This is great info! I was wondering, do you know of any viable way to work while also going to school using the GI bill? Do you HAVE to be in school full time to utilize the GI bill?
You can absolutely work full or part time while using the GI Bill. You do not have to be a full time student to use the GI Bill. You just have to keep in mind your BAH will be less of you're not a full time student. I know plenty of people that worked full time and went to school full time. It's doable, but you need the right job/class schedule to maintain and work really hard.
Thanks for the video! Just wondering, since the housing allowance goes down over time, do you typically get paid by the employers or working for free??
Great question! I have actually learned l through personal experience that they can't pay you $0. They pay you below market rate and you're subsidized by the BAH. The pay scale is set up so that by the end you'll be making full wage.
@therealjasonburds Does the $1488 payout on the Chapter 35 benefits this year include the housing stipend? It always shows it as separate on the website but I never hear anyone talk about receiving that separately. Thanks always for your insight.
I am sorry, I am not very familiar with chapter 35 benefits and the payout you're referring to. I would probably call the GI Bill phone number (888-442-4551) and see if they can give you a definitive answer.
A 18 year-old high school student received an admission letter from a top50 university, but he's interested in joining the army. please make a video about how he expects to apply to a top10 university after 4 years with the same high school grade, recommendation letter, online education credits during the duty, and his Veteran Status.
@@jasonburds For example, as an ordinary high school student,he may not meet Berkeley's admissions requirements, does Berkeley accepts credits from online courses during his military duty , as a Veteran he can be admitted , and how to apply.
@@lokok7643 Absolutely. He can take online classes with any of the California Community colleges for a seamless transition into a school like Berkley (or any other CA state school). There are numerous organizations that help veterans obtain admission into schools like Yale, Harvard, UCLA, Stanford, etc. Service 2 School is a great resource for vets that desire to get into schools of that caliber.
