Tammy, I am so proud of you. You do not normalize or glamorize anything about your weight struggle & yet you keep at it so authentically. Continue to put effort in not merely dieting but also feeling comfortable in your skin psychologically speaking. I love how self aware you are.

Tammy I struggle with my weight also. I don't know if you might find this helpful or if you have access to this... Struggle with my periods I learned that I had polycystic ovarian syndrome. After I was diagnosed, I asked my Doctor to put me on metformin and birth control. What your describing sounds similar to what I personally went through but I'm not a medical professional. I also started to see a registered dietitian for eating Disorder and for the PCOS. I hope that me sharing helps you know that you aren't alone and that also you get to the bottom of things and can plan together with your health care providers something that is tailor made for your body

This is going to sound weird, but bear with me, when I was really pregnant and I couldn’t reach places, I used a sports water bottle as like a portable bidet. You fill it with water and squirt it on your privates and bum and I swear it’s a life saver. They taught me that at the hospital after my first baby. That’s how the nurses wash you for a few days after a c-section when you can’t wash yourself down there. You can just keep one in the bathroom, fill it in the sink and spray yourself from a faster distance. I know it may sound gross to some people but I swear, try it!

@@Anonymous-gt1eq you could. But some people might not be able to afford it. I have NO idea what they cost. A squeeze water bottle is a few bucks and you can use it while you save for a real bidet. And a water bottle is portable. You can keep one in your purse and clean yourself anywhere you go to the bathroom. After all 3 of my c-sections, I carried one wherever I went because it’s messy down there for like a month after a baby and it’s nice to feel clean even if you’re not at home.

You were talking about the negatives of isolating due to your weight and mentioned depression. I think another huge negative effect of you isolating due to your weight is that the outside world ends up missing out on getting to know you. You seem like a very nice person who is down to earth and insightful. It sucks that your weight limits your interaction with others. You seem to be taking the right steps to regain your heath though, and although I don't know you and I just stumbled across this video, that makes me happy. There are probably a lot of wonderful people who society miss out on due to this isolation. Maybe you will inspire others in this situation too. From a business perspective, obesity also affects industries. I am a clinician and we just purchased several chairs without arms and a double wide wheel chair. I have two love seats n my office because some of my patients r so large. There are many though most don’t weigh above 400 lbs, but for the few that do they needed extra amenities. We worked to help meet their needs but doing so came at a cost to the company and of course we raised our rates for everybody. We can’t discriminate and just charge the people who need the extra amenities, so everyone pays the price of obesity.

Part of what she lost is water weight from the congestive heart failure she had due to her weight, and she is only 50 years old. Being someone that is morbidly obese at 185 pounds 5’0, I can honestly say that even wiping yourself becomes a challenge. You don’t rest at night, it’s hard to breathe, and your feet hurt most of the time. I love how genuine and authentic she is. It’s sad that celebrities like Lizzo want to glamorize and normalize obesity, but there is nothing beautiful or pleasant about being obese. Too often we think that we r fat and healthy because we can still move and our blood tests and blood pressure is within a normal range. Let me tell U that this can change quickly. Damage is being done all the while and your body is trying to cope until it can’t do so any longer. When I was 100 lbs overweight I eventually got high blood pressure, & high cholesterol that became my wake-up call. I don’t have either anymore but I do have deep vein reflux from carrying so much weight and have to wear compression stockings to decrease getting ulcers on my legs. The bones n my feet are deformed, and cannot be fixed (who knew that our feet have so many bones), I have flat feet from my arches falling, my knees need to be replaced, I have loose belly skin that need care underneath, and Oh dental issues. I thought that I was a healthy fat person buy now even at a normal healthy weight I have several long-term or irreversible changes to my body that did not have to happen. If U destroy the house U live n, where will U live especially when U cannot always buy a new house? I feel much better n my new body, but I wish I knew how precious the things I have loss would be to me back n the day.

It's not about low carb. The trick is calories. Google your sex, height and weight to see what your daily calories should be and start from there. You can eat whatever you want just don't exceed those calories. Don't waste your calories on drinks so only 10 or less calorie drinks. You'll stop dropping weight quickly. Then next is calorie deficit where you eat about 200 less calories than daily recommended.

I’ve lost 66 pounds or 30 kilograms in the past 11 months. It was brutally difficult. I found the only way I could loose it was by fasting. I know there is so many pros and cons with that path but it does work. The only issue is it’s a lifestyle change, so you have to be willing to do it long term otherwise the weight will creep back. It’s a vicious cycle. Good luck with your journey hun. ❤️ Drinking flavoured water helped me.

Good for you! Fasting can be a powerful tool and a healthy normal plan unless of course someone is underweight/ underage etc. For someone with an ED many types of fasting are probably not a good idea but even in Tammy's case a form of fasting could work. Her current plan is to eat 3 meals a day. If she keeps that to just three meals and no snacking, she'd most likely be doing some form of intermittent fasting or TRE which would be healthy. I've done quite a bit of fasting over the past couple of years. It can be difficult, sometimes brutally as you said. The most important thing is to stay the course, stay in tune with how you feel, eat well when you do eat, and above all be kind to yourself.

