That’s not a dumb question at all. I actually prefer hunting with either a brake or a suppressor, but I can’t speak for everyone else. I know some complain about how loud brakes are, and a majority of hunters don’t like to hunt with hearing protection. That is the only legitimate reason I have ever heard of hunters not wanting to use them.

@@TNRay you are correct, I have 2 kimber classic stainless in 45. I have LOTS of rounds through them in IDPA matches with no issues ( unless I screwed up) but I can take those same guns to the range and use their mags and I will start seeing the same malfunctioning you experienced.
Installed one in a S&W 15-22. After not a ton of rounds it’ll only do lights strikes. Emailed them the other day so we’ll see what happens. Lifetime warranty.
@@josephjulian2503 they’re shooters, no doubt about that. You’d pass out if you saw what I did to attach the arca rail 😉 I can always find a factory stock to make it back original but I can’t have the functionality I need without the attachments 😉
@woodburyfarmskansas I don’t blame you at all. All of my recent purchases have been trust as well. Got 3 back between 3.5 and 5 months on a trust, hopefully you have the same luck!
The straight mags are the main problem with all the FTFs/FTEs. Once you swap to the newer curved mags they work flawlessly, plus they're cheap. That's the easiest way to resolve those issues. However, if you wanted to invest into the platform, getting an upgraded buffer system from HBI or KD Gunwerx and also a third-party lower from A3T or Lingle is a more serious change that removes those issues plus opens you up to using Scorpion or AKV mags.
Yeah I figured out pretty quick the straight mags are stoppage city. I think it’s cool there’s a bunch of aftermarket support, but guns should run out of the box with the mags they come with. Same problem with a bunch of 1911 brands
@@TNRay I agree! That's also why GP made it so any factory new 9mm Stribogs on the market these days come with 3 of the new curved mags. If you get a hold of one with the straight mags, it's one of the older models.
New to your channel 😊 Love rimfire stuff. I have about the same results from my CZ 457 and CCi Standard Velocity. I do not have those feeding/ejection issues like you are having. I keep watching you when you go to load, and I can't see an issue? Maybe your stock is torqued to high and pinching in there? Do you plan on other rimfire rifles in the future? 😊 Thanks for sharing 👍
Thanks for watching! It seems to be the trend, somewhat decent accuracy if it will string a group together but not consistent enough to be reliable. I think the issue with feeding is mostly running the bolt too fast instead of letting the spent case get completely out before I feed the next. I am planning to get more into rimfires, this was just a good starting point for me. I appreciate you watching through these videos and commenting on them!
I absolutely love SK ammunition, and I love their super slick lube 👍 All my rifles love SK Sometimes, you can get some good CCi, but most of the time, I find fliers in every 5 shot group 😢 I have been messing with 4 different lots of Standard Plus, and all 4 shoot different. I got 2 good lots and 2 not so good. But all in all, the Standard Plus is pretty decent ammo for the 💰 Thanks for sharing 👍
I’ve always heard good things about SK and Eley both, it’s nice to see I found a consistent lot for my rifle at least. Standard Plus isn’t horrible on price, compared to other match ammo. I dig it. Thanks for watching and leaving some comments!
I literally have the same setup, accept I have the victor titan cheek riser and 419 bolt knob. How do you shoot them big as dots with the fine black dot on the scope?
Awesome! I haven’t made it to swapping the bolt knob yet but it’s something I plan to do. I use the very top center of the dot I’m aiming at, instead of just aiming at the middle of the dot
For just training/plinking, CCI is sufficient and saves money. But if you want to train with what you compete with, I would definitely stay away from the cci
I would absolutely not recommend this specific pistol… There’s plenty of options in the same price range that are way more reliable. Check out Tisas, I’ve heard great things about them if you’re in the market for a budget 1911.
Low Pressure 50 Caliber Smokeless Loads in a 209 Factory Muzzleloader, 2 DVD set | eBay These 2 DVDs contain a demonstration of using Low Pressure Smokeless Loads in a 50 caliber factory muzzleloader. Savage Arms proved over 20 years ago that a factory muzzleloader can use smokeless powder. A retired Science Teacher/Gunsmith/Inventor used a strain gauge glued to a rifle barrel and the Pressure Trace II computer interface to compare the pressures produced by Blackhorn209 propellant to pressures which can be produced by ten different smokeless powders. These ten smokeless powders do not contain the corrosive oxidizers which can rust a rifle barrel. The loads developed produced a pressure equal to or less than that of 84 grains by weight of Blackhorn209, which a common Black Powder substitute made up of 83% smokeless powder (nitrocellulose). However, Blackhorn209 does contain corrosive chemicals.
Excellent! I’ve been looking for an appendix rig for my Canik TP9 Elite Combat. I have looked at a few companies and they don’t make one for that excellent gun! But Fury does! I have an appendix rig from another very popular holster company for my Walther full-size 5 inch PDP. Only I had to order it for the 4 1/2 inch barrel because they don’t make one for the 5 inch and it sticks out of the bottom of the holster. It’s a really good holster, but doesn’t exactly fit my gun perfectly. Plus they don’t make one for my Canik. But what do you know?! Fury makes one for the 5 inch PDP AND the Elite Combat! Looks like I’m going to be ordering two holsters from Fury. One for my Canik and another one for my Walther 5 inch PDP.
There is a plethora of ss mpx videos and i've seen most of them because i'm thinking of buying one. Yours was really nice - without trying to be more than it is. Good work.
@@trainwreck2k2 I’m thinking it’s gotta be the accessories… if anything it should be about the same weight. The piston setup vs the mass required for direct blowback, I would think it equals out. But it’s a light gun in general
@@trainwreck2k2 heavy-ish or genuinely heavy in a sense that it presents a difficulty to operate, especially with a suppressor? Cause i plan to get one for wifey too.
Throw that bolt back like you mean it! Short-jacking it is part (at least) of what's causing your ejection problems. Those things are meant to be run hard.
No, I’m not “short-jacking” the action. It’s running all the way to the catch every single time. Sure, I could run the bolt a little harder but I’m not shooting for time in these videos. Thanks for the comment though
If I remember correctly, the 10k life span was only for hard use with no proper cleaning cycle. What I understand is clean it regularly, and don’t go cyclic every time you fire, and it should last significantly longer

Great question. I actually did a side by side comparison of recoil and a couple drills with the PDP SF and my DVC3G for the full review video I have coming out soon. I have way more rounds through my DVC3G, but it was the more favorable based off the data
I’m looking to buy this weapon and you jacked this all up, If I built this weapon…I would make a video about you!!! 3 screws man, GCRY!!!! Tighten them
