Recently beat streets of rage 2 for the first time and looked up a speedrun to see what it looks like. That was an extremely satisfying run to watch, congrats man!
Not to brag but I'm on my 5th time beating it albeit on easy with 5 lives and in two player but I didn't want to master the game completely I feel like that might ruin it
nunca foi o melhor streets of rage p mim e nunca será , tem seu valor sim na história,é bom ? é,só q o clássico nas músicas é o 1 é o melhór em diversão e jogabilidade é o 3 ,e ponto.
This was amazing btw, my #1 played game as a kid, especially with my bro. Right next to sonic, and street fighter this game was the shit 1-2 and 3. With contra hard corps
Glad you mention 3 in the package, not a lot of people like it for being hard compared to the rest that is pretty casual centered. And for the GDQ comment, i'm not American, i'm French and i'm broke, my runs are done on a 14 years old pc, barely manage to record in 480p. The HD videos are done on a PS4 Pro that was gifted by the family to me. My Speedrun of 3 can be found here : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-MezhHn3ZOKA.html For the first game i came out with easy strategies years ago but new speed techs now are too hard to do on my pc with a controller so i recommend you c'estpatou WR videos, this guy is the Big Boss of SOR1.
@@tonyp9313 It's very good, it motivates players to jump from easy to the normal difficulty. In the 90's you had to finish the Hard mode to get an ending for a game, Konami and Capcom did a lot of that.
I am glad to see people come back to the older streets of rage games. Been finding matches online effortlessly lately due to streets of rage 4 refueling people's desires to play the older ones. Been playing sor4 and 2 like crazy I can't get enough of either one. As an axle main myself I am happy I came across this video now I know a quick way to beat jet excellent run dude!
@YourAverageBriton in my opinion streets of rage 2 still has the best music tracks of all time. I used to play it on my sega genesis and sega dreamcast all the time as a kid there were so many amazing games for the sega. Yeah the sega mega collection is well worth the money it's so fun playing what used to be couch coop games online in coop. Gives me the chance to see all the talented players across the world who enjoyed these games growing up I'm always learning new tricks to add to the ones I already know of. Plus the people are really cool.
It's mindblowing how a single guy who decides to takes over a big mafia organisation overseas with only his fists doesn't meet one single asshole with a kalashnikov
I have a great memory back in the days, i was around 8-10 yrs old, at a carnival with my dad and like i was playing this game alot at home on console, i knew it pretty well, they had this arcade cabinet with SOR2 on. Obviously me and my dad took the game on co-op and there was this big crowd of kids and guys watching us as we finished the game (it was on normal dip, dudes were pretty kind not to put the dip on hardest lmao) but the feeling was great i felt truly cool at that moment x)
mianber1992 You just jump and quickly press the opposite direction, new games require instant multi press, this game have a little delay before you hit the pad. After you get this done you can do kicks and downkicks. Not hard to do
Amazing run. I'm a bit confused though when Axel gets hit out of his Dragon Smash and changes direction... are you just performing the special again each time Axel gets hit?
It's Emulation on my very old PC, i suggest you to play the steam version, we found out it's the fastest emulator. Now that i have a new PC i can record the original hardware too, i got a Genesis model 1 and i plan on doing capture with a Dazzle Video Capture DVC100, it's old but gets the job done. I just need a TV :p
@@hikari67 ah yes. Love Dazzle. I'm guessing you will need some RCA splitters (split to Dazzle and Split to TV) and a good CRT "box" to get the full experience. Plus the bonus of original hardware to a CRT Box means no input lag! All legit!
Hi Undead dragon, this is a very tedious thing to do to be honest with you. It depends on lots of parameters such as, the character you want to play, the difficulty you chose and the time you want to reach without counting the fact that you may or may not have basic knowledge about the whole game mechanics/enemies AI,damages data etc... If i'd quantify in time the amount of things i should say and talk about in a tutorial video you'd be in for more than 6hours long video.... condensing this into a quick easy tutorial of 20/40mins is so hard, there's a lot of things you can forget to point out and it make all my attempts so far feel bad and rushed.
