Alpha 1 was the fresh new face. I didn’t have coins to play most of the time so I studied the demo play a lot. Once I got money to play, I practises every day after school til the arcade closed. It was the game where I met my best friend. We battled so many times. Everyone would watch us. Then I would find out later that we went to the same school. Alpha 2 was the game that solidified it for me. The best SF game I’ve ever played. So many memories!
Clinton Fraser - I know that... is been like that for many...many years (since the famicom / nintendo entretaining system (nes)). There is a list of great titles that stay in japan, and never came out overseas. But if it come out overseas, overseas gets a crappy version.... instead of just translate the game, they change the whole game or gets the worst versions from japan.
Street Fighter Alpha 3 is still my personal favorite throughout the whole Street Fighter franchise. And I like how Capcom made these videos, showing where the series started and how its been with newer entry, back in the day.
alpha series is the only series ive never played from street fighter! i am so excited to get my hands on it because Cody is my favorite fighting game character in any game. so excited.
Alpha is my favourite SF series titles, and while I fully acknowledge that Alpha 3 has the best mechanics/roster, I still prefer Alpha 2 as a "game" because of the magnificent music and the tight combat that didn't get bogged down with flashiness, and the sheer nostalgia factor :D

I read on Wikipedia that the games were straight emulation of their arcade counterparts. It's Wikipedia and anyone can edit it, but I wouldn't be surprised if we couldn't have access to the extra characters. I'm hoping for the best though. I need a full roster so I can get *CRUSHED* on PSN. 🤤

I got it early and I am playing it on my Xbox one X and it is a fantastic collection. So many great retro titles for the Xbox, i’m happy to be playing this and add it to my collection.
SFA3 is still my favorite in the Alpha series and unarguably one of the top 3 best SF games ever made, if not one of the top 10 best fighting games in general ever created.
Alpha 2 is the best Street Fighter of all time. Best Narrator as it is just simple and powerful "Fight" would rather have Marvel Super Heroes and Xmen vs Streetfighter for preorder bonus.
Capcom needs to release a VS series collection next. Xmen vs Street fighter, Marvel Vs Capcom 1+2+3, Tatsonoko VS Capcom, Capcom VS SNK 1+2. Man I would buy that hard!
Wow I've never played or really heard much about the alpha series. I'm a huge fan of turbo and third strike but I definitely cannot wait to try out alpha 2 and 3
Basically borrowing from SNK not just some of their characters even battle mechanics even the isms before I started a match. SNK pave the fighting scene as well but some of you fanboys may deny it
Companies borrow stuff from each another... that's perfectly normal. Capcom used many things created by SNK. But in the end, SF still has the biggest credits for what it did for the genre.
In a general way, the genre in its 2d field has always been shaped in its fundamental form by Capcom's ideas, while SNK has always been responsible for enhancing what Capcom makes, and more experimental with these ideas. Each one have their merits.
lol? doesnt matter who started it, its the ones that become popular and are fun to play that mean something. just look at foods or music, people borrow things all the time and put a spin on it to make it better
Street Fighter Alpha 3 Upper is my favorite Street Fighter Game of All-Time. Too bad that version isn't on here to be playable. It's stuck in the Dreamcast & PS2.
SF Alpha 3 needs all characters from last update!!! I'm not going to buy this game till it becomes a complete game like they did over time with Street Fighter 5 because it needs Street Fighter Alpha gold and Street Fighter Alpha upper it would be nice if they had all the characters from the console versions but that might be asking too much, capcom would have to do some work.
I can't wait to put all the street fighters on my youtube channel. And i'm letting viewers decide which characters get their videos in the order they want.
