 14 years old and realized that horseshit.
I know! Caught me by surprise too! It's usually I'll rip your heart you filthy bastard, the first time I heard the f bomb dropped in any rendition of this movie!
@Jack Bat That's weird. Guess there are 3 editions. The only curse I recall from the VHS was Honda v. Balrog on the cliff (or technically the infamous (Bison's sss is mine"). I remember him calling bison a bastard in this scene but not a creep.
Wow, I never really took in how dark and gritty this film was. Sagat nearly gets ripped in half by Ryu's Shoryuken, and gets finished off with a I guess you could say, Denjin Hadoken type attack (and somehow survived, when in the canon, he nearly dies *just* from the Killing Intent fuelled *Metsu* Shoryuken), Ken gets electrocuted and knocked unconscious by his own Hadoken, Chun-Li almost gets murdered by Vega, Honda and Balrog fall off a cliff, which they probably narrowly survived, Ryu nearly gets beaten to death by his brainwashed best mate, and Bison tries to run Ryu over with a lorry (truck), which is kind of hilarious in a way. Oh, and the dialogue is fucking great, too. I always get a chuckle at Honda's exasperation at Bison's villain speech.
"I'll rip your fucking heart out, you filthy bastard!" "Hahahaha. Afraid I don't have one. " I've always loved that line from Bison. How come this guy never dubbed him in the games?
I think it's a similar to the main theme (ryu's meditation), you can find it on youtube (the slow version) originally composed by someone called Cory Lerios
Bit late to the party but if you still wish to know it's called Dramatic Battle by Cory Lerios as mentioned by carritohmc and Jonathan D'andrea aswell. It does go for 17 minutes long the whole song I was searching this song for many years and found it by chance
one few instances jp version did worse in background music and voice acting except forthat stupid part no wayy he's my friend something ryu would never say
Yeah... but overall the English dub and soundtrack change is so much better. I like how Ryu yells to Ken 'Take a good long look at me dammit! Come on this is a real fight! Tell me who I am!' is MUCH more impactful than just 'Ken!..... Ken!' ;p
You like factory made pop beats during intense action? The English score is superior for this movie. Not just the rocks bands but the "score" itself. The instrumentals and sounds are better.
