printers are essentially throw away items at this point. some units are cheaper than the ink refills so it's more cost effective to buy an entirely new unit with it's fresh ink. A single item malfunctions in any way, same story.
Excellent Ben even though you didn't find heaps of stuff every thing you got was decent I miss the walk about when you are street scraping thank you Sir for sharing five stars
Just wanted to say, no need to edit out you driving through 'empty streets' etc.Or make a seperate 2-hour "Director's Cut" of each video as we all enjoy you just driving around and talking :) #TheWhiteVanBrigade :)
Great video ben it might be light pickings but at least in your country you guys put it out for bin men to collect in uk it goes straight in to wheelbins no chance inless bins full keep doing more videos i like it when you show and explain what you get from each different item im trying to learn
Hard rubbish in Aus is completely different concept to us in the UK, we have to take our waste to the tip. Here you have to intercept before it goes to the tip ;)
Same here in my city in U.S. we don't do a hard rubbish day, though some small towns nearby still do one once a year. So sad to think how much good stuff goes to landfill unnecessarily.
The trouble with living in a rural area is that street scrapping just isn't an option! Next time I bring some boards down to you Ben, I might give it a go if the timing is right! You know my van would hold a pretty decent haul!! 😁😁
Another great street scrapping vid mate. I picked up a few bits today but nothing epic. A cheap brand LCD TV (I either repair them or resell or use the boards) and an Apple G4 Desktop. It was on the way to drop a vintage case to a customer in Brighton. In the UK, people have to take their hard waste to the dump/recycling centre so we don't have kerbside collections to rummage! :( I have to use selling and recycling platforms to source and collect my ewaste before people take it to the tip so an entirely different process! I always aim to repair or reuse over scrap but scrap too as the last resort. Keeps it all out of landfill :) Glad you're well mate and enjoying the regular uploads! :) Like the 'fridge is empty' and 'beers with the lads' challenges! Maybe under the current climate, do a 'energy/fuel companies are robbing bastards and have doubled my bills' challenge! 😂
Ben, even though those microwaves have been scrapped for the transformers, the Magnetrons still contain about 1/4 pound of copper. the round part underneath the aluminum fins is made of copper. You should know they're really easy to remove from the microwaves, since they have already been opened up on the street, just pop in your power drill and remove 4 screws. The Scrapyards near me have "caught on" to the electrical transformer. They always check if it's aluminum or copper, if it's aluminum, it's just scrap steel. A lot of microwaves these days have the aluminum wire transformers making the magnetron the most valuable part of the microwave.
keep up the awesome content also if the scrap near the scrap yard is not taken one day you should just do a ton of runs just grabbing any scrap and seeing how much you can make
Dude...I can't believe you cut the game system cord's..why??..for the love of God 🤦..you get 50 cents for those ..yet could have listed them in your local market for free and got 60+ Dollars
hello sir, I'm your fan from Indonesia, and I'm just starting to try scrapping, it's really nice to see you having fun with all that stuff.. may I ask some for my first try, dear sir ben
Those old stereos should have decent electronics in them, if needing more cash would have grabbed as well, at least they would be better than new screens etc.
You could do with a carry basket to fill up with cables and small items. Better this time round than last time street scrapping at least you got 2 desktop computers.
I think it would be cool to do a day of street scraping in the morning, grabbing what you can through the day and then take it home and scrap it out and take it to the yard to get paid the same day maybe or the next day? Would be interesting to see if it would be equal to a "normal" jobs daily pay. Love your videos! Thanks for uploading!
3:10 - a microwave as new, never used. To the curb still in its original packaging. Someone has either purchased it then could not be bothered returning or exchanging it or someone has received it from someone else, going, " Jeez, thanks ! ", then, later, " Bugger this ", and ditched it.
Hi Ben! Thanks for posting the video! Love the street scrapping ones! Maybe a good theme could be Scrap to fill the gas tank!! Have a great day everyone!!
I would save all that money in a Pepsi bottle and wait until the end of the year. Then deposit all that cash and hopefully, you might be able to buy an average-size house!
the figures all the lot man i collect them shylanders the round table top thing is a portal for all them little figures you left are collectable prices from around 7 quid to 12 each
I'm glad you're not being so fussy anymore just remember lockdown when there was nothing you couldn't even go out in the street other people are making money off the stuff you leave behind I'm glad. Just looking for PC
Could you do a street scrap video where you talk about the scrap value of some of the stuff you pick up. Just give rough estimates of scrap value on items. Like hey dvd that’s probably a dollar, alloy car wheel that’s probably $3 or whatever lol.
Nerf in the thumbnail, from 7:38 have you been able to sell any that you previously collected, I know they take up a lot of room, but I always grab nerf, cheap or free as it always sells.
I know you're specialising in scrap and electronics but you could've trebled your money with other stuff that was there..games in boxes,TV with remotes,Garden Tools, perfectly good wooden furniture..that can all be flipped quickly for a profit
Hello Ben. Next theme you could make is how long does it take to street scrap to fill up the van with fuel. I have started separating clean steel and what you call Dirty Pressing steel. It sure does make a difference.
What if the electronic you just cut cord off still works and someone could have picked it up to use ? Someone who couldn’t afford the item new ? Do you watch things to give them a chance ? Maybe if you were taking the item too.
