Super Street Fighter 1 A new Chinese character and new English character got added in. Chun Li from China and Cammy from England is in. Chun Li and Cammy were from the second Street Fighter, and in the first Street Fighter game, there were three Japanese characters (includes Ryu), three American characters (includes Ken), two Chinese characters, two English characters, and two Thailand characters. According to one of the websites, Adon and Sagat were the only Thailand characters throughout the whole Street Fighter series. I thought M. Bison and Rolento were from Thailand, and I was not thinking about adding M. Bison in, because I was thinking that Sagat was hard enough in the first Street Fighter game. I saw a remake with Cody added in, and another remake with Dan added in. Cody originated from Final Fight, and Dan originated from the Street Fighter Alpha series.
the problem with the original street fighter is the unresponsive controls and clunky animation. you fixed it here. looks great. game speed is just a little too fast though.
So here we have Motorola 68000 based arcade board game (Street Fighter) with PC Engine CD music (Fighting Street; basically the same game) and a CPS2 announcer (Street Fighter Alpha). Whoever claims this remake to be the Frankenstein's Monster of fighting games clearly hasn't seen or heard of MUGEN.
AWESOME!! The way Ryu got lost in the thrall of The Satsu No Hadou when he gave The Dragon Punch ta Sagat and scar his chest has finally been canonized here.
Capcom's not doing that. The first Street Fighter was supposed to be like Karate Champ and Yie Ar Kung Fu, so you cannot play as the AI characters and the controls need to be stiff.
I ask myself the same question. I guess they so unsatisfied with the original game that they just pushed it aside and ignored it in favor of Street Fighter II. But then again I guess that's why fan projects like this exist. Because only the fans can provide other fans with more variety since Capcom just won't bother.
I remember reading in some forum somewhere where someone from CAPCOM says they want ppl to actually forget about the original STREET FIGHTER game. that's why the ALPHA series was created.
Forgotten Characters In This Game: -Joe -Geki -Retsu -Lee Characters Who Were Remembered And Then Featured In Later Games: -Ryu (Main Character of the games) -Ken (One of Ryu's best rivals) -Sagat (Ryu's original rival) -Adon -Gen -Birdie (I've only seen him in SFV. Don't know if he was in other games.) -Mike (He resembles Balrog. Also, Capcom was originally planning to name him M. Bison in America as well as Japan, but felt like they would face lawsuits for copying Mike Tyson's name. So, he's only named M. Bison in Japan. I'm pretty sure they created Balrog from Mike.) -Eagle Cody wasn't in the actual Street Fighter 1987, so he's not included.
Someone found out that Mike from Street Fighter 1 and Mike Bison (Japanese name) or Balrog (American name) are not the same person, but they do resemble the same person (named Mike Tyson), but they are both named Mike in the Japanese version, and Street Fighter is originally from Japan. It would be cool if Mike from Street Fighter 1 had Bison as his last name.

Awesome! Now all you need is to remake Street Fighter 3 by adding in a few more returning characters from 2 - preferably Vega, Sagat, E. Honda, Blanka, and maybe Guile.
@krmdagger1126 he's talking about ryu, Ken and Cody's stages music. They are from final fight cd. The themes for the other characters are from fighting street.
This is fan-made. It would be cool if Capcom really remade this game. They remade Street Fighter 2 on Nintendo Switch, but it was dissappointing that Gouken was not in there. Gouken was in the second Street Fighter movie, and made his appearance as a playable character in the fourth Street Fighter game. There are more Gouken references, but that would make my comment way too long.

Street Fighter 1 can only exist like that for fan-made ideas, but Capcom will never remake the game like that, because it was supposed to be like Karate Champ and Yie Ar Kung Fu, and making all the characters playable and the controls not stiff would ruin how the game was originally meant to be played like.

Cammy: Okay, if you insist. That does make it to three Chinese characters and three English characters, which makes it equal to how many Japanese and American people there are. I was added to the Street Fighter 2 roster on the later versions. Too bad Thailand is one character short from the other countries!
This remake. The original has a place in history, sure it was a bad game but it set the foundation for the evolution of fighting games and brought an end to the era of Karate Champ style "fighting" games. This remake however adds a lot in the technical department but little in the substance department. It is so strayed from the original to be its own product yet wears the name and skin of the game it is supposed to represent making it neither a "remake" nor a transformative work. At best, it is a homage.
Thee original is as close to the storyline as can be. Ryu just learned about the hadoken and shoryuken so it isn't easy to perform reliably in actual battle. This kinda ruins the canon as they shoot fireballs like madmen. Only a boss like Sagat did those wild Tiger blows in rapid succession. It made him a fearsome boss that give players a sense of challenge akin to a deathmatch. Here it takes no effort to spam high damage fireballs and get a quick victory. Overall a nice creative effort to remake but takes away the essence of the original game.
Very cool take on SF1. Only criticism is the developers should have stick to the original fonts in place of SFA ones. They seem out of place in the game.
I now have the street fighter. 30th anniversary for Xbox one, for my birthday. Now i want to know what in the homeland happened to this one!?.i was looking forward to this one as well!?.the hell!?.
Lucia is my favorite character in Street Fighter 5. I would insist they add Chun Li and Cammy instead, because Poison and Lucia came later, but then again, some of the Street Fighter 2 characters were not in the third Street Fighter game, but returned in Street Fighter 4, so Poison and Lucia could be that way. My favorite character changes for each Street Fighter game, and it's kind of based on their fighting style, but I never choose the villians as my favorite character.
Other than the voices they're not at all the same, the synthesis method used for the sound effects in the arcade and the Turbo are fundamentally different, and the Turbo ones are much less offensive in the ears...

I did not like the voice acting from the first Street Fighter game. Sometimes, it's hard for me to understand what they are saying, because the voice does not sound clear enough.
people asked why is Cody in this and I would ask why is ken in it then since he's not in the first game.. what think the person tried to do is add the alpha series to first game as alpha shares some characters with the original game. alpha series is supposed to take place before Ryu first initial journey.
Some of the events in Street Fighter Alpha takes place before and after this game which is why Ryu still had the white head band and Ken is in the game. Also Alpha's Japanese title should indicate that as the game was called Street Fighter Zero.
