This was actually pretty common in cartoons. Any time metal "culture" was involved in cartoons, there was never any actual metal music played, mainly because there was still the stupid stigma that metal was evil, and listening to it would turn you evil (because metal is awesome). Like there was a villain in GI Joe (was it Zartan?) who was apparently a heavy metal singer/enthusiast, and one of the episodes revolved around him and his heavy metal band going to corrupt youths or some garbage, but when they played it was VERY clearly some sort of synth wave music, and not even close to metal.
Strong Bad showing off this thing would be enough to make lost media enthusiasts jump for joy. People showing lost things through tapes they just so happen to have are often the saving grace in lost media cases
"Worst Animator - B. Bretterson" That's not very fair. It's hard getting good at animating when you're only the figment of a fictional stick-figure character's imagination!
You know, I was thinking about this email. Teeg Dougland only mentions "an alternative rock group" without giving out the name, and Limozeen automatically knows who he's talking about.
This was my first Strong Bad Email, believe it or not. I can still remember the scroll button song, when this was at the top of the list. "Scroll Button and the Lappy, together at last. Whoever knew a screen could scroll so fast?"
I just now, after all these years, realized that the line of Teeg's chin stays in place when he talks, causing his mouth flaps to overlap it. That is QUALITY low-quality animation.
+MystPlayesGames Strong Bad: Homestar, get this through your head: I Do not Want Another Deep Impact DVD! Homestar: What?! You don't like it?! Strong Bad: Well the movie I like because Spielberg is a producer of that movie, but I DON'T like the fact that you give me so many freakin copies of it!
I've got a problem, guys. Strongbad told us to gouge our eyes out if it wasn't the best thing we've ever seen, but...but I've seen Onion Bubs! What do I do?
It's also Talking Heads! Tina Weymouth on bass, Chris Franz (with short hair) on drums, and one of the most famous images of David Byrne is his glasses-and-bow-tie look from the Once in a Lifetime video.
always loved that it's a single episode that gets canceled in the middle of its runtime, but tries to have at least 3 different plots with 2 different cheap villains. The old Hanna-Barbera cartoons tgis is parodying really tried to cram it all in there like that.
"I found a duck egg; then I found a goose egg; then I found a nuthatch egg..." "What are you trying to say, Strong Sad?" "So I gotta lotta eggs. And I keep them in the couch."
@@TheInkPitOx Yeah, there's examples of shows that never got picked up, so they just mash their first couple episodes together to try and make some of their money back on video sales.
@@NJGuy1973 Trivia blast: The last project Bretterson worked on before disappearing mysteriously into history was the animated Secret Collect series, which apparently ran for two seasons.
Actually it wasn't Brett Bretterson it was actually the late great Dale Baer who didn't want to be associated with this show so he decided to use the pseudonym, excuse me pseudoNAME Brett Bretterson.
3:00 - Oh my god... I just realized that they're talking about Sloshy!!! This was almost 50 emails before the actually mentioned the group by name. HOW FAR AHEAD DO THEY PLAN THESE THINGS!? o.o
In all honesty, they probably don't plan these things. I think they just described a generic alternative rock group here, then later based Sloshy off that.
but why are they in space? there's no reason for them to be in space on the contrary my dear fatson, there's every reason for them to be in space lolol i love strong bad so much
So... This Limozeen cartoon is probably lost media in the Homestar Runner universe. And Strong Bad probably has no idea that people are looking for it, or even have the technical know-how to preserve it.
Ohhh thanks Space Gary! I can't believe we got cancelled!! WEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLL join us next time kids in syndication, or maybe on DVD!!!!!! (Guitar licks, credits roll, me laughing!)
Anybody else reminded of The Aquabats Super Show by this? Just on some weird, inperceptable level? Considering the Brothers Chaps worked on that show...
Strong Bad was the original lost media archiver- I'm sure he'd be able to find The Most Mysterious Song in the World with a bit of finagling. That is, if Strong Mad doesn't inhale his bandwidth again.
