Yuzo Koshiro is the man! He also did magic on SNES that same year with Super Adventure Island. I didn't think it was possible. It's my favorite non-RPG soundtrack on SNES!

You'll get people in hip-hop/grime/dub that cite this games soundtrack as one of their main influences.

It is epic. This or phantasy star 4 are the best. most people don't know that game though

On the same coin, a lot of the music from the late 80s early 90s influenced this whole soundtrack

Stage 3 music is my fav of all time!!!!

Believe it or not at least 2 runners that I know have no deathed SOR 3 on the hardest difficulty with all 4 characters and I'm sure more have. Anthopants and Corkscrewblow have both accomplished this and I'm sure more probably have as well. SOR 3 is super difficult casually, but once you master the game the enemies are easier to deal with and also more predictable. In SOR 2 mania multiple runners have no deathed 1-6 and stage 8. So without stage 7 it already would of happened. The real roadblock to a no death is the level 7 elevator which to my knowledge nobody has done in a full run. Runners are closing in slowly on the no death run in SOR 2 mania with the best being a 3 death run. As far as I know Professor of Rage, Anthopants, and Izumi have all gotten that close. Galedog said he did as well a few years ago, but he had no video to show. From the sound of it he's also coming out of retirement to go for the no death so it's a race between about 4 or 5 runners on who gets it first.

Antho has done No Death SoR 3 with all characters. It's actually way easier because the spawns are easier to control. SoR 3 just has higher damage.

Max had the "big a slow" trope that didn't appeal to many kids right out of the gate. But i GUARANTEE once everyone that saw his atomic back drop (DA DAMAGE!!!) quickly switched up on that opinion, hahaha

It's possible to insta-kill Zamza with power tackle if he blocks, I wonder why the speed runners don't try to pull that out since he tend to block after a normal hit.

It's RNG if he blocks, and Max's grapples are more reliable.

Difficulty curve does go sharply up with each stage. Maybe play it on emulator and use save states, or back in the day there was game genie.

They have so many Fan Made Super Mario games in GDQ... it would be epic for them to have SorREmake in their marathon

Indeed -- I went back to check and it does appear that all 4 characters lose the same amount of health on special. I think what got me confused was that the loss was a lot smaller than what you'd get in SOR3 if you don't let the special bar recharge, closer to 1/4 of your health bar potentially.

Not one person has managed to clear the game deathless on mania mode. 3 deaths is the closest i think so 6 or 7 deaths in this run was pretty good going.
