@@michaelloder5150 ..if. You think about. It. It was moffat vs string all over again. How he tried to kill airwolf with his revolver and, string kept firing away. Same here
Kudos to the pilot of that beautiful machine. 4ft from the deck gear up like it's nothing in that bird. That man had balls back in the day. No cgi garbage. Main rotor few feet from ground in a bunch of episodes.
just love this lady xxxxx i loved to see her flying. But i sometimes think they also used rc because there was a scene with redwolf that you could really see how little the chopper was
Shout out to Lance LeGault. The actor who played the sheriff. He was a character actor who always played a heavy. With that great voice of his, he was a welcome addition to 80's television. Rest in Peace and Glory, sir!
Until this day, after watching many series and movies. String is still the coolest character for me. Such a talent Jan-Michael Vincent was in playing him.
Sweet Britches one of my favourite episodes - and introduced Jean Scott Bruce! 'God In Heaven (twice).... String Fellow Hawke shouldn't be too hard finding a man with a name like that'... Awesome!!! RIP Jan Micheal, Ernest and Alex. Made my Saturday afternoons as a kid... Thanks!
Think he means THE LADY the bell jet ranger they used for Airwolf was converted to medical life flights in France i believe she crashed think it was 5 dead.
Always gave me chills to see AirWolf hovering in place like 4 feet off the ground with gear up. Even turning in place to face it's targets. Chain guns at eye level.
Indeed! I believe one of the main shots of it flying despite all the footage is the top view of the rotors! They used this view in situations where they where trying to make things looks fast.
Caitlyn O' Shaunacie's (Jean Bruce Scott) debut in Airwolf for the next 2 seasons. Some of the following stories after this one I remember very well. Dom (Ernest Borgnine ) gets injured in some stunt that he and Stringfellow Hawke were flying and Caitlyn had to fly with String for several episodes. Then season 3's first story "The Horn of Plenty" with the late Richard Lynch as John Bradford Horn brainwashes String, Dom is drugged , and Caitlyn rescues String and this was my favorite story.
Well ....... chainguns, rockets! A little more extreme than a car rolling over or the bad guy getting punched out. But I see your point. Funny, you'd think there be more deaths shown on the A-Team given all the gunfire and explosions that take place.
... Admire the coolness of The Lady. Probably my favourite end sequence in the series. The music, the cowboy who says "It's the aliens, they come back for her!" ...and that ear piercing scream as Airwolf rolls into town! #OldSchool80sCool
@@derekwarr8567 String was not the Law, but he did live by the Code Of The West. He gave the dirty sheriff two chances: release Caitlin unharmed & let her go; hold fire & surrender. The Pope County Sheriff backshot his own deputy, attempted to kill a DPW Officer with Hawke as a witness. No choice but to take him down hard. Hawke was an honorable man.
AirWolf may have been more advanced and can fly rings around Blue Thunder, but at first glance Blue Thunder had that intimidation factor in its appearance.
@@DocMicrowave Also, wasn't Blue Thunder the only one that could do a full loop? Airwolf could only do 2/3 - 3/4 before having to roll, which was still very impressive by helicopter standards, right? But, couldn't Airwolf, or the Bell 22A fly higher and faster than any other stock helicopter of the era? Hmm... will need to research... God I miss that show... and the cheesy acting. Never was a fan of S4, though, when they got the new crew.
@@kennymager2433 Do you mean a full upside down loop? I think that I remember Airwolf doing it once or twice. I don't know if that is actually possible in real life.
String & Dom were lucky that there wasn't anyone outside the Sheriff's station seeing the black helicopter wreck the place and killed the rogue sheriff in self-defense to save Caitlin's life.
I always think when I see J.M.V. (rest in peace) on this show I keep remembering with awe how he was in a big western with John Wayne. Must've been an honor for him.
Airwolf was without a doubt one of the best TV shows of my childhood, out of many amazing flight chase sequences this particular scene with the theme song in the background with Airwolf hovering maybe 3 or 4ft of the ground is just absolutely amazing, loved every second of it. RIP Jan Michael Vincent.
Why is it that not one person even bothered to think that Airwolf, much less who's flying her, was part of a government program, and for all intent and purpose, Airwolf and her crew doesn't exist - not even on paper.
How could anyone think that? They stole her and hid her in monument valley. They did missions for archangel. Sometimes bad guys stole air wolf and they had to get her back. No one thinks anything after we lost Jan micheal Vincent to alcoholism and later he died. America loved him in that role. They forgave him his failings and loved him until the end.
I saw on the web not that long ago. The town that they used to film this episode was up for sale. Now if they could have included Air Wolf it might not that bad of a deal.
This was the coolest show because the amazing helicopter was actually stunt piloted to hover, rotate, bank low and all kinds of maneuvers that were real and as a kid that was mind blowing to see.
Yeah this series was awesome growing up, I still think of airwolf when ever I see a jet ranger in the air as it has those 222 lines to the nose. That helicopter is the SR71 Blackbird of the rotary wing world for just looking like perfection. I was saddened to hear the airwolf airframe crashed some time back in Germany in bad weather on a medivac flight. That's all of them gone now🙏
When Caitlin found Stringfellow Hawke a few weeks after he & Dominic Santini left Texas following saving her life and getting rid of the corrupt sheriff, Caitlin could've given Stringfellow a big kiss to show her gratitude for saving her life..
@@Scioneer Ah yes. I remember that one. Had one of the best escapes by AirWolf. Turbo boost on the ground. I do remember him in that episode trying to track down AirWolf.
