Thanks for keeping a lookout for the rules. We're definitely aware of that one. Are you talking about the combat that takes place at 11:44? The marine goes on-gaurd at 9:38, which is all in the second TP. So no rules violated there, unless you were talking about a different moment?
Late to the party, but I think that you were supposed to gain a CP from the autosavant at 24:16, from the second use of the shoot on death thing. It would've let you counter the tac op.
You're never too late! as for the autosavant, Pond mentioned this just after during his defense dice roll at 23:56. He immediately used the cp reroll on the saving throw. so the extra point never made it to later in the vid where the cp graphics are. All is good there, thanks for keepin a lookout though
@@DodgethisCZtypically surveyor, grenadier, gunner (las volley if you don't want to reduce the servitor to a heavy bolter, but las-volley is pretty good in its own right and some people preferred it to plasma even before the limitation of 2 AP2 weapons was implemented), and three of axe jack, hatchcutter, endurant, and CAT.
cool, battlereport! I have a question! on 11.39, how could the sister charge trough the engangement range of captain Justian? I think you can only charge through an engagement range of an enemy if he is already in in an ER of one of your guys. But Justian is not. So I guess he had to be the target of the charge?thx!
You're absolutely right About engagement ranges. It does look like that charge passed through engagement range Sometimes models get a little knocked around during recording so we may have missed it in the crossing in the moment, but good catch
it always feels so odd that the maps are always symmetrical. If the layouts were varied like Warcry then chosing the attacker / defender would make sense to chose defender to have the choice of side. Attacker seems to have all the advantages. Why would you take strike force Justinian over the standard marine list?
It doesnt make sense in ITD so much as it does in Outside play. And depending on the mission, in ITD, if you dont play matched play, but the missions from the expansion books are very different depending on attacking or defending.
Into the dark terrain is symmetric, but open boards are asymmetric. on open there defiantly is a bit more reason to choose defender if 1 side of the map has a visible advantage. but we agree with you, we've had talks about changing it so the defender wins draws in the scouting step. that way they have the disadvantage of deploying first but advantage over init control. As for the justian list. we like to try out all the teams here on the channel, and they are the new guys on the block. they are also a totally different vibe, so its just personal choice. I probably would not take them to any tourney because of their lack of equipment and tac ops. but they are a good team for someone learning the game.
Im curious, what happened with the Captain, something dont add up. He took one strike from a sister, saved all shots from autopistol, and then u rolled 2 invuln saves and retained 1 invuln? and he still died?! first of all, im not sure about retaining cover saves with invulnerability rules. Secondly, the editing of the video made it sound like he was going hot with the autopistol and then said he was going hot with the plasma. But the saves from the dice cam, looked like you saved first with 3+ and saved all three incoming shots, and then u rolled 4 and 5 on invuln + the questionable retain of invuln save. That means he should still be on 11 wounds. But he died?! Whats going on here? feels like im taking crazy pills.
So I made an unintuitive play there, I actually did make the neccessary saves to save the leader, but I actually elected to let the hits come through. That way I can let the leader die and he can shoot with wrath of vengeance. 2 reasons for this: 1. is Pond's plasma was my biggest threat, and its able to potentialy 1shot my units. getting rid of it means he's going to have a near impossible time killing me. also no model was in position to take a follow up shot. the heavy intercessor has only 4'' movement. 2. if I didn't let my leader die during that shot, Pond's death worlds vet would charge my leader and kill it in combat. meaning it would no longer be able to shoot with wrath of vengeance bc it was engaged.
