A Florida Highway Patrol trooper says he spotted two sports cars speeding across the Courtney Campbell Causeway as fast as 130 mph Saturday night, but both drivers said they were fasting that day and were trying to quickly get to a relative's home for dinner.
Before 7 p.m., the trooper noticed a white Audi RS5 and red Mustang GT traveling westbound on the causeway at a high rate of speed. The trooper clocked the Audi at 130 mph as it barely pulled ahead of the Mustang, according to an arrest affidavit.

Pretty sure hard criminals get face blurs to protect people who look like them from vigilante justice. No ones gonna go try murder someone for being caught street racing. I was stopped once for q burnout that the cop only heard but never saw. Both had a weapon pointed at me but we were laughing together a few minutes later after they checked my car and found I was drinking a Monster. Ended up only getting a verbal warning since he didn't "see" it, but if he wanted to he could 100% given me a 3k ticket, have my license revoked for a year and taken my car to the lot. You'll be fine as long as you don't be an asshole.

50 people a year nationally die from street racing and almost 4000 people die each year from swimming. Boy we are good at making big deals out of things that aren't big deals. Some cities bring em right to county for processing, where they're questioned for medical and MH, possibly fed, and given an opportunity to post bail or make the necessary calls. In truth, I've seen folks able to post right then and there with a credit card.
