Strobophagia: Rave Horror - Drink, Dance & Die at a Psychedelic Murder Rave Festival in the Woods! Available Now on Steam: store.steampowered.com/app/12...
Note: I've played previous in-developemnt builds of this before, but it's just been released on Steam. It features a lot more content and multiple raves to attend.
I know it's not related but about Webbed's demo, you put a link to play it in the description of the video you covered it in, it brings you on the game's Steam page but there's no button to play the demo. Is that normal?
@@alessandroamateis4146 Yeah, that demo was only available for a limited time only during a the Autumn Steam Game Festival. Hopefully it will pop up again during another festival. I rally love that 'lil spider! :)
Dear god. I'm not sure but I remember hearing that nividia's graphics card has special built in hardware that allows any non-vr game to have the camre duplicated and offset to match your eyes. I heard it a while ago but I don't know if it's true.
Honestly, given the ability to start fights I was hoping the player could make the rave go full manaead baccante with a Beast-distracting chain reaction of increasing raver-on-raver violence...a mob that may randomly tear you apart and throw your head in the river if you don't ride its flow correctly is far more terrifying thing than any one monster. Cute eyeballs, tho'. Still love the costumes.
As a person who is GENUINELY SCARED of raves and hardcore parties (but weirdly enjoys the music they play), this video scared the living shit out of me! The moment the thread in the mobile was saying that everyone was gonna die plus the aggresive electronic music was just too fucking much hahahah Still, I loved it and can't wait to try the game out!
i’ve never seen a game so effectively set up the terror of a monster by having it cruelly rip open dozens of your peers... only to shove you in a dark labyrinth with it. this game owns and i’m glad i got to see its final release!
Man, Strobophagia is one of the first games I've seen reviewed/played by ABG back when Covid started. Got hooked by the way he plays through these game and ABG became part of my YT rotation ever since. As a raver, gotta love the premise and most importantly the music (!) of this game. Glad to see ABG cover this many times along the way.
I was just thinking about this game again! Something that I'm curious about, is why do they all stare at you? Easy development choice, or something is REALLY off about the character you play, would be my guess. Anyways, thanks again for showing me games that I'll play when I don't have to pass extensive illicit substance testing!
Sound-designwise i wish the bass of the dance floors would carry further into the forest. Thats one of the most atmospheric/ awe-inspiring parts of real raves I feel, you can feel the bass even one village over
Thanks for asking :) It was a "healthy" mix of heaven and hell i think. If i should sum it up in just two words, it would be: Fucking Intense! Still weirds me out to think about my experience (2 years ago now), especially when seeing a game like this suddenly pop up in reality in the form of a game afterwards, because that's excactly what i felt part of at the moment!? Life is crazy and weird and probably further out there than we humans can even comprehend. Hope you have a good day, game on!
i'm not sure what kind of group or person is able to set up a party in this size and magnitude, because it's going to need a LOT of money and filling in documents, i also love how the aesthethics randomly change from psychedelic neon infested rave party with body painted glowing partygoers to pretty normal hotel-like place at night crowded with people infected by tumors
It's nice to see the final version come out and to see you give it a run Alpha 😉 Couple of questions that came along after watching this: 1) why not ask about the Amalgamation /Gods thing; 2) was this based off of a particular mythology? All-in-all definitely a different brand of horror game 👻👌
Ngl I feel like a lot of the horror was lost since the last version. Nowhere near as much wandering throuhg blackened woods, no dank chase sequences, and the appearance of the monster had no buildup, plus it moved in a really janky, silly way. And why did they cut out the music during action scenes or leave the first places without beats? Heavy EDM bass while you scramble to get messages from out in the open while a terror beast rips apart a party would be awesome! That, and we didn't get enough time jamming to the sick beats before it all turns tits up. I want puzzles to serve eldritch horrors set to dubstep, screw ambient sound.
Right tho? It feels so much more confused and less polished than the previous versions. You don't understand what's going on anymore, there is no real contrast to the blinding neon lights at every single corner, the jumpscares fall flat.
I absolutely love the concept of this game but I’m way too scared to play it myself. Whenever I watch your channel that’s the thought that comes to mind
...Wowwwww, as a huge trance/dubstep/techno/etc fan this game blew me away back in March or April when I first watched the earlier playthrough, this has come so far and looks and sounds amazing. 💜
Ah shit. Another go-around by ABG is all I wanted to find when I searched for this. You're one of the better overall gamers on this site when it comes to puzzle content so it's not just endless faffing about.
This reminds me of that one episode from Samurai jack, the rave episode. With all the teens and colors, plus the funky music. That and all the violence and demon powers.
I'm fan of this game, but in most parts its pretty chaotic for me. Idk its that cuz of montage, but how do ya know what u need to use and where? I wouldn't know how to go with the plot of this title. I think that the ending would be made in different way, but Strobo has 2 endings so maybe the first is worse. Describing everything with raw text isn't pleasing for me. In the other hand, graphic and music is much, much better. I love this style! I can't say it about the gameplay. I know, its similar to the demo, someone would say its even the same, but like the ending, it doesn't fit to me. But I can understand the dev team, cuz I woulnd't know how to align this style to the game. Its like its very good idea for film or something like that, but very hard to make into the game. Still, this indie game is one of my favorites, and I'm hoping that in some patches plot and gameplay will be expanded! Goodluck Green Tile Digital!
No one on earth would remember or know this reference. But this reminds me that one level on “The Wild Thornberrys” for PlayStation where the glowing green monkeys chased you in a maze.
Does this game featured multiplayer? In official channel, it state he was intentionally feature a PVP mode as "HUMAN VS HUMAN" or "MONSTER VS MONSTER".