@@hikari67 Thanks for the reply dude I have never been replied before It is completely fine that you are not making a tutorial but I just wanted to ask you that where are you from and I have speedrun resident evil before but that was a totally different game
You can still ask me questions on discord don't worry, i'm just sick since weeks trying to survive this terrible fever that got back suddenly. I'm french and i've done a RE2 speedrun they're great games to run. Sm_Izumi#5919
@@hikari67 Izumi kajiura O dude It is completely fine That you are not making a tutorial You are sick you should always take rest O it is great you ran re2 BTW which category did you ran and I had a question the tutorial that is on speedrun.com is it really a tutorial I didnt really understand it it should have been with commentary or something and o do you make comentary videos and I never used Discord before but I will start using it See ya around and BTW do you use sharree (not shareit)
It was composed on a NEC PC-8801 along side his own very program in Music Macro Language. He then attempted to reproduce the current best synth sound using Frequency modulation synthesis, like the ones from the Roland TR-808 and TR-909 beats and Roland TB-303 synths. He apparently used those for all the 3 Games.
Every character have a proper setup, axel only needs to spam 2 uppers in front of the food sandbags, sometimes twice if the boss fdoesnt come, other characters change the setup. As long as you do this pixel perfect only souther will move to you and if you don't pass half the screen the jets wont spawn.
This game is still better than SOR4 and I don't care who doesn't like it. Axel was meant to be a complete beast and he is in SOR1-SOR3. In SOR4 he's barely passable. Although I would pick SOR4 over SOR3 US. 1. SOR2 US 2. SOR1 US 3. SOR4 US 4. SOR3 US The Japanese games differ slightly and effect my ratings somewhat. I would say SOR2 JP=SOR3 JP.
Not okay with most of this. - First about Axel, he's not a beast he's just the normal protag with everything balanced, great character for noobs that start the game. In 1, Blaze is the beast, in 2, Max is the beast, he's only monstrous in SOR3 with his Invincibility frames. - As much as i dislike SOR4, i don't like the gameplay, the missing content, the terrible story and characters massacre, the horrible Axel design, the amateurish backgrounds, the long pacing and garbage online code, all the patches released post Vanilla version of the game made Axel 4 really strong, people do absolutely crazy stuff with him so he's far from being weak, it's just a whole different game, it's not Streets of rage it's just some versus fighting combo juggle galore. - For SOR3, it's a solid game, the US version is more challenging, got great ideas and almost got better than SOR2, it's very arcade and i love BTU's from the arcade era. BKIII on the other hand, is filled with stupid ideas, too easy, insultingly easy ???!! Very hard = Easy/Normal SOR2 and then you have lots of bugs that got fixed in the USA version. I can't stand playing the Japanese version anymore. It's only beloved cause it has the good colors and is completely casual friendly. My list would be SOR2 SOR3 SOR1 SOR4 SOR2 GG BKIII SOR1 GG SOR1 MS SOR2 MS SORRemake.
5:44 This always bothered me. The damn foreground lamp posts are scrolling the wrong way! It's very disorienting. Edit: by "wrong way", I mean in relation to the background.
No they aren't. Everything is scrolling the same way. The foreground scrolls slower because it's closer to your perspective: that's parallax. In any modern game with foreground elements they still scroll more slowly than what's behind them.
@@EchidnaKida lol. You are soooo wrong about this. Now, I should clarify that the foreground scrolling the "wrong way" is in relation to the background. With parallax, the foreground scrolls FASTER than the background. Just go anywhere and walk sideways while looking forward and it's so painfully obvious. Hell, you can do this in your own home. Then report back to me here on RU-vid and admit how wrong you were. ;)
@@jasper_of_puppets Don't use "wrong way" if that's not what you f*cking mean. Ever occur to you he could be walking around the front poles and not past them, so the other guy is still right. Use your imagination, dipsh*t.
