It's been a love-hate relationship with this game, but it's starting to grow on me. Been really fun lately. The game allows some fun mechanics on the defensive end ie alpha counters and raw launchers to crush low attacks. And for any who believe this game has no potential keep this in mind. When sf4 first came out, everyone thought viper was crap. But now she's a very powerful character. The essence of the character didn't change. The player did.
Well, since it's free, I'm impressed with Capcom. I thought poorly of them after releasing Street Fighter 4 four seperate times, but this is a nice change of pace. I assume Namco had something to do with it.
I don't complain about the game at all. It is what it is and I bought it for what it is. I made sure I understood the game by playing it some more and even more. I practice and practice every day with computers at the hardest lever ever and it's still fun!
i dont understand how! ive never seen a company pay so much attention to a fighter ever... soul cal V still hasnt gotten that update they promised! you guys should feel lucky to have such a caring company xD
Knowing the modern day gaming community, it's not surprising that they feel they have to. Not to say Capcom hasn't messed up in the past, but the hate-hype runs strong with modern gamers.

True. But it did have Continuum Shift, Continuum Shift 2, and Continuum Shift Extend. That isn't as bad as all the Guilt Gear versions, but it's still significant.
No one said they are bad. But the fact remains that those games failed to reach the popularity of, say, Tekken 3, which is, of course, one on one fighter.
Harada said that they would start work on TxSF after the console release of Tekken Tag Tournament 2, so I can only assume that they've started work on it. Yet again, Harada's team is also working on the new Smash Bros. game, so who knows when we'll see any news about TxSF.
No one can say that other fighting games can't be accused of multiple updates. The Guilty Gear and BlazBlue series are badly guilty of that. And yet nobody gives those games a hard time.
"Coming to PC in 20XX!" Now, if they were actually bringing that over I'd be so happy. But WELP, the PC version's like 7 months behind the console versions right now, and as the newest patch is in paperwork modo, I don't think we'll see SFxT2013 on PC until at least the end of July.
apparently capcom finishing an incomplete game is hard work, personally we deserve a free update which fixes the issues they did not take the time to look into earlier.
omg this game is ridiculously fun and with the 2013 update looks even more. honestly TxSF won'f be more fun, it's like saying that tekken is more fun than Street Fighter

Well essentially everyone is getting a bit of everything with this patch, granted it isn't going to do anything about the timer running out during supers/cross-arts or Pandora but it will balance the game a bit more.
Man, back in the day they just do updates for free and never have to brag about how free it is, now it's like "it's totally free so you guys should be very grateful !" how the times have changed. But it's free nonetheless, so thank you Capcom!
Get this game. Trust me, Marvel is fun to watch because of the mechanic they put in to artificially make the game close all the time. But when the controller is in your hands, you want predictabilitty and stability. Not random
This update should be at least 2400ms points and Capcom you really need to quadruple all the SFXT dlc price tags cause they are ridiculous low for the amount of content we get. Seriously.
DLCs came first because they're easier to make compared to balance patches. You don't just simply change frame data, hurtbox, and other things without thinking of the consequences to the metagame.
It's called sarcasm. I was referring to around 3:00, which on terrible laptop speakers does sound like it's messing with bass. The song is not dubstep, and appropriately, SFxT is not esports. I guess you think trolls are worth criticizing as well.
In my opinion, MvC is meant for kids & casual players. I recall loving MvC1 back in the day, but now, I loath it. I just can't bring myself to dig its flashy nature, cartoon style & overly simplified mechanics. SF4 & its updates brought something I can really sink my teeth into: they were easy to begin with but offered so much more for those willing to push the limits of the newly introduced Focus Attack. With SFxT and its wide array of unnecessary mechanics, Capcom went at least 3 steps back
Beautiful update by Capcom now I only wish for a update for SSFIV A.E. With Sean from 3rd Strike or Remy or Even Alex?! It might happen but I won't get my hopes up anytime soon but it will be pretty sweet to see that get updated massively.
I wouldn't exactly consider the first Continuum Shift as a revision but a sequel because it introduced a new mechanic and changed the guard system. But Continuum shift 2 and Extend were nothing more then revisions. I completely agree with Guilty Gear though, it started with Guilty Gear XX and is now Guilty Gear XX Acent Core Plus R.
honestly i don't see much of what needed to be improved to actually be. now i may be a bit bias being a tekken fan first before street fighter, but honestly this game put tekken to shame with the only character being done close to right was steve(note i have not played the character packs but i saw some problems there too) the only thing i can hope for is if namco actually releases their version for it to be true to both series
its sad to see how so much this game could be..i just hate it when it comes in terms with DLC (the colors are DLC was a bad idea..) and some other weird decisions. its a fun game.. i hope this gets picked up soon and hopefully it fixes some issues with the game.. hopefully i can play with my Poison again
Capcom? Every game company patches and updates their games like this. Do you have selective memory? TTT2 an update to an update to an update of T6. How many BlazeBlues and Guilty Gears are there? How many versions of VF5 are there? How many patches did SC5 get?
These sorts of changes are exactly what a simple changelog is meant for. Making a full trailer for such incredibly small changes is rediculous. Something equivalent to this would be a cat food company which adds 5% more tuna to their tuna cat food then advertising the fact - not with a commercial, but by hiring hundreds of thousands of people to go knock on every other persons door and explain this incredible achievement to the masses. In short, its overblown to the point of comedy.
capcom is known for doing consoles and xbox being one of the biggest online game consoles, their patches have usually had a cost and labled as DLC, but PC games on the other hand has always been free with patches and even "DLC" since the 90s, so in a sence, yes todays gamers are that stupid to get hyped on a patch labled as free
go to "my documents" go to "capcom folder" click on "SFXT" double click on config file change framerate to "VARIABLE", "FIXED", or "SMOOTH" play with those 3 and see wich one (dependingin on your pc) best helps play smoothly
Wow, they addressed a lot of problems with vanilla SFxT. Should be a much better game, I'm pretty interested in this patch. Glad to hear it's free too.
Fighting games are oversaturated right now.. So SFXT is considered an option more than a must play because of AE and UMVC3.. Its being overlooked right now.. And in time this game will get more recognition..
If you wanted a realistic explanation to that I will help cue you in. Not only is the problem the ridiculously small time period they give the developers but I feel a large part of the issue was with Ishida Yoshinori the head of the Marketing team in Japan pushing around his idea's to make more money from the product. This really is easily seen when you examine other companies marketing tactics they have a clearly different view of how it should be done. Still not as bad as EA games.
So basically this is Street Fighter 4 ft. Tekken characters right? don't get me wrong, that's fine, everything is better than vanilla SFxT, i really hope this update is what this game needs to really be taken serious and hey, its free, you don't see that in Capcom games anymore.
capcom i know your not going to do it for this game tho you should but anyway i like how bison got the launcher now on the ex scissor kick but if you would think about the elbow move bison got on cvs2, psycho ball he got on mvc2 or a teleport that he can combo into and out of would be nice in the future. oh yea idea do over heads dat keep people from being of the ground example on KI jago has a special sword cut move but if an enemy is crouching he does a chop on top of the head wit the sword
