The straight mags are the main problem with all the FTFs/FTEs. Once you swap to the newer curved mags they work flawlessly, plus they're cheap. That's the easiest way to resolve those issues. However, if you wanted to invest into the platform, getting an upgraded buffer system from HBI or KD Gunwerx and also a third-party lower from A3T or Lingle is a more serious change that removes those issues plus opens you up to using Scorpion or AKV mags.
Yeah I figured out pretty quick the straight mags are stoppage city. I think it’s cool there’s a bunch of aftermarket support, but guns should run out of the box with the mags they come with. Same problem with a bunch of 1911 brands
@@TNRay I agree! That's also why GP made it so any factory new 9mm Stribogs on the market these days come with 3 of the new curved mags. If you get a hold of one with the straight mags, it's one of the older models.
The stock mags suck, the curved ones brake on the feed lips. Changed my lower to the a3 lower and scorpion mags, I also get the benefit of a better Ar-15 trigger, safety and grip. An additional bonus the magpul scorpion mags are 35 rounders and half the cost!
Why are u using the crap mags?99 percent of the issues are the straight mags, the other 1 percent is the smaller stock buffer on the a3, get the hb buffer for 30$ , it makes the gun recoil a lot less also with the new Hb buffer
I feel like I explained this fairly well in the video. This is not my gun. I borrowed it from a friend for the review. He hadn’t owned it very long before he let me shoot it. I borrowed the curved magazines from another buddy after we had a discussion about the issues I was having. I made it very clear the straight magazines were most likely at fault.
Yes, I fully understand it’s a different gun. But the a3 does take from the mp5 design/concept with the roller delayed action. Knockoff doesn’t necessarily mean a bad thing, it means it’s a cheaper item trying to accomplish the same thing.
SPT9MMCARBINE. I used a lot of the HB industries aftermarket stuff on mine and it runs like a charm. Holosun 510C is my optic. Never had a problem with either the straight mag or the curved. Perhaps I got a newer generation.
