Leon Jones Sorry I didn't think to research Canadian rappers in preparation for commenting on this Street Fighter video. I guess I'm just an ignorant American bruh.
Fun fact: the rapper in this had to write three songs in one day for Capcom the day after he was hired on to make the theme. And my god he made the intro, the character select, and the credits.
I love this type of rap from this era, '90s/early '00s. The jazzy instrumentation, the record scratch sound effects, the line delivery, all working together to make some great music.
Me too! Modern rap is just too artificial, nothing natural, that's what's wrong with it. All it has now is synthesizers and generic drums rather than real drums and instruments.
"Yeah, I see." "Yeah, that makes sense" "Yeah, I get the picture" "Yeah, I've been waiting for this!" "That's what I expected" "NO-NO-NO-NOW... FIGHT A NEW RIVAL!"
I really appreciate what they did for us 90s babies. I beginning to think the privileged 90s babies had the best childhood of all time past future present
Take it seriously and go hard fear makes a poor artist, though you may fear, clear it for your work, then work it. Because there's nothing to fear. YOU are cool.
Here's the lyrics to the song =D Check It out Now, Check it out Yo Check it out Now, 3rd Strike Yo Yo, I know ya got your options So pick the right bid Some choices to make And mad ruckus to bring Just hooked on it Da bodies, who want it I don't know where you got your skills from Jump off it Bring it on, any opponent or contender No one can stop this With guns or objects As far as I'm concerned, yo it's only one topic Join the Street Fighters from bare hands to toxic If you're an average warrior, I be the master I could teach you how to fight and move faster One false move kid, that'd be disaster I'll beat you endless and continue the day after Street Fighter 3, that's right, the third chapter This game's for real, no blond's and no actors Pick your character, know one to represent your life We're stompin anybody so make the choice right (Let's get it on now) Select to make your first pick (Let's get it on Yo) 10, 9, 8, 7, 6 (Let's get it on Yo) Choose and pick the best one (Let's get it on now) 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 Repeated X4 One box Could leave you messed up and fractured Block these uppercuts, they made me the captured May the best fighter win and win again Battle to the top until his life ends But if his life ends and he starts to decay May one of us street soldiers finish things See ya talkin to the game couldn't be talkin to me I got enough to beat and more soldiers to bury You know, we just clicked in and made you realize This game is twice as hard You see that with your own eyes You're on the way to choose your type of life cause ya gotta I tell you from now, which fighter will be the hotter I don't think you've won this one, just practice Just challenge me when your ready, weight your tactics High punches, spin-kicks, watch the back-split I see you in the air when I make you back-flip
the fact infinite wrote this and 2 other songs for this game in less then 24 hrs before he had to record it and he did voice lines for the announcer is insane
@@ItzMeCrispy yes i think it's still the case , and it have a lot of good memories with friends for me, totally forgot about my comment on this video 🙂
This soundtrack sounds pretty good. Has that east coast Hip Hop and Jazz vibe in it. I love the somewhat realistic art direction. Street Fighter 3:Third Strike is a pretty underrated game!

HIP HOP fits so fucking well with all of the characters in this game, usually it just feels ''cringe'' or whatever and characters try to look cool and stuff but it usually never works and just ends up as the developers trying to hard or just failing. But all of the characters in this game look sick af, I love this game so fucking much, everything about it is just fantastic! Timeless masterpiece.
I love how the writer of the song isn't too in the nose with the references in the game. That countdown in the lyrics is a nice touch as the select screen has that countdown timer.
The fact this game and track came out where hip hop was truly revolutionary and still infamous for their language rappers and topics truly feels someone at capcom was a fan of the genre and I don’t blame them
The upcoming *Street Fighter 6* which FINALLY continues AFTER Street Fighter III here, is giving me the same vibes SFIII here has. The music, attitude, (even) older characters, character designs, atmosphere, everything. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Im a grown man and I might start rapping this to myself absentmindedly while I do something throughout the years. On several occasion throughout the years, some other guys who work there would chime in and rap it too. Just a weird and cool thing to discover you were a fan of some 2000s game just like other people- but to discover it by rapping the character select screen. I hope the creator of this song always carries around the understanding of what a cool thing his creation was to a whole generation's youth.
