Brian Shaw & Thor Bjornsson they have very much in common. Probably same height and about the same power and both are very athletic for their weight. Both former basketball players and both look at least 10 years older. I am as old as Thor and he looks 10-15 year older than me and is 3x heavier and 33 cm taller. Both are quite modest I guess but especially Shaw seems to be a really nice guy. He cares also for his rivals in the sport and is not egoistic or selfish at all...also Zydrunas Savickas very nice guy

@@bigguy7353 If you have a thyroid issue you might be extra thin or extra fat, kinda like a thermostat being set too high or too low, you don't choose your body type your DNA does. Andre had known about his pituitary condition (even bones keep growing) in his twenties and chose not to get treated. I believe that he knew that his pituitary gland would shorten his life unless he got it treated (I think radiation was the cure at the time but I'm unsure). I'm not sure when he was diagnosed but I do recall he left his village and said he wouldn't come back if he didn't become successful. The GH secreted so much that his family didn't recognize the new giant when he came back home, they thought he was a stranger until he spoke about his life. I guess that they believe him due to his knowledge of everyone in the family. I want to say pituitary problems plagued his lineage going back a few generations but Andre was extra effected. I really enjoyed the story about a bunch of drunks pestering and harassing Andre in a bar. Andre became enraged and chased them outside. Four or five men hid in a small car and locked the doors. Andre was furious and flipped the car. Seeing what he had just done Andre was afraid of police intervention and ran off Incredible Hulk style before he could be arrested. Supposedly the cops that arrived didn't buy the story of a giant Frenchman flipping a car with multiple drunken men inside. I believe the car was flipped by a giant. lol

He actually played college basketball, and did not stand out among others his height (and taller) other than being much stronger. When he found his true calling in Strongman he added the bulk through a very disciplined program of eating 10,000 or more calories and training very hard each day with some freakish weights and strongman apparatus. His enormous size is a result of genetics, and hard work. Not Acromegaly.

Yeah. There's a tendency for short guys to lift a lot because they feel insecure about their height. And the dame amount of muscle looks big on them so it's way easier for a small guy to look big through a screen

@@dasboots3272 I'd say it's not so much insecurity but smaller guys do have a tendency to fill out way easier for bodybuilding, so they have more of a reason to go for it and compete. I'm 5'10 and have a buddy who's 6'4 and he's having a harder time filling out atm, but once you get to a guy like Brian's size and can fill out completely you look like a damn monster next to shorter guys.
