Mr Aizenberg reminds me of a Jewish client of mine who was from Russia and made his way to the UK in the late 30s to escape Stalin. For all the suffering that he went through he had a quiet dignity and whilst he had every right to be bitter he wasn't because he realised that would only poison his life.

I love the old gentleman who survived the Nazis. He lost his parents and his brother to Hitler's monstrous regime, but he says, "I have no argument with God." After telling us he lost his whole family in the Holoaust, he says of God, ""He made it up to me." His words made tears come to my eyes.

It is not as if the Jews were born as talented business people. If you read the Old Testament carefully, you will understand that the Jews were basically farmeŕs, working their land as well as skilled in certain professions like potteŕs, csrpenters, builders etc. Only after they were spread out to other countries and through decades of anti- semitism, they were fòrbìďden to practìse their original professiòns and therefore they retreated to thr onĺy way of making a living: business!! (This is to put the whole thing in a nutshell). 💰

As a young teen, my youth group spent an afternoon with a Rabbi in his synagogue. What an afternoon it was! He was so kind to us ignorant kids-answering question after question. He showed us a menorah, told it's story, it's significance. When he showed us the Torah I got weak in the knees. He handled it with such reverence & it was so beautiful. Then he took it out of it's covering-there it was-so simple- each line, each letter so precisely spaced, so clean, so clear. I thought it more beautiful than it's covering. I was afraid to breathe near it, fearing moisture from my breath would cause damage. I don't Rabbi's name, but I'll never forget seeing that Torah & how it made me feel. I have a menorah. I honor the Rabbi, victims of the Holocaust & my friends who are Jewish.

Why are you being so hateful? It is ignorance that fuels hate. Please educate yourself. I am an atheist (basically) but I don't hate any people from any religion because they are from said religion/culture. That is the epitome of ignorance and lack of critical thought and logic. I am glad you do not live in my country. We have enough white supremacist and the like that the fool in charge, Trump, emboldened through his pedagogically impaired rhetoric and damaged mental state. We had relegated the hate mongers to the fringes of our society until he showed up and vomited his hate speech everywhere. Just stop hating. It goes to your own insecurities with self and your own place in the world.

+Heywood Juhblowme Jews represent the pure Human race. That's why serpent/humans want to annihilate them. And the giants (so-called aliens) don't particularly like either one... As, the REVEALER OF SECRETS shown to me --> keys to the Human race. How three races came through the Great Deluge by way of Noah's son's wives. As follows: Japheth = Reptilian (Cain's descendants, royal bloodline) Shem = Human Ham = Giants (so-called aliens) Note: Some of the Reptilians call themselves Jewish. Hence, it causes confusion between ruler Jews and Human Jews.

I actually doesn't know much about Jewish traditions. In the 80-ies I was an au-pair with a Jewish family in Reading. They weren't orthodox but only lived by a few rules (e.g. little signs with prayers on all the doorframes) and they never minded me asking about their traditions. They were the kindest and most loving and empathic people and they took me to their family as a member of the family. They loved my traditional danish cooking and treated me so good. I wish I could meet them again. Tried to google them, but haven't had much luck. This documentary is very enlightening to me. I'm just very sad for all they have to endure during WW2 and the stigma they have to live with because of ignorance.

My background is Jewish but my family are very secular. Religion for us is more just a philosophical musing than dedication to a god. I never had a bar mitzvah or observe any of the holidays (other than "Christmukkah" haha). I sometimes think about converting fully to reconnect with that ancestry (my grandparents are more Jewish so it'd please them too). But it'd probably be a reform/liberal branch. I can give up shell fish (yack) but nothing tastes better than a bacon cheeseburger so not sure about that rule there!

I loved this programme it's lovely to see real families having fun, This is so nice to see all these generations celebrating together, It's also nice to see just because some practise their faith in a stricter manner, They don't make a big deal out of the ones whom choose not to. I like that, It shows diversity & tolerance, really enjoying this glimpse in the jewish faith!

I will always remember Jack Aizenberg (by the way, that's one of my family last name), he seems to be such an honorable man. It got me when he said he had no argument against God... He endured pain, he tested his faith and he is still there standing like a champion. It reminds me of Victor Frankl. Lastly, I could not hold my tears when he said that his grandson was his brother.

