78 years young and just started surf fishing because of your videos. Surf casting at Babylon beaches for last ten days. No fish yet. But not giving up yet. Thanks for the videos. Paul
I like the honesty in your videos, you share the ups and downs of fishing, trial and errors, and the true die hards know how that goes, isn’t always lights out fishing. Tight lines this season stay safe !
Very pleasant video. The last time I was on the East Cost was 40 years ago (New Haven area). The Pencil Popper and Bucktails were the goto lures for Strippers and Blue fish at the time. I had a Penn conventional paired up with a Fennwick, don't remember if it was 15 footer. All the memories are flooding back. Nantucket, Cost Gaurd Beach, Mystic Pizza before the movie. Ice icicles forming on my mustache and beard. Dave and Eddy's sea food restaurant. After a little while I had my special table. So many memories. Thanks, I needed this little trip.
Dude, your videos are the reason I am going to give saltwater fishing a go this year. I'm usually a freshwater guy, but i got my first surf rod, going to head out this weekend. Thanks for the inspiration and knowledge. And entertainment.
proud to have our gear on your belt Paulie!!! Man, that water is super cold at sunrise. Now that May is fast approaching and Blues have arrived in the canal ( Shinny ) it will get warmer daily. Have a great season. PS we love the huge selection of lures/shads you have on a retail style set up at your house!
Tried Ocean Grove last night, fished top of the tide and beyond for a couple of hours 7:00pm - 9:30pm. Wind had shifted from west to east. Water was clean and not too rough. NO HITS.
That's awesome! I certainly will. I've got the 10'6 MH as well. I'm going to use that more for bucktailing at Montauk and in the inlets. I'd love to hear from you in the future as to how that rod is treating you!
I like how not all of your videos, such as this one, do not show you constantly catching fish on a good day. Fishing is full of good days and bad days and you show the reality of that in your videos.
These are in no way criticisms just personal observations of what works for me - I would scale down a bit to .5oz-.75oz rubber Shad’s for sure & 1oz Mag darters for now. No reason for much more than that. And focus on mostly backbay right now there’s not much action out front just yet.
How far does your van stall cast I went to get that or a Stella I want to carry a nice long casting spinning reel to go with my conventional reel setup
Exactly where you at i caught a 20lb bluefish i wish i could post the pic i use to live right by the CVS down the road i wont disclose the info but i miss that spot specifically on the other side of the bridge 😅
Welcome back for the new season, where did you get the studded frogg toggle boots? I called frogg toggle and was told that they don't make studded boots
The FroggToggs boots don’t come with the spikes. You have to buy the spikes separately. I linked both the boots, and the spikes in the description below the video 👍🏼🤙🏼🙌🏼
