I bought a new Sam Dimas and the quality was very disappointing. Crappy hardware and factory mistakes. A shame since I loved the neck. Tried an Ibanez prestige instead and that just blows the MIM away and at a similar price point as well since the Ibanez comes with a high class hardcase and Charvel in a cardboard box.
Bro you probably bought an az premium. They are priced at $1300 US Compared to $1000 US for the charvel. An Ibanez prestige costs $2000+. I’ve played both the az and charvel and this one totally feels way better than the Ibanez az. You’re right about quality in terms of hardware and overall minor details. The knobs are of plastic and the pickup selector feels cheap but damn the playability of the charvel just destroyed the aZ IMO. Much more smother and comfortable to play. That to me is more important than hardware and minor aesthetic detail. This charvel literally feels like a guitar that is worth $2000+. It also has one of the best features at the $1000 price point.