D Zuke, I cannot believe how articulately you have put things. Thank you so much for sharing. What you say is sadly, so true. Whenever someone is snippy or downright nasty, (And especially if such behaviours occur regularly.) I quickly realize the perpetrators are very insecure people. But let's face, they aren't bored, usually not consciously anyway, because they are so self-absorbed. Speaking for myself, I'm not the most self-actualized of people, but the diminishment of others, acting officiously, power-tripping, I just don't get the allure. Commonsense, inner dignity, and a backbone are far more rare than one would care to realize; the cyber world has done a lot of wonder things, but unfortunately it's also an all-too-easy vehicle to use for trashing others, and other views that don't reflect one's own. Indubitably, we all have our moments where we should have conducted ourselves better, been kinder, more patient and empathetic, and so on. That said, always striving to to lift others up, help inspire them, not put them down is one of the best things in the world. That and sharing one's life with animals, as they tend to be more loving, loyal, devoted, and last but not least, forgiving. Namaste.

I appreciated this show so much and learned a lot about a culture that I am interested in, but do not know much about. I think it is good for people of a specific community to communicate things about their culture so that we can learn rather than do or say something mistakenly offensive-like Anglos have done to me/my kids/their dad...such as "Oh your Native American, I dressed up as an Indian for Halloween" or the comment said to us the most, "My grandmother was a Cherokee princess."

It's a religious reason that Jews are not allowed to intermarry. It's talked about in scripture. It's also why we're still a nation. It doesn't mean we don't like non-jews. Both of my parents worked with non-Jewish people who were really nice.

I'm not religious, but I've done this a few times while staying with religious families. It's actually pretty nice because you see all the members of your community in synagogue in the morning, and then spend the whole day with your family after that. you can read, kids can play, and normally you just get to catch up with everyone and eat all day. I'm very secular but its super refreshing after spending a week working and on my phone constantly.

such a moving documentary. beautifully done! with all the wrongs in this world, nice to see people keeping to themselves and observing what they see fit. cant equate anything nice with a horrific thing from the opposite end - they all have their own space and place. awareness and coexistence is the way to go. alas, people forget that little knowledge is dangerous. moment they step out of their little cubicle, world is big and more understanding.

740: In 740 A.D. in a land locked between the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea, known as Khazaria, a land which today is predominantly occupied by Georgia, but also reaches into Russia, Poland, Lithuania, Hungary, and Romania, the modern Jewish race is born. A modern Jewish race that incidentally is not Jewish. How can this be, you ask? Well at that time, the Khazarian people felt vulnerable people as they had Muslims on one side of them and Christians on the other side of them, and thus constantly feared attack from either side. Furthermore, the Khazarian people were of neither faith and instead practiced idol worship, which made them ripe for invasion by a people who wished to convert them to an established faith. The Khazarian King, King Bulan, decided in order to protect themselves against attack, the Khazarian people must convert to one of these faiths, but which one? If they converted to the Muslim faith they would risk attack by the Christians and if they converted to the Christian faith they would risk attack by the Muslims. He had an idea. There was another race that he was aware was able to deal with both the Muslims and the Christians on either side of him, predominantly in matters of trade. A race that also dealt with Khazarians in the same manner. That race was the Jews. King Bulan decided if he instructed his people to convert to Judaism he could keep both the Muslims and the Christians happy, as they were both already willing to trade with the Jews, so this is what he did. King Bulan was right. He would live to see his country unconquered, and his people convert to Judaism enthusiastically and adopt the principles of the holiest Jewish book, the Talmud. There are many things the king would not have to see, however. He would not live to see his Asiatic race of converts to Judaism, one day represent 90% of all the Jews on the planet, and call themselves Ashkenazi Jews, when in fact they were not Jews, but simply an Asiatic race of people who converted to the Jewish religion, whilst still continuing to speak the Khazarian language of Yiddish, totally different to the language of Hebrew. He would not live to see his people turn to the descendants of a man, far more powerful than him, who would be born just over 1,000 years later in Germany, a man named Bauer, who would spawn the Rothschild dynasty. He would not live to see this dynasty usurp the wealth of the world through deception and intrigue, which they would finance through the vast riches they accumulate as they usurp the wealth of the world by gaining control of the world's money supply. He would not live to see his people demand a homeland for themselves in Palestine as their birthright, and ensure every Prime Minister there from its inception in 1948 is an Ashkenazi Jew, even though the true homeland of the Ashkenazi Jews, Khazaria, is his kingdom, some 800 miles away. And he would not live to see his people fulfill bible prophecy, as the "synagogue of Satan."
