Big update for my little script! I have the new instance triangle working so you can drag that to the PixInsight desktop, and then just drag and drop that icon to your linear star image to do the default stretch. If you open the script from Script -> Utilities -> Star Stretch there is also a Color Boost slider too. Lot's of tweaks under the hood to make it function sooo much better. I have updated the link to the new version on my google drive as well!!
I just used this for the first time on my stars image and it works great. I used the default values and my stars are looking nice. Thank you for this script.
Ima try it but I'm really happy with taking the stf auto stretch and dropping that on a histogram window and doing a bit of tweaking there. I also liked going into curves and just doing blue channel and doing a slight curve and then just add a bit of saturation. Ima compare and see which I like looks like you put a ton of work into this nice job!!!
Thanks for giving it a test run! The color boost I added in this raises overall saturation as well as a little extra on the blues. Seems that is something you are doing too in curves. In the end this was to get my feet wet (working on a full NB to RGB star script right now). If this makes processing easier for someone or helps them out with a quick button click I will be super happy with my efforts!
If you run into a parsing error or signature error you can download the zip file directly from my website and then just extract the .js file. You can then go to Scripts -> Feature Scripts -> Add Script and select the folder you extracted the .js file too
If you havent upgraded to PixInsight build 1605 (which came out in March) I highly recommend you do that as all scripts are going to require signatures going forward. You do this from the PixInsight download site. This will fix the error if you are trying to use the repository. If you still run into a parsing error or signature error you can download the zip file directly from my website and then just extract the .js files (delete the .xsgn file). You can then go to Scripts -> Feature Scripts -> Add Script and select the folder you extracted the .js file too. Let me know if this helps Frank
@setiv2 Hi again, yes my install version is 1601 but I have a problem with uninstall this version (saying I need to connect technical team) so I did with no response. I have windows 10 and can't even uninstall through control panel, any suggestions?