I ended up losing over 100lbs, and have kept it off for about 5 years now. I'm amazed on how some people can wipe who're a lot bigger than I was... I don't see how it's possible. Honestly that was one of the biggest reasons I had that finally pushed me into getting healthy. When you can no longer preform BASIC hygiene routines then it's time to WAKE TF UP. Sadly with all of this "health at any size" mantra going around the issue is just going to continue to increase and worsen. I have a friend who is about 300lbs, 5'1 and can not wipe herself, she's constantly getting UTI"s... I'm sure you know why. However she believes because her health hasn't yet been effected on paper that she's fine and it's "just a body"🙄 I hope we as a society start to take obesity, particularly morbid obesity serious and stop lying to the masses just to make them feel better in the moment. There is nothing good with carrying around extra weight, period.

Tammy it's Tammy I told you before I'm proud for you. I was 550 pound I almost lost my life. I had no choice but to lose weight. If I hadn't lost it I would not be alive. Food is to live, not a life line. I couldn't even wipe myself I was so big. My husband left me for another woman during this time because of my weight and my health. I was 36 years old. I'm now I'm 59. I still struggle with my weight and wanting to eat un healthy foods. By the doctors standard I'm about 30 pounds over weight still. So what!!!! My weight goes up and down all the time. My daughter and grand daughter have the same struggle. My granddaughter is really having it the hardest. She's really getting over weight. She only 15.people are mean to her. I hate mean people!!! I have loss skin that hangs off of my arms and legs and people are mean about it all the time 😈

Hi from Australia, Tammy, I am so very glad your video came up on my YT feed. I can so relate to everything you say. I am a lot older than you (55yo) and also very short (4ft 9in). I weigh around 90kg (sorry don't know lbs). It may not sound too bad, but a healthy weight for me is around 40-45kg. I use a hairdryer to dry myself after a shower and the whole shower routine is exhausting! I can relate so much to your struggles with hygiene and low stamina. I've subscribed to your channel and look forward to watching more of your videos. Thank you for being brave enough to talk about your struggles with food and body weight. It helps others feel like they're not alone with their own struggles. I think you are awesome! :)

Hi Tammy ! I am new here ... But I just wanted to tell you thank you so much for sharing this - I am 5'4 and am 283 lbs. This is the most I have ever weighed in my life. I hear ya on the struggles. As my Aunt would say each day ... The struggle is real and she is absolutely right - it is ! I too have issues doing simple everyday things as well - I have broken my back in a car accident 4 almost 5 yrs ago, so I do have problems standing, walking and sitting - and my now being overweight does not help at all. I cannot even walk through a small dollar general without using a cart and even then I have to have my boyfriend empty the cart and pay the cashier so I can go to the car to sit - The pain is s that bad. My dishwasher needs to be fixed, so now I wash them by hand at the sink but I have to have a chair next to me because after 5 minutes my back is killing me. I also have to sit while I sweep, vacuum or mop my floors. Me getting my underwater, pants socks and shoes is real struggle as well. And as for using the bathroom - if I cannot reach from behind to clean myself - I jump in the shower and use the shower head spray and the sponge on a stick to clean myself each time - this is probably one if not two of my biggest struggles .. The other really biggest struggle is showering, 5 minutes into showering and my back is killing me - I literally have to use a shower chair .. Which took quite a while to find one that would actually fit in my bathtub - before having a shower chair - omg I was taking fast and very painful showers ... The struggle is definitely real ! if I lose all the weight I have gained, these struggles would be over and I would once again be back to being my usual active self. I want you to know that I' have just told you all this about me because I want you to know - you are not alone .. The struggle we go through is real, its brutal and it does exists. I am positive that you and I as well as others will get thru this, by never giving up - we will lose the weight and we will all overcome the struggles. You can do this ! I love your honesty, your humor and you - just being you ! You are awesome ! Stay healthy 😷 And be safe always 🙏 Please Feel free to email me anytime 😊

While I am about 100lbs overweight, I had no idea life was this hard for others. I guess I just never thought about it. How life just seems to close in because there's less to do and less places to go and the choices diminish with increments of weight gain. I applaud you for baring your struggles. I think it will help others to be able to better understand how hard life is when overweight and have some empathy. And just to know that we are not alone. Thanks for sharing.

I understand a year and a half ago I was 495 lbs but have lost 195 lbs and feel a lot better I was using food to deal with the pain of the loss of my twin sister and dad but have gotten a better understanding of my relationship with food and understanding that eating the way I was was not going to fill that void or bring them back to me and I was essentially killing myself slowly due to my weight I also sat around a lot and that brought on sciatica problems to which hurt a lot but I now move through the pain and hope to be rid of it soon sending you hugs and positive vibes on your journey to a healthier you 🙂

I'm rooting for you! Three years ago I faced all these same struggles myself at over 360 pounds. Two years ago I had gastric bypass surgery and last month I had skin removal surgery. I have worked hard these past years and now I am at a healthy weight. Sadly being over 200 pounds overweight for most of my life has caused me back pain and disk disease at 40. I'm working hard to get healthy now and I know it is a struggle every day.

Kudos to you! I wish my siblings were as honest and serious about their weight issues as you are. Most of my siblings are in the 450 - 600lb range. Two have had gastric bypasses and while they lost a little weight, they are bigger now than before their surgery. They drink so many calories and are addicted to every form of sugar. It saddens me that they are shortening their lives by at least a decade - and we aren't nearly as young as you. Keep up the hard work - it will pay off!

Also: something that helped me a lot was seeing a nutritionist. My nutritionist helped me learn healthy coping mechanisms surrounding food, and making sure im eating the correct amount for my body. I don't think I would be where I am today without a nutritionist!

I’m down 90kgs now and things are so much better. But I’ve been struggling with some small relapses lately. Your story could be my story, including the age when food/weight became a problem.
