Euan had done things a bit differently with his R32. Instead of going for the bigger engine he has stuck with the 2.0 litre RB20 and turbo charged it. This is a road car too so he’s not ripped it apart or added a hydro. Thats cool but when your on a tight track, the cars alignment is questionable and you don't have all the get out of jail free tools she can be a bit of a handful!

Car details:
Eighth generation (R32; 1989)
The R32 Skyline debuted in 1989. It was available as either a 2-door coupe or 4-door hardtop sedan, all other bodystyles were dropped. The R32 featured several versions of the RB-series straight-6 engines, which had improved heads (the twelve port inlet was gone) and used the ECCS (Electronically Concentrated Control System) injection system. Also available was an 1,800 cc 4-cylinder GXi model. Most models had HICAS four-wheel steering, with the rear wheels being hydraulically linked to the front steering. The 2.5-liter GTS-25 became one of the first Japanese production cars to feature a 5-speed automatic transmission. The GTS-t came in standard and Type M configurations, with the Type M having larger five-stud 16-inch wheels, four piston front calipers and twin piston rears plus other minor differences. ABS was optional (except for the GT-R and GTS-4), mechanical LSD was standard on the GT-R and viscous LSD was standard on all turbo models and optional on all but the GXi. Nissan also produced 100 Australian models of the R32. In addition, there was a 4WD version of the GTS-t Type M, called the GTS-4.
This generation was considered a "compact" under Japanese legislation that determined the amount of tax liability based on exterior dimensions. The smaller engines were offered so as to provide Japanese buyers the ability to choose which annual road tax obligation they were willing to pay. The station wagon body style was discontinued, and would not see a replacement (the Stagea) until 1996, by which point the R33 had arrived.

Just realised the Nissan lineup of engines of this era are mostly equivalent/identical to BMW engines of the same period. From my experience the the bmw motors, both excitement and disappointment seems to be measured equally in regards to displacement and expectations, much like the RB it seems 🤣 RB = M20 + M50 SR = M10 + M42 + S14 I remember the M20 2.0 6 being mostly gutless, but revving way past where the 2.5 felt comfortable. Ripe for boost. Indestructible as stock, probably lol.

Well funnily enough, my other, nicer car that doesn’t get its head kicked in is an e30 with a m20b20 ( soon to be a 5.3 ls ) but exactly as you say it is much Rev happier and more robust than the b25. They do respond well to boost and are reliable as theres plenty material in the block, although people never bother and boost the 25 which is bored out more and of course have issues! I am not following my own advice however and am throwing it away for more displacement as a turbo skyline and v8 e30 will give a good mix.

@@johnnyXsniper 5.3? Going all in then 🤣 Good man. Yeah, you gotta mix it up. Gets stale having two identical cars/experiences. Much like the b20, that 5.3 will be way, way under-stressed in the e30 chassis. Less time fixing, more time burning tyres. Then you've got the choo choo noises (and associated issues lol) in the r32... yeah, sweet garage for sure 👍🏽
