No FUCKING AROUND, in 1988 I was sold a cutlass with hydraulics in it. I believe it came from California and at the time this was rare being from Denver, Colorado. This guy named DJ Steve LOC... from California had this same style of charger but about 3' long but laid flat and it was wired to this bulky alternator and it charged the batteries when started and this was back it the late 80s. I use to tell people about it and no one believed me. I had a picture of it and every on would say it was a giant amplifier for stereo but NOPE! it was a charger. no shit. and now here this is.... what the hell.
Glad your covering this product. I live not too far from them in Florida and have had street chargers in many set ups. People have said they dont work and its cause they dont WIRE them up right. I ve NEVER had a problem with them.I just got back into low lows after a ten year break ( got sucked into building big stereo systems 😁) and the first two things im getting is my daytons and a street charger😁. Keep up the vids bro
Salutations brother. Thats a cool things to hear a company didnt just see the pennies they could save (everytime i think of stingy i think McDonald's the are sorry! 2ketchups free and pay for more....😮) anyhow thank you for insight this is honestly better than any method of charging ive heard or know about. Definitely an investment worth making. 66 impala 3 pumps 8 batteries. W/R ,Eddy
Just subbed ... great videos man... I used to be heavy in the lowrider game but been out a minute ... did all my own work also ...can’t wait to see more vids !
Thank you. Sometimes you have to take a brake from things I got out of building lowriders for a little but had so many people wanting work I got back in to it. There are plenty of videos to come
@@thecadillacdanshow8658 man I wish it was still clean .... it’s been sitting in a field for awhile with all brand new pumps hoses cylinders .... I got it ready to hop against somebody and I ended buying a new house ... well we got a HOA lol and they don’t like anything ... I hope to pull it out again maybe strip the stuff out and put into my other Lincoln I have sitting here in my garage ... that car did pretty good on 6 batteries and single to the front all hi low
i can tell how old a setup is by the dumps if you got em new. i still have a cce fatboy 2" block sitting on the shelf from a 85 chevy durango i built in 03 same steel braided line 1/2" parker check valve 2 italian dumps 1/2" parker slowdown faucet style prestone hd motor 12" cylinders in the front. all the car club guys say adex is the best i like the italian dumps. i just had to let go of 2 77 chevy coups i prefer a g-body anyway ideally a 86 regal royal
Nope factory alternator i did put a new one on but that was before i did the street charger i had problems out of my alternator for years and finally decided to replace it
I figured this video covered just about everything I will make a more detailed install on the next one I do but they are really easy to install if you can wire up a amp you can wire a streetcharger they come with very detailed instructions
Do they keep the batteries fully charged im looking into getting one for my 8 battery setup but I've heard different stories how they won't keep them fully charged
So I a have a four battery set up, two on each side of the trunk. Would I need two these or just one. Also can I run it off a capacitor in my trunk like my subs Amps run off?
You can run one if you are extremely switch happy you can run one for each bank of four batterys I have never had a problem with the charger keeping up but they do have that option as for a capacitor they only recommend running your power wire directly from the car battery with nothing else hooked up to the power wire and the out put wire of the charger going only to the positive wire for your hydraulics with nothing else hooked up
Yes it charges all of the batterys at once just order the charger for the voltage that you are running they also have wiring diagrams on streetcharger.com that show different configurations.
It depends how much voltage you are going to run 48-60-72 you can call streetcharger and they can help you decide which charger is best for you they have really awesome customer service
Ok I just got back into lowridin and it's been a min since I used a street charger and just hooked one up and when I go to hook quick connect up I'm gettin a spark or snap like putting a fuse in.. is this normal or is something not right I automatically unhooked it so Idk
Definitely got to get a 300 amp alternator these things are juice hogs. First completely charge every battery 🔋 then it should do great but I use course battery wire cable from alternator to trunk pulled from a old Saturn at the scrap yards
Hey buddy I need some help I have a 36 v street charger 3 batteries on each side and I don't know where to put the power from the charger to the batteries can you help me out
Run two wires from your charger and run each wire to the last positive battery (the same battery going to your solenoids) make sure to run two wires dont run a jumper from last battery to last battery it will not charge properly.
Gonna have to call bull shit. So it works on the stock alternator? I can’t keep my stereo battery charged off a stock alt. So now I’m gonna charge 10 batteries and the car system?
