I watched this in 2010 and anticipated 2020 so he can review Raid 2020, and now.... RAID 2020!

Crazy how accurately they predicted everything. Especially the eyeball guy. Remember how those guys were all over the place in 2010? I remember I fought an eyeball guy waiting in line for movie tickets.

The part where you got way off-track was definitely the best.

Nothing like enjoying a cold beer and watching AVGN on a warm summer night.

My favorite AVGN moment of all time is in this episode. His mannerisms and the seriousness of his tone when he says "YOU PRESS DOWN TO SHOOT DIAGONALLY UP" cracks me up EVERY time and I say it on a daily basis for no reason.

And in pretty exactly a year, it'll be the 20 year anniversary of the 2000s, and so far the future is still disappointing.

to be fair, street fighter a.k.a fighting street is an perfect arcade port. trying to do special moves are very hard to pull off and all the voices sound horrible. it's exactly like the arcade game.

I was here ten years ago, and will be here ten years from now.

"Ken" and "The Final Fight" were both Capcom USA localization tricks. I'll post the Japanese story below: Humankind sought a new land to claim. They began emigrating to other worlds. In this society made up of humans and aliens, atrocious crimes were committed. Thus began one of humanity’s darkest times... The criminals were able to harness the incredible power of many cyborgs... but in 2010 AD, creatures called "parasites" with much more destructive power appeared. These parasites would merge with a body, causing it to grow a beetle-like shell of armor, and so bring forth considerably more power. To confront this situation, the galaxy police sent the cyborg officer Kevin Straker. His orders are to destroy the parasites and gather their power, which would open a dimensional gate to the next area, though the gate would only remain open for 10 seconds, after which it'd close and Kevin would die. With this in mind, he sets out on his mission.

It's 2019, and there're no hoverboards or flying cars.

This video is now 14 years old today.

One of my favorite things in the review is the fact that when he says "We'll all be dead," the music just abruptly cuts off.

This is definitely one of James' top 5 reviews, mainly for the boss battle stage. He really takes us there.

10 years later and so thankful for this video, introduced me to the game, that it wasn’t a fighting game which i never liked, got hooked and went through the same difficulty of learning it and mastering the control and how to efficiently get through each level. Beating it feels like a real accomplishment after what it puts you through

Wow, I had totally forgotten about this game. Beating this pos was the best. And I had bought this when it came out cause I thought it was Street Fighter. Also I used to play Street Fighter on arcade at a store called Gibsons when I was a kid. Good times and thanks for the review and trip down memory lane

Nope, it's 2015 and yet no hover cars, no flying skateboards, no self lacing shoes, no self drying jackets, no ovens that super size and fully cook your mini pizzas in seconds, and gamers are still gaming with their hands. I guess that will teach me to put so much faith in a movie centered around a time traveling DeLorean.

Honestly, despite it being flawed and freaking difficult. It's a pretty good game. I wonder if anyone has made a fan mod out of it? With some work, this game could be a real classic.

The replayability of AVGN videos is insane. I also casually watch his videos, and have bad short term memory. So with James’ 150+ videos, I can quite literally continue to watch his videos for the rest of my life. I’ve watched this episode before, but I don’t remember jack shit from it. Thank you James, AVGN is precious to me.

I beat this game today. It was fucking awesome. On the final stage, I never really had problems with the time limit. I did have problems not getting my shit pushed in by some of the 5 bosses. "fuckbrain" (14:54) is a pain in the ass. I fucking hate him. He has no "pattern". When he's going to throw his spike-hand, you've got 3 posibilities. >He's gonna shoot forward and push your face in >He's gonna go up >He's gonna swing So, in that tiny portion of a second where he indicates he's going to attack, you have to take a guess. Fuck that. I just standed there and blasted him intil that fucker exploded.

Well, Back to the Future was wrong. We don't have self-tying shoelaces, hoverboards or flying cars. They should have made it 3015.

The fact that I keep going to this vid shows the absolute resiliency of the AVGN series.