LOL. Even though Hawke is in an indestructible (at least with a rifle - lest he shoot it up the fueling port) helicopter he really has no choice but to utterly OBLITERATE the station. lol
@@jimbob.2299yeah thanks Jim Bob. We all watched the clip. Lol. You’re right, there was no way he could hover in front of her chopper like he did before and after! That’s some fine thinking Jim Bob!
Caitlin was so determined to find Stringfellow Hawke after he & Dominic left Texas quickly instead of sticking around to answer questions after they defeated a rogue sheriff. though it took her a couple of weeks to see String again.
I finally visited Desert Center California on the way back from San Diego on vacation with my Girlfriend we also stopped and saw Charlie's House in Top Gun very cool and also visited the USS Midway Museum . Sweet Britches was the last stop on our journey very very cool to see these locations in person brings back good memories from my childhood!
Much Love and Respect For Jan Michael Vincent and Earnest Borgnine I had a beer on location and poured some on to the ground in honor of there legacy this show will always be in my heart !
I love this so much. I love the sentence " please , don't Make me do it" . Sjips here we go again. Now that's confidence. If you know you are stronger. You try to stay nice.
This was one of the best episodes of Airwolf Don Bellisario was amazing TV producers his TV show list Black Sheep Squadron, Magnum PI, and of course Airwolf. I love the noise they used for that Hughes 500 sounded like a playing card flapping against bicycle spokes
Well, Airwolf is finally on Blu Ray and I got myself a neat download package of HD Airwolf goodies. This old series look pretty good in HD. Jean Bruce Scott is very hot in this episode. Loved here typical 80s tight jeans......(man, I wish women these days still wore them like they did in the 80s).
Did you see Jean Bruce Scott on some episodes of the original Magnum,P.I. series in which she portrayed a US Naval officer who sometimes helped Magnum on a case?
The corrupt sheriff lost his mind thinking his ordinary rifle would take down Airwolf and he forced Stringfellow Hawke to take him down. Caitlin thought she was going to make him stay to answer for blowing up the sheriff and his jail, even after he saved her life. But she was determined to find him even after he and Dom flew away fast.
Airwolf was an utterly brilliant TV series. A real winner by Donald P Bellisario. Jan Michael Vincent who played Stringfellow Hawk and Ernest Borgnine who played Dominic Santini are both sadly deceased now. Jean Bruce and Alex Cord who played Caitlin O'Shaughnessy and Michael Archangel still alive though. Would love someone to make a movie version updated for the 2020s.
If Caitlin told her mother about the 2 men in a fully armed helicopter who saved her from a renegade sherlff who tried to kill her because she found out he was hunting men for sport, and if she got to meet String & Dom,would she hug them to show her appreciation for saving her daughter‘s life? Would she try to make String and Caitlyn to become more than friends whether she would know or not that String was in the US Army fighting in Vietnam?
I always loved how Hawk would come in chain guns going making small bits out of a target and the bad guys would try to shoot him down with hand guns. Sheriff don't make me do it... Shreds anything that was in the jail beyond recognition and then for good measure puts a rocket inside. I would be the one that sees the vehicles torn to bits and walked out hands up throwing the guns down. The human body is not going to do any better than a vehicle when it gets blasted with 600 rounds a minute. And every episode they do the same thing.. LOL I do think Kaitlin should have jumped out of her chopper, after Hawk secured the area to see if that deputy who was helping her and was shot was still alive that would have been more realistic of her position as a Helicopter Cop... If he was alive put him in the chopper for an emergency trip to a hospital while talking to Hawk in the air. Would have added maybe 1 minute to the Show. Might have brought him back in another episode where he recognizes Airwolf but has gone good... I would love to see a relaunch like how they did Knight Rider 2000.
"c'mon sherrif don't make me do it" and instead of firing warning shots, like 1-3 rounds.....he lets rip about 500-1000 rounds directly at the building and then tops it off with a missile. Nice "warning" right there.
hedegaard8 Good points, but the sheriff was shooting at Catilyn and trying to kill her. Probably at that point, Hawk thought he had to just kill the sheriff in order to save her. The missile at the end was maybe overkill, but hey it's Airwolf :) I remember even when I saw this scene as a kid, I thought the sheriff completely deserved it.
I rewatched the whole scene now and hmmm, perhaps you're right. Perhaps he did deserve it as he was shooting at Caitlyn. (I had initially thought he was shooting at Airwolf and the bullets were just bouncing off) Hawk "could have/would have/should have" perhaps fired some bullets in front of him and see if he'd stop then and then if not, then just shoot him. But yeah, its Airwolf, and what is Airwolf without a missile or two to give that grandiose explosion at the end :)
Um......actually he could have simply flown a few feet to the left in front of the sheriff blocking the rifle shots.....then flown away. LOL. Would not have been a very good episode however ;-)
Watched the pilot, few weeks back. Cant believe that was 35 years ago. Sad feeling came over me, knowing everyone is gone now. With the exception of alex cord, who just turned 86.
Danke für die Erinnerung. Habe alle Folgen direkt beim Start auf VHS Kasette gesehen./Thanks for the reminder. I saw all the episodes on VHS tape right at the start.
Huge fan of the show....was watching this episode for the 5th time on tape, when my older brother casually watching said "why'd he have to do it?"......UH........DOH!!!!
If Caitlin told her mother about Stringfellow Hawke who saved her life from a corrupt sheriff with an advanced helicopter and blew him up after she got released, how would she have felt that Hawke had to after the rogue sheriff tried to kill her with his rifle after she was on her way to safety?