3:11 to 3:30 Don't fall into tragedy. Always be full of happiness! You can never lose hope. No pain no gain. Make this the end of your inferiority complex! Remember to keep it hot forever!!! Now....you must continue!!!
Shame this song didn't make it into Smash. It would've been so funky hearing this as Ryu beats the living hell out of Princess Peach. Wait, that came out wrong.
DrScaphandre I agree. All they did was use 3 versions of Ryu's Theme and 3 version of Ken's Theme from Street Fighter 2. I was kinda disappointed by the lack of Street Fighter 3 & 4 music myself.
you see I'm not too good at fighting games ESPECIALLY Capcom ones (which i hate because Capcom's JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is amazing and i suck...). I find Her difficult af to beat. but not as hard as Remy or Gill (all of which i can beat, with luck and patience)
Really wished the character select theme in 6 was half as good as this song. It just baffles me how many rap/hip hop bangers we have gotten in recent years yet SF6's theme just feels so "been there done that" while this theme still feels fresh.
In this game don't just pick anybody but try everybody because guess what it's as RYU says from one of his quotes TO TRY SOMETHING NEW IS TO EXPLORE TRUE POTENTIAL.
The Rapper is Infinite. He is from Rexdale Toronto Canada. I listened to him a lot in the late 90s as a kid and actually own one of his EP albums. He was a DJ for a Canadian Rap group in the 90s called Ghetto Concept before going solo. I believe he actually started putting out new music a few years back again also, still sounds the same.
No. This theme for the character selection is a Mozart classic. This sounds so like d&b jungle mix. It really does sound like d&b jungle mix with a mixture of Hiphop and Brazilian Jazz 🤗😌
SF6 is going back to 3rd Strike Hype! So far, 6 is looking impressive with the urban/street ambiance and music. I hope the mechanics of the game will be worthy of praise.
If i could, I would open a low-key fighting-game themed coffee shop that only opens a night and only plays Street Fighter 3 music. That would be such a vibe.
As someone who grew up in the 90's, but didn't have chance to go to arcades or even get into fighting games much, I can't believe this game exists! Everything about it just feels like the epitome of what I grew up with and bursting with personality, not to mention how great the animation is. On top of that, it's crazy that this is a Street Fighter game, it feels so different in terms of music and presentation compare to what the pop culture osmosis has told me about that franchise. It makes me depressed I wasn't able to play it at the time since this almost seems made for me.
It straight up makes me mad that Capcom, for some reason, just stopped pouring so much love into their game's soundtracks. On my life, Dreamcast brought out the best in Capcom.
@@Jin-lp5lt From what I've heard, the Street Fighter games played better on Sega consoles (Saturn in particular). And this game did come out for the Dreamcast.
I was a big arcade rat in the 90s and played SF hardcore. I played all the other iterations of SF3. I was perplexed with the rap selection. As a kid growing up in the 80s and 90s I just never thought I'd hear hip hop infused in a video game. My mind was blown
It makes no sense how good this song is... From the beat to the old school style of rap to the lyrics. Listening just takes you back to the early 90s where life was at its best. Crazy
This rap song is still pretty dope for it's age.for an video game music including street fighters this is one of the tracks i remembering hearing the Most in this game A Lot
Welcome to the world of Street Fighter 3. Prepare for battle. Well, I got your picture. Yeah, I've been waiting for this! Yeah, that makes sense! That's what I expected! Yeah, I see.
I'd like to think this song and how this soundtrack in general was received is what made Capcom take a similar approach with sf6's soundtrack but damn they need this guy involved!!!
Dang, now I understand Street Fighter 6 more. We need more games taking inspiration from 3rd Strike, hip hop/rap and great gameplay, go together so well.
