Street Fighter II : the World Warrior Arcade Game ! Gameplay, Artwork, Cabinet Video 

Streetfighter 2 was the only happiest memory I had of my teenage years.

This game is a classic. I remember standing in line waiting to challenge the winner. It was great 👍

I was in high school when SF2 was at its peak and my God, was it a phenomenon. Our local arcade, in Glendale Ca, had literally an entire row dedicated to only SF2. All taken up by competitors. Guile was my dude.

It even has the message from the FBI that says "Winners don't use drugs" XD good times

I was in middle school when Street Fighter 2 came out, it was probably one of the most popular game, you even play it at some laundromats, 7-Eleven, Billards, and restaurants, and there would be a line just to play the game,

This came out when i was 10 years old and it was my entire life!

I was born in 92 so this game and MK2 was probably the first video games I ever played. I lived by a laundry matt that had a very beat up streetfighter 2 cabinet that I would frequently play. E. Honda gots them hands. lol

I've spent a childhood inside of a 7-11 because of this game :)

In 1991 I got a job at Tilt in the Six Flags mall in Arlington Texas. This was our NUMBER ONE game by far. People told me they came from far away to play our game because it was in an old SF1 case which was HUGE and gave the players more room. A couple years later I was promoted to manager of a much smaller Tilt location. I had about 20 games and took about 1200 a week to the bank. 1000 of that was from Street Fighter II.

Finally: a video of an ACTUAL SF2 cabinet and not an Arcade1up. I've been looking for DAYS!

This game changed everything. Arcades were on the way out much earlier without this game. Pretty much made me a gamer for life. When I think of the best 3 games I've ever played it's super Mario, Zelda and street fighter.

If you stare at the boardwalk on blankas stage, it starts looking 3D. Great individuals working at Capcom.

I remember the big draw for this game at the time was the sheer size of those sprites. It was like looking up at a huge roman statue in awe. I spent alot of time in the arcade because of this game, waiting in line for my turn to inevitably lose. :D

I first played this in the arcades as a ten year old, one thing I miss is that good old atmosphere where anybody could just come over and put a coin into player 2 to challenge you and you could have a huge crowd gathering to watch the fight. 😂 man those were the days also the audio quality on these cabinets was really good.

I still remember being 13 years old lining up to play this at our local Video Ezy in the suburbs of Sydney, AUS.

I used to spend hours after school at the arcade playing this game. And watching others play this game. lol

The entire neighborhood used to think Ryu was asking "Are YOU Ken?" "are YOU Ken?" "ARE ARE you Ken?"

I played this game so much as a kid. I feel like every pizza place had it. I would goto a restaurant just to play it. Lol

This was in a convenient store when I was a kid, then they replaced it with champion edition, then world heroes. This is my favorite maybe because it was the first one I played. Would walk,run, or bike just to put in 1or 2 quarters lol. Also I saw adults do glitches on them where guile had handcuffs to freeze the game, and chun lee used bracelets. It would freeze the game. I like how Ryu stage has signs to hit, more drums on ken, and a fire drum special stage. Also Guile uses a quicker jab that stuns every time. They got rid of it though.

It's interesting how this cabinets have not the same graphic as ordinary old TV's and the pixels kind of mix together creating a really nice look.

That dude in the background (Ryu/Chun Li fight) was really going to town choking the chicken ;-)

i was 10 when this came out, i had to watch thru the swarm of teens at the corner store, but i stayed home from school sick one day and walked to the corner store with a pocket full of quarters knowing i was about to have my day in the sun....this game changed arcades for me that day forever

i was 12, 10 or could've even been 11 in 1991 and was a total sports nut/nerd and didn't really care for the rest of the 'junk' out there street fighter (home edition) nevah really bothered me, but it didn't nevah gotten me addicted to it neither :^D U GOTZ FIRED!!

The most definitively early 90's looking cabinet ever.. I didn't play this much when it was brand new, I was a bit young (still single digits..) and the controls confused me.. A few years later though I played this thing to death at a local laundromat... That and the Ms.Pac-Man next to it..

10:12 fun fact: "sheng long" is not a person, it is a translation mistake, means "dragon punch" - referring to the big uppercut attack of ryu (and ken). this was fixed in later versions of the game

One of the most impressive things about that game was how much faster it was than Street Fighter. Look at it! I was more of a Mortal Kombat player. I could win that with one coin.

I live in Asia and I don't even know that Street Fighter has a cabinet that looks like a Mortal Kombat cabinet. All I know is a Egret cabinet from Taito or Naomi cabient from Sega, and need a seat to play.

I bought the Arcade1up cocktail head to head table because it has stereo sound and it has World Warrior and Hyper Fighting which was not in the SF upright Arcade1up cabinet. And the picture looks sharper, not so "blocky" and pixelated like the upright. They improved the wave 2 (2019) Arcade1ups over the wave 1's (2018). TMNT though looks pixelated and not as smooth without scanlines but it is stereo and the buttons feel cheap compared to real arcade buttons. I'll have to try the Street Fighter head to head and see how the buttons are, joystick, and the sound and graphics. I get it on Friday delivered. I have the games on xbox and ps4 both roms and the new collection, and Final Fight, but I like the arcade1ups, and I want to have a mini arcade in my room with a few cabinets of my favorite games. The head to head also has Final Fight, another one of my favorites that I played in arcades in the 90's. It cost $400 but I think it's worth it with the higher quality, stereo sound, and better monitor and picture than the wave 1's.

I felt the same way as you, I was only 16 years old when Street Fighter 2 came out and I thought it was the greatest arcade game ever honestly and crowds of guys would wait for their turn to play by putting their quarters up on the machines but then when the champion edition came out I was like wow that was even better because you could play with the boss characters also and then when the turbo version came out I thought it would be impossible for an arcade game to be even better than that because it played so much faster the turbo version of Street Fighter 2 and even to this day Street Fighter 2 turbo is still my single favorite arcade video game ever but I loved all the Street Fighter 2 games more than any other arcade games ever personally, I never really got into the Street Fighter 3 games all that much and the original Street Fighter the special moves were way too hard to pull off, I did play several other Street Fighters later like the Alpha ones or Street Fighter 4 which were all good as well and I played tons of other fighting games but to me Street Fighter II and all its incarnations were really revolutionary just like you say for sure regarding fighting games and arcade games at the time!

These still sell for a good price easily converted with ras pie up grade and keep the vintage cabinet original

when this first came out, i was overwhelmed by the graphics. but boy i s**ked at this game.

I ain't gonna lie, the amount of money I spent at the local grocery shop in '91 when this came out could probably buy me a car today, and not because I lost, but I played it every day, 5, 6 hours... until it came out on the SNES :) Annoyingly, Guile isn't the only AI character that cheats, they all do... none of the AI characters wait the required 2-second rule to complete their moves like we have to, IE: Chun Li's spinning bird kick, Blankas Roll, Hondas flying head charge and of course, Guile... they're always instantaneous... the cheating bastards :)

I played this same game at Hersheypark. Last time I went there, it was a month ago. I even beated the game there, even though I did use some continues. I even cheered for myself when I beated M.
