I like that JP effectively went from M. Bison's cash clerk to utilizing his signature power to a degree far more efficient than we've ever seen. Bison used Psycho Power via brute force and physical exertion, but JP knows that shit is beneath him and instead summons _giant interdimensional thorns and clones._

To me, Bison is like the G1 Megatron/classic Shredder of fighting games. He was treated like a typical Saturday morning cartoon villain but then he got later on developed to be more ruthless and brutal. I would like to think JP is either Bison's Soundwave or Shockwave. Probably that JP isn't unlike other hechmen who follow Bison out of blind loyalty or lust for power. He's more of a philosopher and thinks logical which probably why Bison appears to trust him most, despite being a mere peasant.

Well after JP got Ken f***ed up in the Nayshall world news, guess M. Bison gave Ed and Johan a.k.a JP for his 2 "Psycho Powers". I wonder if the OG Street Fighters like Ryu, Chun-Li, Cammy and Guile are gonna reactions to from "Shadaloo" to "Shadaloo 2.0"?

They did this with Mortal Kombat too. Turns out a character introduced in MK10 was working for Shao Kahn since MK 2. And we're supposed to just run with it I guess. Not sure how I feel about either example

Hardly secretly. He straight up admitted he worked as Bison's financial officer. I guess, the organization's accountant? I imagined there would be a lot of people who worked for Bison that didn't need to fight. They just managed the inner workings of the organization in the back ground. He just wasn't as important back then. Still, I dunno what his motive is. He doesn't seem to want to conquer the world the same way that Bison does. He's just laundering money for an evil organization he inherited.

@@FinalHaunt lol ya im not with it but whatever. sure JP was part of bisons empire all along. like a snake tho. like seth. but its amusing JP is out here talking about psycho power like he is a master of it and was its og weilder. i love to see what ingrid feels about JP and see her put him in his place. as that psycho power is actually related to her and her power. hope capcom hasnt forgotten her since sfa3 tho. she needs to be DLC and injected into the story asap!!!

I really like JP. He has this menacing aura about him but he doesn't strike me as... evil, per se. He clearly has the same kind of moral corruption as what a villain should have but he is pretty staunchly opposed to ruling through violence. Like, even if he finds himself in an antagonistic position, you don't get the feel that he's some comically eeeEEEEeeevil villain.

He comes off as a more "polite" kind of villain who chooses to show dominance and influence through sheer intelect and wisdom rather than murder and fear. He may just be an antithesis to Bison by been the complete opposite of him.

The lore in SF6 and JP relation to psycho power sounds like a much better way to build up for Violent Ken's appearance than the ol "capturing and brainwashing by Shadowloo".

Kinda assumed JP was one of the three students of that one master who is capable of using Psycho Power (the other two students being Bison himself and someone else) What's curious is JP mentioned experiments trying to instill Psycho Power into subjects, as well as having worked for Shadaloo behind some desk job, and yet it doesn't exactly sound like JP was part of said experiment, or that anyone else even noticed his existence within Shadaloo, which makes it even more intriguing. Even moreso if you consider that most, if not all, of Bison's other experiments, were meant to be used as potential new bodies and supersoldiers for Bison. Bodies like Abel, the Dolls like Decapre, Ed and Falke who were children used for the experiment and are now founders of Neo Shadaloo. They were meant to be replacements for Bison's body, meant to serve him and they all eventually break free and grow to hate Bison, with Ed and Falke still being haunted by Bison. But JP is *none* of those. He's not meant to be a replacement body, his mastery with Psycho Power actually seems on par with Bison's, at least before all the strength amplifications such as the Black Moons, and he does not exactly loathe Bison or seem to explicitly have any trauma from Shadaloo or whatever. It's weird, like even with this I still don't know who JP exactly is

I would also add that JP was already an old man when he worked for Shadaloo, and as the other characters known to have been forcibly experimented on Psycho Power are all young, ranging from late-20s to literal children, JP also feels unlikely to be someone who'd be a replacement body candidate. He's old, which would not make him likely to be able to sustain the amount of Psycho Power Bison wishes to have, and he does not possess and combat skills since he's just some finance officer. Of course, JP CAN fight but he vere rarely outwardly does battle, so something like that would be a secret to most, even to Bison himself since Bison has always been blinded by arrogance (hence why he didn't even notice the Illuminati or thinks they're a joke while F.A.N.G. was fully aware of their existence and what they do, hell F.A.N.G. was aware of a lot of things Bison wasn't ngl since he did most of the work while Bison simply got stronger). Also a slim chance that even as early as then JP already had his whole money laundering stuff and already went by different aliases

JP got Psycho Power from and through Bison. He even says so in the game and makes it clear to the player that the power he will bestow upon you is Bison's power. Bison is also likely much older than JP but it doesn't show because Bison has many bodies. JP is not an experiment, he's someone who saw an opportunity during the fall of Shadaloo to get some power for himself and took/learned everything he could before the complete collapse of the organization. It's not complicated. Shadaloo is massive with thousands of members, and Bison only invites the strong to join. JP was likely strong even if he had a "desk job". Lastly, the story the students with Bison is long forgotten. Bison killed his master and became the sole master of PP in the known SF universe.

I guess it’s obvious in hindsight but, I didn’t realize Psycho Power is a mental power of the psyche manifested. My assumption (since it’s implied by Oro and Dhalsim’s talk in SFV) was that Psyche Power is no different than the Satsui no Hado, just in how it’s used. Essentially, the classic Ki energy can either align with positive or negative amplifications. Ryu, after overcoming his surge of murderous intent, is able to find the perfect Ki balance. However, now that JP has clarified that PP is a “mental” based power, it puts into context that M.Bison’s psycho drive and FANG’s operation CHAINS (black moon) is to fill the world with enough duress and fear to gather that subset of Ki from emotion. So Ki is both a spiritual, physical, AND mental component to giving the Street Fighter Universe powers.

This does give some credence for the possibility of Ken going "Violent", but this time thanks to JP, which seems suspiciously interested in Ken going back to fighting. We got him in USF2 anyway, so might as well bring him at full force.

JP aint no ryu. that said i wonder how much psycho power JP can handle before he explodes. guess he didnt figure out that the stronger u get in psycho power u need to make sure ur current body can handle all the power or start looking for a stronger body that can handle such.

Oh my GOODNESS!!!!😱😱 JP is working with M. Bison??? So M. Bison and the Shadaloo crew are had been working with their pasts few years like, decades ago. And now JP a.k.a Johan Petrovich IS helping with M. Bison?? Now it all makes sense to me, I guess Shadaloo had already dead and gone and now JP is been hidden with the working of his own new crew called "Amnesia". I been reading for Street Fighter comic books like a fictional fighter book for years now! So for next year is 2024 with the New Year of Street Fighter 6, so Ed is the 3rd DLC character, he's the one that M. Bison gave him a 2nd "Psycho Power" for all this time. (Amazing timing Capcom!😁😁)

Fighting game villains in the past were mostly straight about what they were , powerful men in the criminal underworld, JP operates from the shadows posing as a good guy. He should be given more of a chance , he fits the modern day of fakery very well.
