I've never used live or dead bait because I don't really wanna catch a ray or shark! I'm sure the Calissa works at night but Ive never done that either.
Looks like Oyster Point? I recognize the big blue building at the beginning of the video? I live right there,we should hook up some time...LOL no pun intended
Yes, I usually use a fluoro leader, but only because everyone else does.😅Never thought to not use a leader until now. Will try putting my lure directly to the braid and see how I like it. Thanks!
@@HuyNguyen-lu3zj Let me know how it works out! I usually tie the braid to a swivel and an anglers clip. I'm not positive but i think the swivel may prevent the line from getting wound up on the cast and retrieve?
Yep, I tied a swivel clip directly to the braid. Tried it out last night and loved it. Easy to cast and feels more sensitive. Caught a 21 inch, 4 pound striper in the Bay.🤘 I like fishing your spot but I've never caught anything there. Then again, I've only fished it a couple times. What do you think are the best months there? Looking forward to the fall run! 🤙
@HuyNguyen-lu3zj nice, congrats! I've actually been out there a couple times since the last video and skunked! I might need to check out other spots this wknd. Been wanting to check out treasure Island
Leave the name, love the aloha spirit.... Especially since I found out its true meaning. Aloha is a very over used word that people.just throw out there lo!e it just another word.... Ok rant over, keep up the good videos!
Great Video man!! Can you explain the Treble Hooks modification you made on the Calissa? My Calissa 110 have 3 Treble Hooks that looks smaller. Also did you every tried the XRAP from Rapala (Sardine)?
Thank you! The stock hooks aren't very strong so I swapped them out for a little bit bigger and stronger. I can't remember the exact size or brand tho!
