ok....let's go and travel to the Alps in person...and by the way, one of my earlier pleasures was to walk the Alps in summer going from barn/bunkhouse to barn/bunkhouse in the high altitude fields....cattle on the first floor, sleeping above, fresh pancakes and cow's milk every morning
Some people just have to criticize... no matter what.If you want to leave your desk and see it fr real, grat, do it. What about people who can't? Who don't have the money or the physical ability to do it? This is a great work.
@UberSilvio So much to see. Now you can Priorities what you really wanna see. Cameras and Screen really never do it justice. That is why we can see it then we want to go even more.
What about off the beaten track. Long distance walkers with a backpack camera system, walking coastal paths, riverbank towpaths, shepherd trails across Northern Spain etc.
This is really a great idea! I could see Google Street View producing such videos from all over the world. Maybe you could even pay to have them go on a virtual trip for you if you were not someone who likes to travel.
Awesome! Can google upload Shinkansen (bullet train) video between Tokyo and Osaka in Japan? Shinkansen is the first high speed train in the world so it has a historical significance too!!
That would be a good idea for other scenic railways and maybe even heritage lines - the lines could then add the tagline "You've seen it from your desk, now see it for real!" to their marketing :)
@bvinaud Well I think it is because Google never made a camera that goes onto a train and even if they did the camera would be too tall. They already have cameras on bike though so they just stuck on onto a platform.
imagine if they did google street view of the route of the first atlantic crossing... by plane! Have the bike/camera with operator on the top of a 747! Submarine view would be tool too!
@UberSilvio what about the people who an't leave their desks? I mean for financial difficulties or for physical problems, for example... is it sad for them to have the possibility to see the world?
@UberSilvio It shoudn´t be sad. It´s supposed to be a reminder that there is a whole world outside the office for us to visit, and give the motivation to work for it. :)
