Best quote I've heard in a long time. Evan you're inspirational in so many ways, and I relate to you in so many ways. That is why I love your channel so much. Is because of just having an outro... you actually give words of wisdom, or advice. And more people need to adhere to what you're actually saying and apply it to their daily lives. Because too many people take life for granted and don't know the real worries and troubles that are out there and could be underlying in their actual day to day lives. I myself dealt and am still on a day to day basis deal with both depression and anxiety, but I always try to remember that life has a meaning, and a bigger plan for me, so I just try to keep my head up and remember that, life goes on. And I love this quote so much because so many people hate me for reasons that aren't even real, or truthful about me. And where do they hear this stuff or learn about it... from other people who don't like me... thus a world of just made up fairy tales from people who don't ACTUALLY know me or have my phone number. Because as I've always said to people. I'm real with them. If you have any issues with me, let's talk about it and we'll figure out what I did to upset you or figure out why we don't get along. But none of them have my number, so how can they truly dislike me. Also I just wanted to add that I am still reeling from an addiction problem I had early on in life. And it's still a struggle each and every day, but I am almost 3 1/2 years sober now, and in the best place I possibly can be, minus the fact that I made a lot of mistakes while being addicted... and now I'm having a very hard time finding a job. But that's life's plan for me, and I'm just trying to make it day by day.

Dude look up CSS, their systems are proven to make BIG power on stock D16 blocks. Plus with the internals you already have you’d be set. A good cam like a bisimoto 2.4 or 3.6 cam could net you a ton of hp too. And if that’s not enough, 4 piston racing has a crazy CNC ported head setup for this thing that’s fully customizable for your application. Trust me if you actually want to build a powerful D series, the tools are out there.

You have the Intake and output around the wrong way for a compound setup. You need the large turbo to be the low pressure turbo, so it sucks the atmosphere, you have the exhaust system around the right way, but need to switch the intake/output.

Evan if you want better control. The first turbos wasted exhaust is overpowering the second turbine system so delete the internal on the first turbo like subaru guys do. Then plumb a second external for the first turbo and have it routed out of the exhaust flow to the second. It should eliminate any creep you see. Also itll give you finer control over boost level because you essentially have a two stage compressor setup.

the first turbo is internally waste gated so what you push through it will still push through the top turbo. if I'm not mistaken. my advice would be to cap the wastegate on the small one and add an external

Compound turbo setups are quite comomon for diesel aplications, they will let you spool fast and wont die at the top end while being able to control the boost, you just have to setup your components the right way. There is a lot of info in the yellowbulet forums on how to do this for gasoline engines. Nice work.

The gate on the bigger turbo may be to small to flow the exsaust gasses needed to keep it in check since its trying to flow the extra air from the small turbo aswell. U could also switch the small turbo to an external gate and will help with your boost creep.

Try adding a external wastegate to the first turbo on the exhaust manifold and ditch the internal wastegate that should allow better boost control.

Not in a bad way, but every time I hear the RPMs climbing, I start to cringe hoping that something doesn’t blow. Just PTSD from the first build, not that the new build was done wrong. I’m loving that this is working!

Hope you guys know this is well known. Big turbo waste gate gets its reference from its outlet the small turbo gets the compound outlet. So if we put a 14.7 psi spring in both we end up with 45psi at the manifold. Currently you have the big turbo gate going to manifold which is compounded your opening that gate way earlier than you should be letting the small turbo pick when the big gate opens. Ppl get worried because they don't understand pressure ratio and pr math. You always take it in bar and multiply don't add. If you start with a gate set up like small=14.7psi big=7psi. This would not you 30psi. My drag bike is compounded iv got a lot of experience with this. For best driving experience put your boost control solenoids in between each and make sure your reference lines are going to the right place. This let's you spoil fast then about half way through the big one is working once its working you pull duty from the small turbo. Don't forget you need about 2:1 waste gate ratio for the big turbo compared to the small one. Compound is perfect when you have a small engine making big power. So my bike for instance is 155cc na it makes about 20hp with 60psi of boost were over 100whp. You only compound when you need the pressure ratio. Not a small turbo and a big one for that sequential is the way to go. Iv seen 90psi on my engine and it's not hard to hit keep that in mind because this is very important if your not trying to make over 50psi it's the wrong setup all together. If you want to make 120psi this is the way. For just spool and big powerband go sequential or add a compressor and small air tank with a solenoid that shoots air into a nozzle that acts on the turbine wheel. I did this on my big turbo Volvo and before 20psi was 6500rpm now I can get 25psi by 2500 although we don't for we like our rods where they are. But we do have it set at 3k to light it up to 20 then it builds on it's own from there.

With a compound turbo set up you might as well just install a second fuel rail and injectors and just go full beans on the boost. Edit: I have no idea what I'm talking about but it would be cool to see

Just put a 4 port on it and use quick spool in hondata, you should get that peppiness back. Just need to force the gate shut on the come up, and that's exactly what quick spool does.

How much boost you want=X, take the first waste gate boost source from the charge pipe leading to the second turbo with spring of X psi, then take the source of the second waste gate from the intake manifold.

Have you thought about running separate boost controllers? Have one for small turbo that just completely opens and bypasses the small turbo. Not sure if possible or not just enjoy your channel and enjoy the content good luck

Im the mustang in the video. dude makes it seem as if i go full throttle to get around him. in real life he came around the uturn from the bridge and lays into the gas then i followed to try and race. i didnt even realize they were recording. i sped up to catch up and race, but as you saw turned me down. (MUSTANG GOES FULL THROTTLE) is fake news

No dude, he has the wastegate for the smaller "feeder" turbo routed to the intake manifold instead of running it from that turbo's compressor housing so it's not keeping a constant pressure to the main turbo.

I did this compound set up 10 years ago except I used a T3 48 AR turbo from a saab as my first turbo and a 63 A.R. turbo as a big turbo small turbo is 10 pounds big turbo was 15 all on a single cam Vittar build.. Good job though for thinking outside the box

Take the dump of the wastegate from the smal turbo the the atmostsphere maybe that would stop making boost at high rpm on the big turbo since you are taking exaust pressure off

The PROBLEM: The "vacuum" line going to wastegate1 (small turbo) needs to be plumbed off of that turbo's compressor housing or from the pipe in between the two compressors. Do NOT run that line to the intake manifold! The pressure feeding the larger turbo needs to be constant in order to properly adjust wastegate2 for your peak boost.
