Ben we lived in Melbourne for a number of years and to supplement our income we would do Street scrapping and load our station wagon and trailer with useable items and resell them at the Coburg and Thomastown markets. Loved every minute of it and you bring us back so any wonderful memories in your adventures. Thank you for what you do we all enjoy your path you follow. Your a good person and the world is a better place with people like you. Thanks again.

Ben, You missed out on a 350 dollar speaker, at 21:00 you are looking in that box with the printer and stuff. In there, there was a very good, very nice sounding wireless Bowers & Wilkins Z2 speaker, even for parts it's worth a little (The drivers inside them are desirable)

You should check skip bins because most renovations have cooper,brass and cables the reason I know that is because I hit the jackpot on that 1 small skip coming out with 15 dollars of scrap

I know you dont got the space,but you should have a trailer with tall walls,to just put scrap Steel in,and then just drag it to scrap yard when it is full and you fill the van with other junk. Two loads in one trip

I don’t know how BEN manages to keep all the different categories of scrap and cords and wires and populated PC cards and motors and mixed iron and steel and aluminum metals and iron ewaste and and mixed brass scrap and so forth all straight in his mind. Because I see he rarely leaves a penny of value behind. I’d love it if BEN would say what the specific items are worth by the kilo as he goes along. Like those little transformers and all the boards and drives, and also what the buyers do to make a profit on their end. Like the hard-drive buyers. What’s their profits ? Around here almost nothing is recycled. Just certain paper and plastics. they dont even take glass anymore! All straight to the landfill

Today I'm staying home because it's cold in the North and I live in North North America way up almost to Canadian Warrior and it's so it's starting to be winter here I'm watching your hundred PC Marathon I didn't realize you got sick in India I'm not surprised that is the dirtiest country I've ever heard of I was surprised it's for a smart guy you went to India of all the places you could have gone I hope you just didn't last too too long I was with you when you had covid that didn't last me looking guy I enjoy spending that quiet times with you you're quite a storyteller

Have had a couple of new guys the last couple of trips to that yard, knowledge of what is what is lacking. Had one bloke put my bin of mid grade wires through as low grade 🙄

you can twist the handle bar parallel to the front wheel to flatten it

it was letting you know your pointing device was not detected. it was showing you a touch pad saying plug it in or turn it on or check batteries. most likely system was corrupted or formatted and it could not boot properly hence taking a while and it asking you to restore or reinstall. Looks like you got a real gem their. seems to be fully working. kick ass.

I saw a cash register yesterday and made damn sure I checked it, after your good fortune 😉 but someone got there before me. The whole drawer was gone 😠 I've probably told you this before but my scrap yard won't take transformers at all. Bummer. I used to make okay money from them, find whole boxes of them routinely, but don't even pick them up anymore. They said it's not worth it for them. They don't get enough out of them. Fair enough I suppose

How long have you been scrapping e waste? I started to scrap about 1 month ago and I find I like the e waste most of all.

Funny. Vacuums are microwaves and sewing machines are irons. Seems i have problems with names too but cannot remember what

Hello Ben, Sweden here again. My yard takes those compressors as electric motor as long as I drain the oil. I get about 8 - 20 of them in a month along with the ones from fridges. Makes good weight atleast.

I've noticed in some older videos some fairly high end home and PA speakers on the streets, just wanted to give a heads up that many of those will have a removable back plate where the connections are and there will be a crossover board inside that can have some pretty nice copper coils on it

Ben u have to start checking in the luggage n cloth bags for bundles of cord food. Even just to satisfy our curiosity of was there or wasn't there.

To start, I want to give you the price at the time I had this issue happen to me. Light iron was 8 cents a pound and average aluminum was 35 to 40 cents a pound. I know this will sound crazy, but it's true. I had as you would say "irony alloy" to take to the scrap yard. A whole truck load. So out of habit I call ahead to get an idea of the price I'm going to get for it. They said it was 7 cents a pound!!! I was sure they misspoke or I heard them wrong, so I asked again and made sure we were VERY CLEAR of the type of items I was bringing in. Which was 80% or higher aluminum, some of the pieces just had things like 2 washers that couldn't have weighed over 2 ounces on a long pole of aluminum!! I was blown away and ticked off that they wanted to pay me less for irony alloy than me just throwing it in with steel!!! I took out the easy to process pieces then added a bunch of steel to the rest and got a little more money!! Sounds Crazy But True!!! Have a GREAT Day, Ben and All !!!

If you collect the speakers, you will get the coils from them.

you need some type of bins (or bin holders ) bolted to inside of truck, on higher level to hold cords and maybe another one to hold the good stuff, might make things easier when unloading, but anyways thanks for all the great videos

Instead of buying another van you should look at buying a 2 tonne Car licence truck with a flat tray and put some removable gates on it that are about 1.5 Metres high

I learned from you to keep a screw gun in my truck....when I see any tube tv out on the curb, I get some free copper! I am down to 2 min or less on almost any tv. Those big ones I just scrap curbside and screw the back right back on....I learned from the best mate! On a lite day like this one...what keeps you from grabbing the yokes when you see them? Just curious...

Who just throws away a working piano? And a vintage one at that?

Anyone else think Ben needs to invest in a small trailer or two? He loses so much time to moving materials around, loading and unloading the van, sorting into bins, sorting out of bins, etc. Lean manufacturing principles, here - all movement is waste! I keep a small utility trailer for my scrap steel and just let it pile up. I don't touch it until I unload it at the scrap yard.
