I think I saw a motley collection of MiGs (15 & 17,) an A4 Skyhawk, a pair of F4E Phantom IIs, an F86 and a pair of single seat F15Cs with tail markings (FF) for Langley AFB squadrons, but ZERO F14s.
There was an episode where they dud show Toms but never against the Lady. She just tore up roque choppers, migs, modified bombers, and experiemental craft gone rogue. She ate plenty of ground units including ZSU- 23s, T-55s, T-65s, experimental tanks, laser weapons, nuclear mirv missiles, and a took out a few cowboys here and there
Has to be D-models. I dont think the strike eagle was available for stock footage while Airwolf was on the air. Hard to tell, given the angle and lighting, but, it does look like a 2-seater. And, you don't generally see E models carrying sparrow missiles.
@@riteousrighthand6144 If you look closely, I think those were single seat F15s, in that era that would make those F15Cs. The 15E was and is a twin seat bird and at the time I think the only active squadrons were based at Seymour Johnson AFB in North Carolina (I saw those planes, tail markings 'SJ' when I flew into SJ as a military courier) though I could be wrong.
@@robertf3479 I was stationed at SJAFB, with the 333FS. It's hard to tell, because you never get a good angle at the canopies. I'll have to take a closer look. But, yeah, I don't see E models here.
@@riteousrighthand6144 I got a good look at the side profile of the two birds at 3:40, both were carrying what appear to be AMRAMM or SPARROW missiles along the fuselage sides though I don't see anything on the wing hardpoints, not even racks for SIDEWINDER. hadn't heard of the Strike Eagle prior to my first visit to SJ, it opened my eyes about how much untapped potential there was in the F15 platform. I ALMOST felt sorry for the Iraqi Army and AF when the F15Es were deployed to Saudi for DS/DS. I arrived in that theater a few months later, joining USS Nassau on station just off shore of Kuwait about halfway through the Air Campaign.
This is cool see seven different types of aircraft going up against airwolf I grow up watching the show as a fan back in the 80s and still would love to get a helicopter like everyone built if I had the money
I remember that scene at 0:43 when the guy eventually grabs the frontend of Airwolf and is lifted up. But at this particular scene it was actually pretty close between the guy standing there and the rotor blades of the helicopter spinning just being less than a meter (or 3ft) away from him. A close call.
@@airwolfjames8985 it is impossible to get rotors to spin fast enough to get the speed to Mach 1 they’d break with air resistance at that speed even thou according to airwolf stats it disengages the rotors to go Mach 1 plus but been still on outside they would snap off
@@deanjohn433 This is true. What seems impossible but is true is there are aircraft PROPELLERS that spin fast enough that the tips are supersonic. TU-95 and related do this. They make a hell of a racket that you can hear from the ground even when the plane is at altitude several miles away.
@@robertf3479 that’s my other point and there’s not the technology to silence rotor noise and airwolf is ment to be able to be stealthy and has whisper mode now in reality whisper mode can never happen because the mechanics making the rotors spin make noise and at enough power to stay in the air it would be deafening lol but I’m not saying movie magic couldn’t make something sci-fi exist that could make it possibleish
In real life, the J-CATCH military exercises showed that in close combat, a helicopter would have a 5-to-1 advantage over a jet. The only plane that could give a helicopter a hard time at close range is the A-10, due to their "low and slow" nature.
You clearly never lived in this era. This was long before the technology we take for granted today was around. Even the internet wasn't running then. I loved this as a kid and love reminiscing. The 80s was a great decade.
Lol wow! Those guys were cheap with their special effects. I think I've seen the helicopter go over the same bunch of trees four or five times and I think they had about five or six different types of jets...
If about airwolf our in country i hope and 2021 this year...i hope to see a beautiful in the country for fight in china...because its amazing airfighter in the country also in china...i hope to see imbention again...
This post seems to be a put together hodge podge of a bunch of different episodes . The jets were never the same, ,different people in the cockpit. Poorly done.
Hey y'all, I like this airwolf clips but I would like to know where I can see the full episodes in this days, I saw most of them in their prime time when I think CBS was showing them weekly but I want to see them again, someone help please, thanx in advance,. J J in H town.
How many of you are aware that what you were looking at for the majority of the time on that show was remote control aircraft, including Airwolf herself. That's how they did the combat scenes. The only way this show should be reintroduced is as an animation, and not with repeats of the old series, with an updated version with new characters.
I’d like a new airwolf series with same airwolf with updated technology and fighting modern aircraft and many a new version of airwolf comes along like with airwolf 2 or hx1
Hey Elaine, you know I didn’t know that until recently there’s on scene we’re you can notice it big time it’s like Airwolf being held by a hand I think season 3 with the plane episodes called fortune teller. I’d love to see them re do this series too to modern times could easily kick butt against apaches and F22 raptors. 😀 thanks for watching 🙏🏼😎
@@airwolfjames8985 they probably won’t because it be a massive budget and times have changed since the 80s they’ve tried with knight rider and that failed multiple times same as the A-team
That's incorrect. Most shots of Airwolf are the actual helicopter flying. Shots of weapon pod deployment and countermeasures were model shots. A few RC shots were done here and there, but not the majority. Season 4, done in Canada with another cast, didn't have access to the flying helicopter so it relied model shots and stock-footage.
If you stop at 1:38 you can see the gauges are off. The at 1:56, who if hell is that? That’s not Borgnine and he’s not even suited up. He’s in a collared shirt. Then at 2:00 JMV is also in normal attire. I used to love this show. If the editing was this trash, then I can see why it got canceled.
