They've already confirmed that the starting roster will be 16 characters, made of 4 newcomers, 4 characters we haven't seen in a while, and 8 well known faces. Karin makes the final of the 4 that we haven't seen in a while. The others being Nash, Birdie and R.Mika. Which all happen to be from the Alpha series. All the returning well known characters originated from SF2, so it's a very safe bet the the two left to be shown will be from the same game too. Dunno if you noticed, but Capcom likes to do this thing where they grab groups of characters of certain games, not just throw randoms in from whatever title they feel like. I wouldn't get your hopes up for Alex and friends, they'll be much later down the track.
