Totally aware that I made a multitude of mistakes in this video. It’s obvious that I don’t care about goofing on myself. And you know what? That’s okay! I’m always learning, and I learned a ton from doing what I love here. The best part: I had so much fun, and comments here help me learn even more. It’s okay to be wrong! alvareo92 I’m just an average dude who loves shooting 35mm film and have never touched 120 🤷🏻‍♂️ But I know now! It’s okay to not know everything all the time. 👍🏼 It’s actually why I love RU-vid. I wouldn’t have known that for a long time had I not made this video.

Bryan Koorstad oh just that it’s 120 format, but the mm is 6cm x 6cm or even 56mm x 56mm for this particular format. I see film nerds losing their minds over that all the time haha

Hey Benj, I run and gun with my Hasselblad. Usually slow and methodical but sometimes street and fast paced action events. Fast paced action at F 5.6, it's a rush...:)

john murch for sure, it’s definitely just harder than with something like a Leica :) even just the focus throw on that 80mm is huge and slow and at something like f/5.6 or f/8 (what most of the outdoor stuff was for me) still isn’t *that* forgiving with such a big format and focal length.

@@benjhaisch Not a nimble camera for sure, I tried a friend's Pentax 67 with a 75 F 2.8 and it was much more nimble, light and fast focusing, short focus throw. There's something about the Hasselblad design and those Carl Zeiss lenses though...By the way, great shots...

Ehi Eric! Great content! I wanted to ask if you know why the Leica had some much grain then the other cameras. Is it something related to scan and editing? Film exposure? or brand noise made by the camera?

hiii i’ve purchased a contax t2 and it isn’t here yet it’s been rigorously thoroughly tested for functionality however i’m worried what if there are light leaks etc or some problem if i develop film with it is it possible if a camera is fully 100% functional and been tested for integrity but it could be faulty while developing film?

Eric, IMHO, think you can definitely get brighter exposures & better saturation if you use a flash, even a small one. I know it may feel not as pure on a Leica but try it. Nice vid anyway. Subbed.

If your street photography is spontaneous, the Hasselblad is gone. It's a studio camera being mispurposed because it costs a lot of bucks. If you were using interchangeable lenses, the Leica is it, but since he's not, and he doesn't know how to use the Leica anyway, it looks like the street camera here is the T2 by default. Although I have a T2, in the Pike Place Market, I'd much prefer my Nikon F100 with a 35-105mm zoom and a fast B&W film like HP-5++.

@@EricFloberg Wait! 1. Pro Mist filter- what number are you using? As I never understood what's the sweet spot where it's not too obvious you're using an effect. is that 1/4 ? 1/2? 2. Highlight tone priority- ON? So, you let the camera fiddle with your exposure to limit the highlights? Aren't you worried it would sometimes make your subjects too dark just because you may want some detail in the clouds?

@@eladbari 1/8! and no, it just saves a stop of dynamic range in the highlights. You still manually control your exposure and make sure your subject is still exposed correctly.

Thanks for watching! Yup, all on the 1DXii. Right, Highlight Tone Priority was turned on and it was shot with a 1/8 Pro Mist filter. Couldn't believe how good the Dynamic Range was.

Eric, you is the man. One thing I noticed is your shots were grain-ier than your rivals. Perhaps you were under-exposing a bit? That will do that.

Marcio Sargento I wasn’t trying to underexpose, but I’m sure I was without my meter working. The lab likely brought up the exposure, therefore adding more grain/noise to the scan. 🤷🏻‍♂️

You can’t find 1/3N batteries in stores (usually only online) and I had left my backup battery at home. Plus, it’s fun to challenge yourself sometimes and think creatively without certain tools.

huh? I mean, it's just a rule of thumb anyway. I don't expose my stuff at exactly sunny 16 anyway, but it's a good guide for general exposure if you have no access to a meter of any kind.

Shooting with a Leica M6 and then mounting a Zeiss Biogon Lens, ( what is infact a Japanese Lense made by Cosina ) makes not REALY sense to me. Buy you a 35mm Summicron ( every Summicron will do the job ........even the old version's from the 50's you could get quit cheap at eBay )
