My #1 advice: Don't think too much to it.Just keep swimming graduating this may

Alexander Salinas the keyword in your comment is "swimming" in the vast and violent ocean that nursing school is.

Well said! My husband is a nurse, and I'm currently in nursing school. We both have other degrees, so we can completely relate to all your points about other majors, and the expectations of nursing school. My husband actually worked full time, then part time during his last semester. He survived, like you will and we are flourishing. Good luck in your studies!

Lisa J Whatever you do, don't let anyone tell you that you must work med surge before anything. That's bs and med surge nurses have a very high burnout rate because it's so insane. psych nursing is awesome.

I'd truly love to be a nurse which is simply making a good living by helping people but I truly hate stress, being stressed, depressed, and worrying about whether or not I'm smart according to the public school system's standards....

i can relate to this so much. there has been nights i stayed up crying. A lot of people taking other majors in college don’t understand the stress us in nursing programs have to go through, just to even get accepted into the program i felt like i had to dodge so many road blocks. People like you give me the motivation i need to get through it 🤞🏻

And this is why I go to a community college, i don’t worry about school being crazy expensive and can get a asn- BSN for cheap. I did my prenursing par time and worked as an lna all the while. Yeah I took the longer route, but once I get my asn I can work and do my BSN ar the same time (which is easy where I live). Plus it is much better for my anxiety. Cuddos to you though that’s crazy!

Thank you! For now I've started prerequisite courses at my local college (I'm from Bermuda). I was trying to get into school in England but I needed more A levels or post secondary work. So looks like i might not be starting in September like i hoped but at least this is a start :)

My programs passing rate is a 70% and I am so glad about that. I start in January 2019 and I’m very nervous but I want to just go ahead and get it over with. I’m ready to kick ass and give it my all! Your videos are great!

Everything in this video puts things in perspective as to why there's such a massive shortage in male nurses in the Healthcare Industry. Most of us guys would truly love to be nurses in healthcare but most of us aren't the best at regurgitating old/used information from textbooks that the instructors paraphrase into PowerPoint/Lecture notes combined with their own experience of the class/subject.

Oh yes this is true...the struggle is real!! Dont forget all the select all that apply questions....my school had 1/2 - 3/4 of each test was select all that apply ... so yeah, stress was unbelievable.

I am also graduating from my nursing program in dec 2017. Personally I knew nursing school was not gonna be easy but I never knew how stressful it would really be and the stress only intensifies as the semesters go by. Thanks for sharing your honest thoughts

Nursing school is no JOKE! I remember after obtaining my BSN I thought "there is NO WAY I'm ever going back to school again"! I was mentally, physically and spiritually drained. But my love of helping others and nursing helped me get through it! You did a great job at explaining the grading system. It's not just overall grade but exam averages as well that are considered. In my previous BSN and current NP program both have to be a 83 to be considered passing grade! Great post, good luck in your studies!

Bro, started an LVN program in early May. And wowww. It’s mid June and there’s already so much to stay on top of. But it’s also been fun too. Been watching your videos and hella informative so thank you man. The goal is to transition into a BSN bridge program.

Couldn’t have said it better !! I dropped out of an LVN-RN step up program n will restart in sept but just to play it safe since I haven’t been in nsg school in like 10 years I chose to start from beginning. Sucks man. It is HARD. Do NOT underestimate it.

Finally someone goes into depth on their University's program progression requirements. My school is exactly the same, except we have to have an 80% minimum on everything. It is very stressful. Do or Die

Kaynen since you've already done a video on everything that makes going through the nursing program so stressful, can you next time do a video on what are helpful/effective ways to minimize/get rid of stress & depression while in Nursing School? I feel like this is very important to know for anyone besides myself who's been considering getting a bachelor's in Nursing.

Good Video! My Institutes pass rate is 78%!!!!!!!!! Also, I think one important aspect you left out is how different the style of exams are. It's all critical thinking, a lot of grey areas, not black & white like all the other prerequisite classes we took.

I justvhad my first week and yes, it is stressful! We had 25 hours of lecture in 3 days and we have a test next week. It is intense haha. I'm going to try to make videos regularly but this is crazy haha!

Everything you said applies to my school in NY but we have to pass with a 77. A lot of people who are not nursing majors do not understand the struggle. plus I also have to put in hours praticing skills outside of class so there is literally no time to do anything. I work in nursing school too. We can do this! great video. Btw I am also in medsurg this semester. Goodluck
