With the new streets of rage 4 DLC came a bunch of new assets in the form of new stages, enemies, weapons and music. In this video I have put together about a dozen or so easter eggs and secrets and while some may be tenuous and not officially confirmed, I
think some of the similarities are entirely plausible.

Another one is the karate guys in the black gi. They are called Tatsu. Look up TMNT secrets of the ooze movie. There is a baddie called tatsu in a black gi. Dotemu are also releasing a new TMNT game

4:45 That was actually partially my fault 😂 While QA testing the Survival Mode I was wondering what the lyrics heard in Sulfur Empire were, so I asked Tee Lopes and he said those were just random gibberish and shared the sample. Everyone on the team found them hilarious, Beausoleil made a reverse version to see if it would summon an otherworldy being, then Cyrille Lagarigue suggested that they should be added to the main menu behind some input combination, which Christophe Hogommat then implemented. It was a beautiful thing all around.

For audio Easter eggs 5 and 6, I believe those songs are also inspired by SoR3's "Moon" and SoR2's "Never Return Alive" respectively.

Very nice! One more easter egg: When you fight Nora, you can see a painting of "Ash" which was a secret playable character in SOR3. He was sadly deleted due to its controvertial aspect back in that time, so now SOR4 developers gave him a small tribute :) You can see him next to the studded wall!

good video man! another moves references is the SOR3 Blaze "Chou Reppa Dan" which is the same move of Andy Bogard from Fatal Fury 2 and SOR3 Shiva have the Ragin Demon from Akuma from Street Fighter.

The move from Shiva isn't from Akuma, but of Omega Rugal from KoF Dream Match 1999. Not hard to see the similarities in that move.

There are Killer Instinct references, Adam has Combo's fighting stance and his sword strike are a mix of T.J. Combo's tremor and Terry Bogard's Power Geyser. The second part of Stage 8 Art Exhibition sounds like a slowed down version of Combo's idle theme

The new moveset of other characters are also references (even by name) from other fighting games moves. Example: Blaze's new defensive special is the Hienzan, which is Kim Kaphwan's famous summersault kick (yup, also named like that). Blaze-2's new Ring of Fire defensive special is based on Jhun Hoon's HSDM special (both Kim and Jhun are characters from King of Fighters series). Adam's new star move is based on Ryu's Shinkuu Tatsumaki special move (from Street Fighter Zero series), Blaze-3's new blitz is the Cho Reppa Dan, a DM from Andy Bogard from the Fatal fury/KOF series), etc. Cherry's guitar smashing attacks are named after Pete Townshend, a famous British guitar player who was part of the band The Who. Townshend was famous for smashing a guitar live when it was faulty until later he integrated it as part of their show, especially when he was part of The Who. More Fatal Fury/KOF references: Adam's new offensive special, Sword Smash, is a verbatim version of Terry Bogard's Power Dunk, his new air special is based on Joe Higashi's Slash Kick, both even named the same way. His Sword Strike is also a huge reference of Terry's DM Power Geyser. Estel's offensive special is a reference to Ralf Jones' Bari Bari Punch DM from the KOF series. Also Estel's alternate offensive special, the sucker Punch, is reference of Shen Woo's Geki Ken. Shiva's close offensive special, the Senretsuken, is a reference to Omega Rugal's Vanishing Rush. Will list more if I find more.

The giant fish weapon looks very similar to a weapon from river city girls. River city girls also has a light saber inspired weapon in the toy sword. Its good to see roo is finally back.

You missed some things: There is a picture of Roo in the art gallery. The old pier is actually the old Dreamer stage from streets of rage 2. In the sewers, at the pipes are graffyities, like Sonic rings, Ristar and others. In the concert stage there are Soozie and Big ben's clotches are hanging. At the airplane, the table is like a Ps4 console. Dj.K Washi is Yuzo Kawashima. There is a picture of Ash at Nora's room. At the streets there is a broken table that says "Nora". Feroccio is from a SOR comic, as a good guy. Sapyr and Pyrop jumps quieter than others. At the final boss stage, there is a laying picture of Mr.X In Max's fighting area, we can see crowd, some of them are developers. In the background bars, we can see a woman with Garnet shape drinking. Ms.Y sits in Mr.X's seat.

