I still have a tub of Mason Boutique's Evelyn. Good soap. I also tried a sample of their "Cougar" ....great scent. Looking forward to trying this.

“This blade is just done” but Michael keeps shaving. “There’s a certain roughness to it” and still keeps shaving. You regularly make me chuckle and I think it’s generally unintentional.

Thanks again Michael for your useful tips. Always welcome 👍 My utter frustration in the world of wet shaving is demonstrated by the Karve razor. Cris at Another Cut Above also sings the praises of the aluminum razor. Go to the website... Sold Out! I added my name to the waiting list, but they gave no idea of where anyone was, so I just didn't bother. Same thing with much vaunted brushes : It sometimes feels like that to earn the right to maybe own one, you must first finish many levels and defeat the end of level baddie 😁 (you get the idea?) and I really can't be bothered again. Wolf Whiskers : Turn'n'Shave... Just never gonna happen.

Same sentiments for me koosk. I signed up quite some time ago and still no word. The whole aluminum razor thing piqued my curiosity and so I bought a Timeless aluminum. While I'd still prefer the Karve, the Timeless has been a great shaver and an introduction to aluminum and its benefits. And, yes, I am preferring the liter material. A C plate aluminum Karve would make for a fabulous shave I think.

@@vinyljunkie64 Give you a great example : Again many on here singing the praises of the Homelike Start razor, so having given up with Karve, I try for that. Online Chat : The razor including the 0.69mm plate sold out...Handle and 0.69mm plate available separately, but more expensive. I ask if I can buy as a set? No! And I'm advised it'll be available in a couple of months! Eh, nah.

@@koosk41 Very sorry to hear this, but I'm not surprised. This seems to be the standard business model for many in this industry. While I'm not a machinist, my father was and I've been exposed to machine shops all my life. It really shouldn't be this way, unless of course these shops are machining much more than razors. Some , if not most, probably are.

I totally agree, and I understand the frustration. I eventually gave up trying to get on the initial waiting list for the true waiting list for a Wolfman razor. This is a big problem, but in some ways a good one: very high demand is a good thing, and I can only imagine how much work these artisan manufacturers are putting into meeting that demand (more sales for them!). All I can say is just keep trying, other people are getting in and so will you. As for that last boss in the game, it's the satisfaction of finally beating that guy that makes the rage quitting seem unimportant :-)

Nice shave, Michael! That Karve razor has a very appealing look to it. That along with the performance makes it sound like a great razor. I'm not sure how I feel about the light weight. I have a few aluminum razors and those that have a stainless steel counterpart tend to lose out in usage to the stainless steel. It could be a silly sub-conscious bias on my part. Cheers! -Rob

I do like a bit of heft as well, but this just feels right in the hand and I love the look. The stainless steel is just as good a razor, but the aluminum looks great with the same excellent performance. Nice to have such top notch available to wetshavers!!

Hi Michael. Soap seemed real good despite the tight feel. The Karve seemed excellent too but like others the color scheme really doesn`t do it for me. All in all a very good shave. Thank you.

Hi Michael, would like to try both that soap and that razor. I have the Karve in Brass and I believe the extra plates I have would work in the aluminum version. Cheers

I think all the plates are inter-changeable -- mix and match the metals!! Heavy brass handle, aluminum head; or reverse it! Looks like they are trying to get more of the soap and aftershave in stock??

Great shave Michael. You will like the India version of the Gillette Wilkinson Sword much better than the Chinese version. Much smoother and more comfortable. I'm really loving the Gillette SkinGuard cartridges and right now I am up to shave #13 on a cartridge and it's still going strong.

I may open that pack of blades next, I have a very clear recollection of how the others felt (grin)! I wonder how many shaves that SkinGuard will give you -- maybe the better lather is helping improve its longevity?

@@mfreedberg I'm thinking that is why I'm getting so many shaves out of one in addition to stropping the cartridge 5 times on a towel after using it. I've never gotten this many shaves out of a cartridge before and that says a lot too.

I suspect blooming was invented by some soap seller who wanted to sell some more. Blooming is not needed - and no it is not even needed for the hardest Dr.Harris puck. Edit: the razor looks fantastic with the red and black - reminds me of rotring pencils, but I would prefer a Karve razor in Stainless steel.

I love the red and black, looking for a custom button clasp watch band with black leather and red stitching. Blooming is entirely unnecessary, and I will continue to do my best to end this soap mistreatment.

I think this happens as vendors send out products for review, you see them appear in videos in waves. I never watch other people's videos if I am preparing to review something, I want my impressions to be free of their influence :-)

Nice review Michael💈 Yeah, I think at the moment, "La Befana" only comes in a LE "kit", pre-order and of course I could be mistaken🤔 I bet Scott at Captain's Choice shudders every-time you mention his purpose made as intended and described artfully on his website, local artisan hand made "Lather bowl" as anything but😁 The Karve razor, regardless of material used for production is a great shaver. I have an original(old now) brass version, 4" handle w/A-D plates, C-D plates are all I use, beautiful. 👍👍video as always. Enjoy!

He can shudder all he likes, I still use the "bowl" every week :-) The Karve is, simply, an excellent razor. Nuff said.
