Overall, a very nice effort by Capcom back in '92... Most of the SNES owners that I knew were NOT complaining at all about the differences back then; they were all way too happy and excited just to own a faithful port of SF2 on their home consoles. Everybody would either race home or head straight to the arcades to play this game after school everyday; rain OR shine. I will never forget those golden days if my youth!

That home version along with arcade sticks with the SNES allows us to go to colleges and defeat those college boys at SF2. SNES allowed me and my friends to save money and defeat those arrogant college boys. We got so good at playing SF2 we were giving them second round and teaching them different combos that they can do with all the characters. After that, it was law to give second round to loser to make the game last longer so we can learn more combo fight moves.

SO TRUE, in 92 we all loved SF2, it was always packed with kids, and when the SNES port came out it was like a dream, i remember seeing a kiosk on a electronics shop near my home and everyday was full packed, with long lines to play it.

@@feiwong3634 Sounds like when I was a kid, except I wasn't that outgoing. But, I do have memories of when I would go to my granny's house and visit my cousins; one of them had Street Fighter II for his SNES, and he'd invite his boys over to play. I'd get in my few rounds too until I eventually got my own cartridge, which I've kept since 1993

92 was such a great year that will always hold a special place in my heart. Watching Jordan hit those 3's and watching the Original Dream Team was unforgettable to me. But as far as video games and the SNES goes..... for me...... summer of 92......was the summer of Street Fighter 2! I will never forget getting out of school that summer. I would be spending a couple of weeks with grandma down in NC. My mom had a cool idea why don't you take your SNES down there with you to help keep you company. I thought it was a great idea. So I packed my SNES and my little VHF/UHF tube TV with me. On the way we stopped at Toys R Us and lucky me I got to pick out a game to take with me. I had been following Street Fighter 2 since I had seen it for the first time in arcades the previous fall of 91. I also picked up that GamePro mag with Ryu on the cover earlier in the year in 92 and I still have it today. So when I went inside Toys R Us I had no idea what I was going to get......and there it was....I had no idea it was even out! What!!! I can't believe it! Street Fighter 2! Man I picked up the last one in the store!! When I got the game and got into the car I had no idea the journey I was about to go on and how that day would change my life forever. When I got to grandmas house I got unpacked, hooked my little TV up in her den and my SNES up to it. It was some kids in my grandma's neighborhood that I knew that were around my age and a little bit older that I use to hang with and when they found out I had Street Fighter 2 on the SNES..... .my grandma's house was flooded with kids in the neighborhood. Everyday it was new kids in the city who would come down and knock on my door just because they heard I got Street Fighter 2 on Super Nintendo. I mean my grandma's house had become the neighborhood house for real that summer. Dudes that were younger then me, dudes that was older then me, dudes who was in high school at the time and even a few college kids would come over and play Street Fighter 2 with me. I'm serious all the thugs and dudes who had slapped the teacher they all were welcome to come through and get some of grandma's cooking and play Street Fighter 2 with me! Straight up! Summer of 92! Street Fighter 2! I had both systems back in 92. Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis. The games I picked up in 92 were Legend of the Mystical Ninja earlier in the year, Street Fighter 2 that summer, I got Sonic 2 that fall, and since I'm a December baby so I got Turtles in Time on my birthday and Streets of Rage 2 for Christmas. I was blessed!!!!!!!!

Yeah!!! When we find out about the games going to the stores, no pre order, no internet to tell us the exact date of release. I still remember arriving to the mall and seeing the intro of super street fighter 2 for the snes for the first time. Me and my brothers were shocked, did not know it was out already. We came back home and joined each part of our savings to go next day to buy it. It is still a great memory.

@@KanoKnife Yeah man! Those were some great times! To follow up with what you said I remember going into my local Elections Boutique in Summer of 93 asking when would Street Fighter 2 Turbo would come out for the SNES. The guy working there was like we got it right now!!! I said what!!!!! He said I'm going to get it for you right now and he said you could have it for free!! I said whaaaaaaaat! He was lying but he went to the back and came back with a VHS tape with a preview of Street Fighter 2 Turbo on it before it came out on the SNES. It was the same tape that was playing in the display TV that you would see when you would walk by the store. He let me hold it for a few days. I looked at that tape religiously everyday until I gave it back. I was playing football at the time trying to get ready for the start of the season. I had stretched the ligaments in my MCL playing intramural basketball at school right before school let out. I was in leg brace and doing rehab most of that summer so that I could be ready for when football practice would start back up in August. That VHS tape gave me a lot of joy during that time of my injury. When I went back up to Electronics Boutique and gave the tape back they gave me an exact date of when Street Fighter 2 Turbo would come out on the SNES. I was able to go up there and purchase it day one!!! As far as the contents of what was on that VHS Tape I was able to find it years ago surprisingly on RU-vid!!!! The creation of SF2 for the SNES was, to me, the beginning of the end of arcades and arcade games as we know it. The port was almost identical, and nothing was lost. We paid $60 for it, and that was a BARGAIN compared to the amount of quarters we put in the arcade machines. With that type of transition, why would anyone want to spend the money at an arcade, if they were only after one or two games anyway? I do miss arcades in general, but won't forget the fun times my friends and I had on the SNES.

I prefer the SNES' colors and some music tracks, just like the hard attack impact SFX. Some SFX are generally better on SNES imo, they're meaty and bone crunching. When it comes to SF2 Turbo and Super SF2, I even prefer the 16bit ports to the arcade, they're faster and more fluid to play. The SF2 games are definitely the most iconic fighting games of the 16bit home console generation.

Dell audio della versione snes mi infastidiva molto il fatto Che in prossimità del K. O il tema non variava ma Accellerava soltanto i bpm..se eri abituato a giocare alla versione arcade era davvero insopportabile !!!

I love the SNES version better cuz it has better music & graphics than the arcade one does. The SNES version sound like it's on a modern console compared to the Arcade. The SNES does have a unique sound chip. And it's also easy to play with the controller with the control pad better than the stick

The sprite work on SNES was clearly inferior to the arcade, but I always felt the colours looked more vibrant on the SNES. I also preferred the more crunching hit impact sound effects and the custom music on the SNES also.

The snes shows 128/256 colors and the arcade a lot more...... Something like 1200 colors. And the display in arcade is much better. You cant compare arcade hardware cost 8000 dollars with a 200 dollars snes console, lol😂😂
@Longlostpuss

@@dlfrsilver I already know and said the arcade version is visually superior overall, there's no doubt about that, I'm just saying the SNES colour to the naked eye just off initial glance looks punchier. I'm not saying cleaner or more accurate, I'm just saying punchier, it's really vibrant through the choices that they used, even if more limited.

@Longlostpuss 11 месяцев назад
@@dlfrsilver What on earth are "fat pixels"??? That's not a technical term, is it?? First time I've ever heard of SNES graphics referred to as that, you're going to have to explain the difference between that and Genesis graphics and why you make it sound like it's such a bad thing in comparison.
@dlfrsilver
@dlfrsilver 11 месяцев назад
@@Longlostpuss the SNES has fat pixels, the megadrive thin pixels. This is due to the very low resolution used by the SNES (256x224). The Arcade is 384x224 and the Megadrive 320x240. The smaller the resolution, the bigger the pixels are. The SNES is a toy, the Genesis a console that is a downgrade of the arcade system 16 hardware.
