My favorite parts so far, two minutes in 1. PONY videogame controller 2. It implies that the pandemic extended into 2022. (Not actually funny) 3. Getting to see the protagonist’s face when he looks in the mirror.
Yeah that was a raw line. Same with not being able to leave the floor, and the completely closed off door. I don’t get the giant eye monster tbh. The first half has inspired me to make a flash fiction horror story.
I was half expecting a twist being that the rest of the world is fine while that apartment is the only place still quarantined, with that fact being kept a secret from the tenants of the apartment to keep them indoors and depressed/docile.
Realistically I think the idea is that he could probably reach the eye hole but wouldn't be able to see well through it having to constantly jump up to be eye level with it.
Damn, in games like this, it's really hard to tell which answers you gave. And how much it mattered in determining what the response was. Still, good vid.
Man's a man of culture. Must've spent fortunes buying that classic retro Pony Slaystation 1. What a beast. P/S: Pony Slaystation is soooo gonna be a thing. Thanks to whoever thought of making these. You the real hero here.
@@Ozionian Classics never die. Modern ones are plagued with microtransactions, server issues, memory issues. Myself play games from the early 2000s even today.
@elcucaracho it's actually a nice layout, comparable to the one in Static End, though this one is smaller. If in a very unlikely event that you'll gonna be an apartment architect, these two games are a good starting point.
15:40 This is one of Erik Saties Gnossienne movements. Haunting but beautiful music, I listened to these pieces when playing Bloodborne and to this day have yet to find a more ideal pairing of music to games. The creator of this game, Structural, has great taste.
I’ve always wondered, do you ever get scared when playing these games and do the jump scares scare you? I’m assuming so, but in your gameplay you always seem so confident going through the map.
When I watched this video I decided to give this demo a shot. I had watched the video so I knew what to do, but wanted to explore everything at my own pace, seeing it's short. That said, when I watched this, I didn't notice the pale girl standing inside your own apartment when you look through the hole, and I was alarmed because before I looked through the hole I actually saw her standing outside the neighbor's room in the hallway then quickly vanish, and THEN I checked the hole and noticed her standing there... Good stuff
Hey, I played the game and I didn't see that freak! Gosh. I didn't understand when I asked the janitor "what was that thing back there?" I was like "I didn't see anything..."
love how the graphics are very obviously better than ps1 but the style is still there. Though I would like to see a version with actual correct texture filtering as an option, maybe for a more DS vibe or something.
@Buttman Jones I meant "cyclopean" the way Lovecraft uses it in so many of his stories, meaning gigantic stone architecture. But I guess you're right: those ruins are so cyclopean they have an actual cyclops in them!
I love the fact that PS1 graphics make even a clean room look like a run-down sleazy motel room where you definitely DON'T want to check the sheets, walls and surfaces with an UV light.
I love the texture warping, or what it looks like it since that was very much a trademark of 3d during PS1 era. I though at first that this was made in unity but seeing those textures makes me doubtful.
I actually love this low-fidelity, PS1 graphic style for horror games in particular, especially since they can have so many more objects and details that actual PS1 games couldn't. Makes for a really neat and kind of unsettling aesthetic I think.
The games visually is awesome. The font colors are hard to see. If you're going to design a game make sure you don't put dark subtitles on a dark background. This killed the whole experience for me.
This is reminding me of another game you played, forget what it was called but you were in a apartment and shadows showed up from time to time and you could shoot them with your revolver. And a massive tower was growing in view outside your window and it ends when you finally leave the apartment.
Alpha Beta Gamer your channel is really great! You find very atmospherical games. Do you know any other games with a vibe similar to this one and Static End? Thank you for your videos
Not only that's true, it's still a pandemic in 2023 especially when China having a runaway outbreak and yet still releasing citizens for global travel.
Getting a bit too real with this one. I like my games to be more about escaping reality. Because using the threat of mutations on something that is literally impossible to stop, is something that politicians would use to lock us up in our homes for years. Aside from that, I really like the visuals and atmosphere. That PS1 style look is great.
