This guy is a total genius. This is a song about how hard and troublesome life is, and it's still a song that is played in clubs as a happy song, while the ones who dance to it are exactly the ones the song is about, depressed people troubled by problems, who need to dance a bit to forget about it.

My late cousin loved this song and would play it everyday and at every party or gathering. She was ill and always in pain from the crises of sickle cell disease. I only learned what the lyrics meant today and now i understand why it brought comfort to her. I'm glad it did. I know she's rested and is no longer in pain. This song gets me even more thankful and emotional. An impeccable song.

The bassline itself isn't actually that 'out there'. It reminds me a lot of Deep House basslines I've heard. (I mean from around 2013, current DH has very little to do with what it was 4 years ago). It's mostly the sound design of the bass that stands out. Sound design is very important in his music (and all pop) and he's done very well with this one, but if we're just looking at the bassline itself there isn't a whole lot going on. It does have a nice rhythm.
