Creativity in Street Photography needs constant cultivation. It's like tending a flower that could wilt if it's not looked after properly - it's for this reason that some street photographers and creative people complain that they are often too bored to get on with the enjoyable task of the creative process.
In this video I give tips on how to change a boring day on the street into a emotionally and creatively filled day where you come home with a camera full of great street shots.

hi, I agree with you on everything you told about, I love working on the manual mode, even focusing - with a little practice you will become fast enough and you don't have to be afraid of missing good situations on the street, if you do, then so it is ... don`t be sad. Thanks for this nice komment and thanks for the inspiring comment to go out again and find happiness with our camera. 👍

In a world of homoginization regarding the modern stylings of street photography, your philosophy is a welcomed reminder of the point of the activity itself. It's not about how tack sharp an image is. Is it a good image in the first place? I live somewhere where there is not always a whole lot of things happening, and it's a challenge sometimes to find inspiration. YOU just gave me inspiration. I already share a similar viewpoint, and I'm glad somebody on this platform is speaking on these things. Well said sir.

I find using Aperture Preferred and a then adjusting the light value up or down as needed if the metered light is clipping, works fine. I use autofocus all the time. If I used manual, 70 to 90% of my shots would have passed me by, during the time it takes to fiddle with the settings and autofocus. The last manual camera I ever used was back in the film days -- a Canon TLb. I now use Matrix for metering, and the like in other cameras I have, then add or subtract as needed, such as facing the light. Remembering if I have a MFT camera or FF, is important, as what is in focus in the background with the MFT at f4, is more like an f8 to f11 with the full frame. Yes, I hear what you are saying about using one camera, and it might make life easier, but alas, I find it interesting to compare using both. If I am ever bored with the opportunities for shots, I just tell myself, it was a good walk about the town. Take care, Loren

I get it with autofocus, I use that too. But I do prefer to use everything else on manual so that I have control over the moment. Some people, who live in sunny climes, might find that the light doesn't go through constant changes, but where I live, the light chops and changes by the moment. It must be fun to use the MFT camera. A sudden change in image quality is probably enjoyable to experience. Thanks for the great comment, and watching, all the best, Sean
