I was in Thailand for 40 days on a solo trip and the last leg of the trip I ended up in Krabi. I remember walking by a fried chicken vendor who was located right across a beautiful mosque and he only had a few pieces of chicken left. I placed my order got a bag of sticky rice, chicken, shallots and sause. soon as I took a bite i knew that I would atleast order that once a day till I left Krabi. Next day passing the same vendor I told him I would be back before closing and will definitely place a order for at least 10 pieces to which he probabaly thought i was joking but when the time came he was shocked but made me a fresh batch. Its still one of the best fried chicken I've eaten. This episode brings back memories of the kind people of Thailand and that amazing food I was introduced to while spending my time there.

He ate like no tomorrow (lol), it sure made us so jealous, specially those many of my Thai dishes favorite foods, I never can find exactly the same in USA, even though there are many Thai Restaurants all over, still never the same tastes! The way he ate even made us more hungry!

I live in Hat Yai, and I got to say we have one of the best fried chicken experience ever. Every morning when I went to school my parent would bought me the fried chicken as a breakfast. And everymorning me and my school friend will shared our meal together. I think flavors is one thing, but the joy and happiness when you just enjoys the chicken in the morning is indescribable. Thx again for coming to Hat Yai.
I live in Songkhla Hatyai and i never eat the sauce with the chicken(most people live here also). Just chicken fried shallot and sticky rice, Extremely full of flavour and umami. The sauce is just for if you eat a lot of chicken and you greasy, Dip chicken in the sauce help a lot. Thats why sauce come along 😄. ( sorry my bad english )

Actually, Southern Tai fried chicken with no batter with rice and vegies isnt that bad. Alot healthier than battered fried chicken with biscuits and gravy like most places.
I’ve really been enjoying Mark’s focus on Thai food during the pandemic. I like the travel stuff, but sometimes there was so much of it, I missed the Thai food.

Just wow! I come from a family of excellent cooks, and my fried chicken is really good too, however that chicken is the most amazing fried chicken I have ever seen!! I can tell it's delicious by just looking at it! It's moist yet crunchy at the same time! That is a hard balance to accomplish. I'd like to get on a plane headed there right now!
dude, im in vietnam. life has been normal since April. We had a strict lockdown here in March that worked really well. the media doesn't talk about how well Vietnam handled covid.