Here's some others that I managed to find: -Goro and his 3 additional variants have color schemes based off street fighter characters (Ryu for Goro, Ken for Dokuja, Akuma for Tatsu, and Sean for Tora). -Dokuja's (and to an extent Tatsu's) rapid punch maneuver has a resemblance to Ryo's Zanretsuken from Art of Fighting. -There is a boxing store that features a Neon sign of Donovan in stage 1. -Nora's outfit can be seen in a background shop in stage 1. -Shiva's third pallet swap outfit could be a nod to Goku from the Dragon Ball series.

Streets of Fury! Man I remember being in college in 2009, and buying that game for my Xbox 360. It reminded me of Pit Fighter on the Sega so I enjoyed it. Didn't notice the reference from Max drop kick. Mind is Blown!

Encore also uses a sample/similar rift from Streets of Rage 1's 4th stage if you listen closer. Also, the cheat to unlock Roo is the same way you can unlock him in Streets 3 from the start of the game. Quite a few missed references...

That metal tune kind of sounds like a sample taken from Partners in Krymes Turtle power for TMNT 2 secret of the ooze which would make sense as this company is in the process of developing TMNT shredders revenge.

There are also little thrown in references to other SOR tracks on the OST. Like one references a section of Expander from SOR 2. Also while not easter eggs per say, some of the alternate moves for retro characters use animations from their respective games' prototypes which go unused in the final. Like Streets of Rage 2 Axel gets the Hurricane kick from the Bare Knuckle 2 prototype and Zan gets an unused animation from SOR 3 for his Guillotine move. Also worth missing, Roo is the only Retro character to get an air special.

When everyone is unlocked including SOR3 Roo, there's another space on the left side where the part 1 and 2 characters are. Either that's remaining blank, or that space will be filled soon enough.

Not sure if anyone else has tried this but the gold weapons, if untouched, can be carried through and given to a buddy (as long as it's a weapon they like) and if they are still alive and have it in their hand when you move to the next round then they start every round moving forward with that gold weapon! Tried and tested 👍

The shielded cop's name is Murphy, a reference to Robocop. In Robocop 1 Murphy and his female partner had on a similar cop uniform.

I would like to add to this AMAZING video you've compiled. I believe you are correct that it is meant to be the Sonic dash for Easter Egg 9, but I think it's from Sonic Adventure 2 when Sonic and Shadow get the "Flame Bracelet" power up that adds flames to their spin dashes. 🙂

Zero Pressure also sounds like the Sentinel stage from X-Men 2: Clone Wars, which Yuko K. produced as well. Max also references Rocky IV in one of his openers “I will break you.” Also Roo’s alternate special and air special are directly inspired by Blanka

You definitely missed a lot of musical Easter eggs. Like that the Mr x nightmare main menu is a reference to The Last Soul from SoR 1, A.I. Supply references At Doom's Gate and Expander, and Sulfer Empire has a reference to Fighting in the Street.

Dude. You missed out an obvious one here. The gates which your character enters in survival mode. Look carefully at the red-colored gate (it starts off bluish). It is a reference to Stargate (1997 movie and the TV series).

I heard a few songs in survival 1 sounds like a street fighter 2 song, another ones sounds like Anarchy Reigns and jet set radio both of these games are owned by Sega, so i do really think they put some easter egg songs from these games as well.

7:14 Incorrect. This is the theme of “The Patriot”, which was LATER used for Kurt Angle. In essence it was early WWF’s “Murrica But Not Hogan” song to go along with the “Asia” song (see: Genichiro Tenryu, Bull Nakano, Aja Kong when they appeared on WWF)

I kinda think the song Primal Pummel in the Mr X Nightmare sounds like a Sonic CD song, I can't recall which one because of there being a US and JP version each with 4 versions of the songs past,present future and good future;---- But it really reminds me that they took inspiration from both present versions of Palm Tree Panic i dunno XP

Sorry if it was already mentioned: in the double boss fight arena at the end of the art gallery, there is a covered giant sextoy, bound to be shipped to Paris. I have a question, I don't own the base game yet , do I need to buy both for full experience? I am talking about the physical copy here. I heard somewhere the the dlc physical copy include both the base game and the dlc .. is that true?

I'm not sure what the physical editions include but if you like beat 'em ups you will definitely want the DLC. The DLC adds so much more to the game that is incredibly fun and infinitely replayable.

there is one easter egg where only brazilians will notice, there is a variation of the koobo enemy called "ZEEBO" Reference to a tec toy console (It is best known for producing, publishing, and distributing sega consoles in brazil)
